i want to get off dogs and cats for just a minute and talk about ambassador stevens.all accounts relate his goodness and love for the libyan people and culture.he had served there many years before the 'revolution'and was enthusiastiac about his assignment there;he truely wanted to do good for this world.

i want to go back to a time when i was in vietnam and the chief of the village we were near outside of danang.one or more viet cong had thrown a hand grenade into his home and he luckily escaped death.mr.england,our platoon commander assigned me and my squad leader kokoruda to stay at his house and guard him from attack.we would have killed anyone who tried to hurt him, just two marines and a whole lot of firepower.my point is that our ambassador in libya had securty who were not only unarmed (no bullets)but pointed out mr.stephens' location before they fled.a contengency of marines would have saved his life and the lives of the three other embasy personel.it was september 11 and the pictures of the ambassador speak plainly of the horror he was subjected to.me and kokoruda would have given our lives to protect the chief of that village;as would the marines assigned to embasy duty all over the world.convoluted policy killed those four representatives of our nation on what is by international law our territory.it was an act of war, plain and simple,no parsing of words or splitting of hairs;our so called 'safe house' in the city that was known as the hotbed of radical islam was compromised by the treachery of our enemies in tripoli who watched the comings and goings of our staff and were in earshot of  shop-talk, if not direct itinerary.this was no reaction to a silly 14 minute 'trailer' to a movie that doesnt even exist;this was a planned ambush by people who hate our guts and will continue to strike us and our allies whenever they see a weakness.we have become weak and ineffectual  in thier eyes and  the failure to provide armed security for our interests in order to appease the muslim brotherhood (a so-called 'low profile')is more than misguided;it has resulted in murder.as a marine and a former investigator,i hurt inside and if anyone reading this has witnessed the blood and brutality perpertrated against servants and friends of our nation, they should be stirred to indignation at the failure to recognise that appeasement only emboldens the raptors of this world. crunch the numbers, only 1% means thousands living in this country.

let us remember who we are;we are builders with the trowel in one hand and the sword in the other.christians, turn to the words of moses, daniel and job.the prophet daniel, beloved by god and chief of the magi in persia, inspired the mission to bethlehem;so it was and so it is.800 years later a false prophet incited the false religion that is the catalyst for violence over the entire world.even the godless russia will feel the wrath;we will witness the ramifications of spurning the state of isreal for the comedy of errors.

Burge,

Thank you for the insightfulness, enlightenment and for your dedicated service to our country.   The USA and it’s Western Allies are in a holy war and have been for 13 centuries. No soft selling on the part of our government, rejection of the term ‘terrorism’ by some, blaming an ‘act of war’ on an internet blip or any other spin should ever be allowed by an informed public with a transparent government. However, although we are the most prosperous country on earth, we as a nation are generally shallow, self-centered, not very aware of world history or politics, especially the Arab cultures of the Middle-East and therefore easily misled and essentially don’t care about much of anything except for our sports, TV sitcom series, reality shows and the next iPhone with latest generation of apps.

A few of our best and bravest, like yourself may be the hope for the future by filling leadership roles, provided they survive and return from service as they are learning the worldly lessons daily which all of us at home could benefit from.

In hind sight, I think that the cigar smoking, self-indulged winning Allied Generals of WWII made a very crucial mistake after the war by forcing the Bedouin Arabic tribes from their homelands to form a ‘boundary country’ for the neglected Jews of the world. Don’t get me wrong, I of German descent am ashamed of my heritage by providing for a platform for the persecution of Jews and fully appreciate that some sort of global restitution should have been made. I just don’t think much thought was put into the possible repercussion of those geo-political actions and now 60 years later, we are paying the price and I am concerned that we will continue to do so far into the future as there are no obvious solutions other than continuous warring efforts.   The USA is in this for the long haul and we should understand at least that aspect regardless of what our inept political leaders tell us - this issue is not partisan at all as I recall after 9/11, the Bush administration stating ‘this may take a few years’ – yea more like a few hundred years and tens of thousands of lives.

