John Burgess Webb

John Burgess Webb

John Burgess Webb - March 20, 1946 -August 30, 2013

US Marines - Vietnam

I'm so sad to report the passing of John Burgess Webb on August 30, 2013.

We had been concerned because he had not been on "Message Forum" for a while and Teddie Jordan and many of us tried sending him emails which were "undeliverable". We don't have any details, but Gary Keith who had kept in contact with him over the years, was able to find his death notice, no obituary.

  • Texarkana, Texas

Burgess had many health problems and we were all hoping he was just in the hospital. Teddie Jordan knew in April he had been in the hospital for 10 days and that Burgess told him his heart was barely working.

If I find out any more information or someone else has more information, please let me know. Thank you Gary for sending. You can go to this link to see Gary's tribute to Burgess and post your tribute.

UPDate - 9/27/13 - Gary Keith was able to share addtiional information, thank you Gary:

Burgess died of Congestive Heart Failure. Burgess and I were involved in a Vet group in Tomball lead by Dr. Mojie Burgoyne, quite a sweet but tough ol' galShe got Burgess his disability from the Veterans Administration and extended his life another 20 years. She loves her Vets and stays in touch. She called me tonight and gave me the information on Burgess.  Apparently he died in the hospital and was not alone.

May our dear classmate, Burgess, rest in peace. God Bless You, Burge. So sorry we didn't know.  Hugs, Jackie

My prayers go out to John's family and friends. He visited me and Aunt Alva several years ago. He was such a gentleman and so very kind to aunt Alva.

We sure are going to miss you Burge. Fran and I have really enjoyed catching up with you these last five years. The term is over used, but you are truly a gentleman and a scholar!

Rest in peace old friend. 'Til we meet on down this road!

Totally miss our teammate,  in emailing John, got to know him as a totally faithful and caring person even though John knew his outcome, John left me with courage and faith, Semper Fi.
