Well me again Margaret..!   I touhgt I try to here once agin,  I miss talk all everyone!   Tank youse so much for all and preyers and wish wihse.   But gess you can my ttyping abd spelling need sone work.   Daine said would mee...here here diane....

We want to keep Susan in our prayers.

On a scale of 1 to 4 on brain cancer, 1 being the best and 4 being the worst, I have a 4. And it's a rare of a rare form and they still don't know what it is or where it came from and why there are 2 of them.  MD Anderson called me today and want me to be a case study of my brain since I am the only one.  They want to monitor my brain forever.  I asked them if I would get paid, but no reply.  But I will do the study because it could help a lot of people.  It will mean a lot of MRIs and they are already studying my DNA and the tumor's DNA to determine what the heck I got into.  I have 3 MRIs scheduled next week.

But we are feeling positive however this comes out.  I make walk with a limp and talk with a lisp, but I am good because I have walked with a limp my whole life.  All I want to do is be me.  I want to enjoy sunrise and sunset on the hill and hope we can have a party on the hill sometime.  You will recognise me by my Frankenhead and I may be limping and talking funny, but I'll be here.

All the doctors say the surgeon has a magic touch and magic fingers.  He does these surgeries every day.  He is liscensed in many, many countries and teaches at UT Medical school and Baylor Medical. Hope this won't be his first bad day-ha!  I have at least 6 doctors now!  Probably more I don't know about.

We are very grateful for the cards, notes and great encouragement we are getting from all our Waltrip friends.  It helps us.  I know it is helping Susan in this bad time for her.

Keep safe, keep well, Cephus R Hanging In There and Diane! smiley

Beau says the worst part is having to learn the remote control over again, not that I watch anything anyway. But I just like to see what else is on.  Ok that's all folks!

I'd like to ask for prayers for our classmate Ruthellen Winters Schmidt.  She will be having surgery on Monday.  An angioplasty showed blockages of 100% and 90% and she will have a triple bypass and valve replacement.

She is in ICU over this weekend.  I will keep y'all posted next week.

Triple by-pass is scary at first but gets less so every day. After I had mine I was surprised at the number of our friends and family that had come through them. God is always in control and will see you through if we but trust in Him. Prayers for all the class of 64!

Hi All,

My thoughts and prayers are with all of those of you that are either having unresolved medical issues yourselves or have family members or friends facing surgery or affected by COVID. It seems like much of our time these days is spent either going to the dentist, dermo, GP, ‘having ‘procedures’ or going to Walgreens picking up our meds. I never imagined it would be like this………….but I don’t have much of an imagination.

It’s been a while between posts and I have recently been reading others and never knew how many folks read but rarely post on the forum. If I knew so many were reading I may have been more deliberate and truth telling in my previous ramblings, then again, maybe not.

Congratulations to HFD Ret. Captain James E. and Michele Hilsher (and family) on the birth of their new Great Grandson, James Kenneth Herring.  Be Proud Brother.

I now understand why they call it ‘Herd Immunity’ after getting in line at 4 am last Tuesday morning in Robstown with about 7-8,000 others attempting to get vaccinated (5,000 doses available). After about 8 hours waiting, I got #1 Moderna jab and hopefully will get #2 in a few weeks. What-a-relief it is to be half way there!

I have not been fishing much lately cause I’m fat/lazy and it’s cool/windy but this morning I had three juvenile dolphins playing in back about 100’ off the end of my dock for about 30 minutes. They were jumping in the air, sometimes all three at the same time next to each other, turning over in the jump and simply having fun. I don’t think they were feeding at all, just playing around like children in a playground. I felt like the kid in the TV series, Flipper.

Stay safe my friends, ‘dancin’ with dolphins’, wtl

I am adding my continued prayers for Ruthellen, Beau, Susan and others who are facing medical issues.  What unusual times we are facing.  As Ruthellen said, we must leave it all to God.  There may be others out there who also have health needs.  We should never take our good health for granted.  Hugs to you all!

Jimmie Lee Smith (Brawner)

I just got a message from Ruth Ellen's brother, George (who is married to Charles Brawner's sister, Debbie).  He had talked with her surgeon and everything went well.  They ended up doing 4 bypasses and valve repair.  She will be critical for the next 48 hours.  They thank you for all of your prayers.  I'll keep y'all updated as I hear anything new.

Heard from George Winters - Ruth Ellen will be in ICU for about a week.  This morning her vitals were good.  She is supposed to get off the ventilator this morning - YAY!!!!!!!!!!! According to my Daddy and Charles after their heart surgeries, that vent is the worst part.

Beau Wann, Jr.

Hello everyone!  This is the night before surgery and Beau wanted you to have an update now!  He is sleeping it has been a very long two days of tests, consults and MRI- he has had 4 MRIs.  But he got through them and ready for the morning.  He checks in for surgery at 4:45 A.M.  They will do about 3 hours of preparation.  Then the surgery itself will be between 6 and 8 hours.  He will be sedated, then awakened then sedated again.  He has had every kind brain mapping, speech function, motor functioning, and cognitive functioning test  and some we never heard of before.  His speech, writing and spelling have gotten greatly improved since last week.  The steroid must have greatly reduced the swelling.  The surgeon says Saturday and Sunday are typically the worst after surgery days, then everything starts getting better. They do between 100 and 150 of these awake craniotomy with tumor resection every year. Other hospitals may do less than 5 a year.  These were the most encouraging people.  They all seem impressed by Beau's good attitude, sense of humor and how much he is willing to do to improve.

We both want to express our sympathy for Roma and family, prayers for recovery and healing for Ruth Ellen and Susan and anyone else undergoing health issues.  We know everyone doesn't share everything, but prayer from all us prayer warriors is always needed.   So Beau and I are praying for all.  He says he does not want anyone to think he is hogging all the prayers. Everyone needs them at this age and in this crazy world we are in.

Thank you for the cards, prayers, text messages comments on the Forum and emails.  We may not respond to all, but we read and appreaciate them all.

Got to get some rest now, Tomorrow will be a long day.  Will update as I can!

Love to all,

Diane and Beau Cephus R getting this done!