For anyone interested in a very well written ‘history lesson’ read Benard Lewis’ What Went Wrong (@ Amazon in paperback for $14) as it chronicles relevant Islamic/global events from Mohammed to OBL. I thought I understood this issue fairly well since I worked throughout the Mid-East but realized I did not know much and therefore found this book very informative, although I will admit I needed a dictionary nearby as the fog index was well above my intellectual capabilities. This book should be required reading for all, if only our kids could read!

Political pontifications from Lake Wobegon where the nights are getting cooler, God Bless America and remember to vote early and often,

Jackie Crowe (Finch)

I'm enjoying all the forum and especially the pet pictures and hate to dampen it with my news, but thanks BroBeau for getting the word out.  Life is full of challenges and we've each had our share.  So another obstacle, but I'm strong ----- and with all the love and support from all of you, my family and my Faith - I will get through this!

Update - I went back to work on Monday, Sept. 10 after being out for 3 weeks  with viral meningitis.   On Tuesday, Sept. 11 had biopsy  because of a mammogram I had in August.  The biopsy was delayed of course because of my hospital stay with meningitis. I did work the rest of last week, trying to get back to norm!

This past Sunday and Monday I was back in the hospital with blood clot caused by the PIC line in my arm for the IV treatments I had at home for my meningitis.  I also found out Monday the biopsy report - not good.   Next steps - have appointments at MD Anderson next Wednesday (Sept. 26) for them to do all the tests again - mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy.  Thursday (Sept. 27) I follow up with appointment with Dr. Gildy Babiera, Oncologist Surgeon.

I'll keep y'all posted and ask for continued prayers.  And thank you again for all your emails, calls, forum messages and cards from my previous stay in the hospital.  You all have truly touched my heart!

I don't have any pet pictures, but here's the latest of my cute grandson, James, who keeps me laughing.  And my beautiful daughter, Carrie, thank goodness she's a nurse and gives me TLC along with my son, Doug and other daughter, Cheryl.  Carrie gave me my IV and now  shots for blood clot.

Hugs and love,

J

Jackie,  Our hearts go out to you for all you've been through and for the challenges you continue to go through, none of which are easy to handle.  Continue to hang in there with Friends, Family and Faith, and we will keep uplifting prayers on your behalf.

I think grandkids photos beat out pets any day of the week and yours was priceless!  And the fact that your grandson can keep you laughing means so much to your recovery process as well.  Laugh out loud!

Anything any of us can do to help we are at the ready.  Just let us know.  Keep us posted as to your progress.  So good to hear from you on the Forum.  May God bless you and keep you steadfast in your Faith in Him.

for car buffs, something rare.the 1959 chevy biscayne police intercepter.40 were made at the chevy "skunkworks" headed up by zora dontov.this was his personal prototype and had a 350hp/ 348 ci engine(the forerunner of the '409' ) and was rated at 135 mph;faster than the ferrari production models of that year.it was auctioned off as the last one extant having been issued to the oregon state police.as you can see,it was very well maintained.probably as rare as g.gorden liddy's 1956 'hemi' dodge lancer he had as an fbi special agent.it was kept tuned by the white house mechanic who worked on the presidential chrysler emperial limosine.those old hemis had 2 afb 4 bbl. carbs and that lancer was probably set up for escape and evasion rather than persuit.liddy had plenty of enemies.i like "plain-jane sleepers"and this chevy is a beauty.

Hey Burge thanks for the pics and the history that went along with it...that 59 chevy was IDENTICAL to the one my dad had...cept maybe the color, it was white...and it had four doors...and it had a 283...and it was an Impala...but other than that, it was IDENTICAL...and the same thing...too...also...

My granddaughter. Hannah (14). has been admitted to the Dell Children's Hospital in Austin for testing. She has had a severe headache for 23 days. Dr. Linsey Elton is a nuerologist tending her. If you will, please add Hannah to those of our Waltripian family's prayer list. My prayer is for the correct diagnosis, treatment and relief for Hannah. Thanks, Paige

Paige, sorry to hear about Hannah and she will be prayed for, and you and all of your family. Bless her heart to have bad headaches for that long.

Burge, loved the car and the history. My family had a black '59 El Camino for about a year when we were in the 10th grade and I just loved it. But my dad figured out it was not much of a truck for farm use and it got replaced by a GMC. Had forgotten about Duntov too!

paige, there seems to be an inordinate number of malidies effecting both the young and old these days.i hope that your grandaughter's headaches are not viral in nature.more and more presure and indecision are causing stress related pain, even amoung the young, they are especially sensitive at the age of 14 and i hope that she gets the best treatment.pray its not a virus.kids are under so much pressure these days and it exaserbates any organic sickness.all the best for her.

Paige,

OMG, I'm so sorry for Hannah,  23 days of a severe headache!  I hope they are checking out viral meningitis and West Niles.  I only had a severe headache for a week until they started me on Tramadol (non narcotic pain reliever).  Morphine just buffered, but Tramadol completely eliminated the pain.

Prayers and hugs,

J

09/26/12 09:53 AM #5268

Paige Talley (Meek)

Thank you all for your prayers and concern. Hannah is still in the hospital. The treatment is harsh. DHE-45 or Dihydroergotamine is used to treat migraine headaches. DHE-45 is in a class of medications called ergot alkaloids. It works by tightening blood vessels in the brain and by stopping the release of natural substances in the brain that cause swelling. Hannah's is being administered via IV. Before they even get to the dose of the stuff,  there are pre-meds that prepare the body to accept the DHE. Hannah's veins are becoming very weak. The actual DHE is administered every 8 hours. The in-between hours are filled with unpleasant effects. This morning her pain level is down to a 5 from yesterday's best at 8. The nausea must be tolerated but if she actually throws-up they have to discontinue the DHE completely.

Otherwise, I am sitting here at work wanting to be in Austin. I just heard from Daphanie and there is hope that Hannah may come home on Friday. Thank you again for your prayers and thank you for letting me rattle on here.

Hugs,

Paige

Good moanin mine waltripines...woke with a start at 2 this fine morn...couldnt go back to sleep so me and the boys sat on the swing for a spell...very quiet out there. Cant seem to shut my mind down, so here I am.
Hoping Hannah will respond and recover from the headaches. I was hoping Hannah just had a sinus problem, which can be fixed...that D med she is taking doesnt sound like it's for sinus, but here's hoping...I know her family has to be anxious over this, well duh einstein! ! ! Yeah, I know...I am so hard on myself sometimes...all the time really...

Got a call from a friend and former co-worker. His wife finally succumbed to liver cancer this week.  She is to be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery. Frankie is a MARINE...and when his time comes, he will buried alongside Vickie...Same with Diane and I...when our time comes...our time! ! ! ! What phrasing...NOW, is our time...to live that is...THE OTHER TIME, well, not something I, we, care to think about.  Having faith in Jesus and our lord, is suppose to prepare us for "that time"...but this life, is all I know, all we know...we know we are not immortal, but then again, we think we are...

Still carry that "little kid" frame of mind when it comes to "death"..."not gonna happen to me" ! ! ! ! !

Carpet to be laid upstairs this Friday or Saturday...yeaaaaa, getting close...had the UNITS folks pick up the pod from the driveway...I know that has to please my neighbors no end...well, couldnt be helped...they only charge 187.00 amonth, plus drop off and pick up fee...I guess if I didnt pay the "pickup fee", they wouldnt pick it up???? Hmmmm...kinda like buying a car, almost everything is an accessory or option...

Downstairs remodeling complete, cept for the errant box O crud that needs a new home...somewhere...
We inheirited another load of cra...crud from the "colonial room" at the church...that old "50s colonial maple stuff"...gonna put it in the anti que booth, that which will fit, that is...I really didnt want that stuff...we will put a very reasonable price on it for some up and coming 50s couple...so, if any of yall are looking to relive those 50s furniture years, have I gotta deal for YOU! ! ! !

I grew up with that furniture...my mom and dad just loved that "colonial maple" ...stuff! ! ! ! "well, thats solid maple you know..." I'll bet I heard that a zillion times...in fact one of the ladies at the church said, they dont make furniture like that any more...I said, "hooray"! ! ! ! It is solid wood alright...I showed her the problem with "solid" wood. IT CRACKS, as some of this stuff has done. Bought some "GORILLA GLUE" to fix it up...That stuff really works on...stuff. Fixed a marble, or some kind of stone "mortar and pestile" with that glue, that super glue wouldnt fix...bout the onliest (east texas for only) think "GORILLA GLUE" wont fix, is a broken heart, or broken promise, broken silence, or when "morning has broken"...we sing that one in church...

My first experience singing that song in church, was with my beloved back in 82 or 83 when I joined her church. I thought, "wow, rock and roll"...there's another tune in the hymnal that sounds like the music from "love me tender"...Dont remember the name of the hymn! ! ! ok, hold on, coffee is ready...oh man, I love the smell of fresh brewed coffee...hope that doesnt wake my beloved...what better smell to wake up to though, other than bacon frying in the pan...

Bacon and coffee, just smells like "home" doesnt it ! ! ! One of my all time boyhood memories, the smell of breakfast...well, I didnt drink coffee back then, but it sure smelled good,  I did eat a truckload of bacon when allowed to...my grandmothers would fix us kids a "cup O joe" ...mainly cream and sugar with a touch O joe...thought I was "big stuff" when I got to have a cup O joe with the grown ups...

Wasnt it nice, when we were the "kids" and OTHER people were the responsible adults in charge? ? ? ? ? Man how I wanted to be a grown up back then...Ok, see, I've changed my mind...too late...now we are the "responsible adults" and in charge...thats why we love to spoil our grandkids I suppose, that, and we love em so...

Hmmmm, maybe I'll put on some bacon...got some from Grolczyks in Hempstead, some "peppered bacon"...speaking of which, I took the horse and buggy to CostCo general store...had to get 5 pounds of coffee, a pound of jerky, some hardtack, salt and sugar for our trek west to the promise land...well, just funnin ya...loved them old westerns....

I did go to costco for some coffee, and wound up with a buschel basket O stuff...as I allus do..."dear, why did you get a truck load of "ranch style beans", my beloved asks????? "Well, they were on sale, and they are good for you..." I retorted..."yeah, and you know what else they do for you too, dont you? You could light the Olympic torch with the er uh byproduct of your Ranch Style Beans"...yeah yeah yeah..."I'll cookem and eatem outside, thank you very much" I says...

Hmmmm that coffee is sooooo good...I know, maybe I'll go into the critter free zone and watch the weather channel...I'm really beginning to hate that channel, cause they also give the news...if I wanted the news, I'd tune into a news station...all I want to know, is when is it gonna snow, and when is WTL gonna head this a way...Hey Wayne, is your boat stored in the water, or on dry land??? Can you fish in the harbor???? Probably not, cause if you actually caught something, it would be oily and smelly....fish is ssmelly anyway...and oily, well 30 weight oily and smelly...

I was looking for some Cod fish at K rogers and never could find any...cod extinct???? Long John Silvers supposedly serves cod...wonder where there is a long john silvers! ! ! havent been to one of those in years...Remember King Olafs roast beef??? There was one on the corner of Ella and Pinemont way back in the day....dont recollect which day, but way back then...

4 AM...Guess I'll sing off...I'm tortured, so no since in torturing youse youtes any longer with my er uh banter...
maybe I'll see if the paper is here...who am I kidding, it never gets here before sunup...Man, when I threw the Morning Post, Mr Clausen would have had a fit, and  called the Post if I didnt have it at his house by 3:30 AM...In fact, most everyone on my route would call...especially on Saturday or Sunday...times sure have changed. As long as we have been taking the paper at this house, 20 years, you'ld think they would never miss us...not so, at least once or twice a month, I get no paper...whatchagonnado! ! ! !

Hope all has a blessed and good day...and all recover from any and all maladies...HEAL! ! ! ! ! ! !

Jackie, stay strong and be well. It’s almost ironic that you had the foresight and expertise to put this forum together so that others could connect and support each other and now it also provides your classmates with a platform for reaching out to you. It is amazing how close the research is to finding a cure and how much progress has been made in this area of which I’m confident you will benefit from. It appears from the statistics that the increased possibility of breast and prostate cancer are part of the price of living longer.

Paige, although I don’t have any grandkids and I would not pretend to know how you feel, I’m sure it must be especially hard to see young love ones suffer. As stated above, we are very fortunate and all benefit from the advancements in modern medicine, in prevention, diagnosis and cure. Here’s hoping and praying that Hanna will be back in the pink and free of pain soon.

Beau, thanks for thinking about me. I am scheduled to head South on Tuesday, Oct 2nd along with other migratory animals. All lake boats are typically removed from the water by Halloween as the ice will crush the hull. Yea, fish are stinky and slimy but have you ever dressed a chicken, hog, calf or wild game such as turkey? It can ruin your appetite.  I understand that the oil in some top of the food chain fish like Kingfish (a hoot to catch as they hit like a freight train) have lots of the high density or good cholesterol that’s good for the heart. I’ve had heart patients ask for Kingfish while at the cleaning table, however, if you fry it like I do, all health benefits bets are off.   I understand that Portuguese fishermen have about wiped out the cod off our N.E./Atlantic coast, I have caught them from platforms in the North Sea. I think a lot of the US fish fast food now is from S.E. Asia and probably some fast growing, farmed types like tilapia. After seeing how those people live and getting sick as dog while working there, I try to avoid any food from Asia. I was in Houma LA a few years ago and asked the server in a restaurant where the crayfish came from and the answer was Viet Nam – go figure.

Hooray, the real NFL zebras are back. Did you see in the news that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s annual salary is $20 M? What a crock, I guess he will be able to afford bacon even at $10/lb!  Maybe those 99%ers had a point.

Remember to vote early and often, eat (local) fish twice weekly, have annual exams and get your flu shots soon…………..

Hope to see you all at Clay’s on the 20th

Gee, I didnt know there were replacement refs, until I found out...seems like they are all overpaid crybabies from the owners on down to the water boys and girls...Didnt really see any different calls that abnormal from the replacement refs...but, I was never impressed with the old refs...but on a grander and much more important scheme of things, How is Hannah??? I do hope she has recovered.

Times are getting tough all over, I heard Jay Leno was going to have to take a pay cut from 30 or 40mil to 20 mil...oh my goodness, how will he ever make it...probably could apply for foodama stamps and welamafare and SS disamability...his stuff is lame anyway...never be another Johnny Carson...

Hey WTL, looking forward to seeing you at Fuddclays...I think I will let my hair down, now there's a real trick isnt it, might just have a half a beer. Thats about all it takes to put me to sleep....guess the little woman can drive me home...hows the chinese food at clays???  Nah, dont eat that stuff...not clean enough for me...

Know what I'm thinkin???? If you do, let me know, cause my brain just went on strike...wonder if I can get a replacement brain???

OH HEY...my grandson called me today from Tx A&M! Said he got a 98 on his biology test, and the class average was 55...wonder what it would have been if he hadnt made a 98, 25???  Thats about the best way I know of to impress the prof, do well on a test...

ok, suppers on...all were havin is porridge...whatever in the heck that is...

Paige Talley (Meek)

Good Morning. So far so good as the saying goes. Hannah was released from the hospital Thursday evening. She is home and as of last night a 0 on the pain level from the migraine. Her sisters and brother made her homecoming a welcome sight. The yard was decorated; the family room and her bedroom as well. She is on a preventive program and hopefully she will not have to face this ordeal again. Doc said even a one day strike like this one and it is back to Austin immediately.

Bless her heart, tonight is Homecoming at her HS and she so wants to go. I think that is a good sign. Before she didn't ever want to do anything again :).

Thank you for your prayers.

"Silver bells...Silver bells...It's Christmas time in the city...Ring-a-ling...hear them ring...soon it will be Christmas day..."! ! ! ! !

Yup, it's that time again boys and girls...Sears and Roebucks has started decorating for Christmas...Went by the one on North Shepherd, do my usual perusing of the tools dept, looking for trimmer string and any other shiny gadget and or doodad that caught my eye...Lo and behold, they were setting up Christmas trees...not even hollareen yet...

I tried to splain to the cashier, who probably wasnt much older than my grandson, about the candy counter not too far from where we were standing there at sears...and the great smell of popcorn and cashews, then I tried to splain about the toy dept upstairs and how big it was, and the amount of shelves full of toys and it having it's own room and all...dont think he really understood, even though he was shaking his head "yes",  that he did...guess he was just humoring this old man...well, thats ok, maybe he will have some special memories like ours...dont see how that's possible, cause we had the gravy, creame de la creame of a life full of memories...looking back, ours was but a fairy tale...never looked at it that way when I lived back then, but boy, I sure do now...

The anticipation of Foleys christmas decorated windows...they put brown paper in the windows whilst they gussied them up for Christmas, then unveiled them all at the same time...I remember ooing and ahing over such simple delights, along with the smell of the food being prepared at Woolworths and Walgreens, and the LC cafeteria...oh my, done gone and made myself homesick, and I AM at home...

Was there a Thanksgiving day parade, or Christmas parade downtown???? I know we have a Rodeo parade, but dont remember a Christmas or Thanksgiving parade...The did use to gussy up main street with lights and tinfoil for umpteen blocks...wonder if they can still do that now they got em the "hooterville special train" running the length of main...Maybe I'll just take a trip down there this Christmas and see what I can see...

Guess I'll break out my christmas music and get in the mood...I suppose a fellow like me cant start too early, cause I am so forgetful nowadays...Of course Christmas has allus snuck up on me ever year for a long while...the way I figger it, if they would have Christmas on the same day of the year, ever year, instead of moving it around like they do...well, I wouldnt be caught off guard...

My Beloveds birthday is this Monday, Oct the oneth...havent gotten her anything yet, hard to buy for her. I generally get a necklace or some such doodad...cant buy shoes cause she wears size 4, plus the wearer is the onliest (east texas for only) one that knows what they like anyhoo...same way with clothes...looks like it's necklace time...cant buy any antiques for her, cause we sell em...that would be like taking a 20 dollar bill out of your right pocket, tearing it up, and putting it in your left pocket...

I guess we've sort of gotten practical about things...our remodeling is gift enough for me, even through the agony of the event...DW says thats good enough for her too, but I'm an old softy. I like to surprise her with a gift box, card, and a rose, or suitable flawer on her side of the bathroom...or next to her coffee cup on the kitchen table...

Carpet people were suppose to come today, but not now, cause it's raining...we need the rain, thats for sure, but I was sure hoping to have that carpet in by today...now it's gonna be Monday and Tuesday...oh well, "you cant always get what you waant..."or woids to that defect...

Looks like the monsoon has slacked off a touch, so now I can take Huckle and Berry for their walk...got help today, DW will take Jack and Cooper is with me...

along with some light rain which fell all day today came some cooler temps;fall came officially this week so the "fall"like weather was a good sign.i know it wont last but its a begining of what i hope to be  some cooler weather.

happy to hear that hanah is out of the danger zone;with the west nile scare in texas you cant be too careful.god bless her and i hope the headaches can be controlled from now on.some analogs of ergotamine are schedule 3 (lsd 25 for one)but the ergot fungus has been used for centuries for migains and the relaxation of smooth muscle tissue in difficult childbirth.the law is articulate even to the molecular level and beyond to angular momentum of electron spin.nature has a cure for almost everything;except love.thats hopelessly incureable.everybody is under stress these days and its hard to tell whats what so keep in mind how beautiful the whole creation is and rejoice in the recovery of a precious one.

hey wayne, ill check out the book you recomended on islam;i have about four covering different periods of the history and have garnished plenty on internet sites but i would enjoy a comprehensive history.one i have "gods' war' only covers the crusades  and others are on personalites or oberservations by experts who have opinions and agendas.im sure you learned first hand about the cultures and tribal distintions by living and working there.it is truely one of the most complicated problems modern policy has to deal with.i believe we underestimate every aspect of thier thinking and intentions.thier practice of taquia or purposeful lying to the infidels is obligatory and santioned.we cant believe a word they say,no matter what sect. i know some iranian christians who are wonderful people but they would be persecuted if they returned to teheran.christians are being hunted down and killed in egypt but we give the muslim brotherhood govnt. 450 million more dollars.go figure.they lie and laugh about it while the blood floods as easily as thier oil;blackmailing over the suez canal as churches burn.media, like most everything is bought and paid for to twist or hide the truth and we just watch taxation and inflation eat us up like a flesh-eating bacteria.the fed prints fiat money to pay the interest on a 16 trillion dollar debt and people are assured that "everything is fine" and the economy is strong.placed in an accurate format,a fourth grader could see there is something amiss in that math.i guess we are all expected to think on a third grade level.they make up a fancy phrase like "quantitave easing 1,2 and now indefinate" instead of just coming out and admiting that money is being printed without anything to back it up so it appears we are solvent when it devaluates an already $.40 dollar and causes the price of everything to go up.we dont have 'bread lines' visible like during "the great depression" because food stamp e-cards are sent to the hungry and permanately unemployed.what a farse.what a deception...im still bent out of shape about our ambassador  being murdered and all we heard for days through the rotten media was some bs when the intelligence was there for many days on end that trouble was about to jump in with both feet.i could say more but... i cant.they knew.

Burge, You have a very clear understanding of the big picture for our country. We have been and are continuing to be led down the path and about to go off the cliff of severe insolvency by sleazy politicians of both parties, 98% of whom are only concerned with further lining their own nests and not our country's future and security. Our poor children and grand children will ultimately pay the price of sacrifice and will rightfully ask, how could they (us) have stood by and let this happen to our country and our future while it was on their watch? Greece and Spain and eventually more of Europe are just starting to deal with the same reality, but ours is of so much larger magnitude that it will be much more painful.

Jackie Crowe (Finch)

Beau, tell Diane HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jack Bevil and all our October birthdays!  Trying to do some catch up on forum and my emails!

Wayne, thanks for the encouraging words and you are so right, this website has been so rewarding and now with my ordeal I'm just overwhelmed with all the love and support I have received.  There is no way to be depressed - I'm laughing, smiling and dancing  my way through M. D. Anderson!  Great medical professionals and I'm very impressed with their system.

Even though my initial appointments started out last week for all day Wednesday and partial Thursday, it ended up all day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  And now back tomorrow - these folks are thorough!!!!!  I've had tests and more tests and have met with Oncologist Surgeon, Medical Oncologist and her doctor in training and an Internist (preoperative evaluation). These are extensive appointments and exams - wears me down, but I know it's all for the good.

This blood clot I have from meningitis hospital stay in August has thrown a wrench into the overall plans.  It's too risky for surgery now, they are afraid I'll throw another clot.    So the initial plan was to have mastectomy and 6 months of chemo.  Now with the clot we are looking at 6 months of chemo and then surgery.  And being on Coumadin and Lovenox treatment for clot doesn't help either in the chemo treatments.  So have meeting tomorrow at Coumadin Center to lay out that plan.  Then meet again on Thursday with both Oncologist doctors for final decision.

Well, that the latest scoop --- and again, I love you all!  Hope to see everyone at Fudd's and Clay's (20th) this month.  Miss y'allcrying

I ask for your continued prayers, also including Hannah, Linda and Johnny's mother who has been in and out of the hospital over the last several months and any others of our family who are in need of prayers.

Hugs and love!

J
