Beau I can't help but be amazed that you are on the edge of going in for major surgery and yet it is you filling us with light and hope and testimony of the love of our Lord and Creator.  You are a  knight in shining armor that keeps our special Waltrip classmates looking up and finding the bright spots with your humor and wisdom.  Thank you for all you do and know that you are continually in our prayers.  Diane, you are such a special person as well.  Thanks for always caring about us!

Beau Wann, Jr.

It has been a long day! We were up at 3:30, at the hospital by 4:30 and on the surgery floor by 4:45. They prepped and prepped and prepped and started the actual surgery at 8:58. At 12 Noon they finished the awake part of the surgery and took another hour to close up. The surgeon and anesthesiologist said he did great.  Answer all the questions, did what they want him to do. They said the removed all the turmor they could see with the microscope.

I saw Beau in recovery and he was tired, sleepy, but wanted to tell me that he only felt something once, they stopped gave him some more pain ;med. and finished up with no pain or complications.  Beau is on a mid-level care floor, with a night nurse named Lucy who is a believer and prayed with him.  He was very agitated and anxious for about 2 hours, but the night nurse came on at 7 and helped him calm down.  I can't be there unless I plan to stay until they discharge him.  We will talk tomorrow about whether I should stay with him.  He sent me away after recovery, then wanted me back and I wasn't allowed back today.

Pray for him to have peace and calm.  I think this will pass.  He had this after the last surgery.

We are glad to hear Susan is improving and Ruth Ellen is better. We pray for their healling!

Beau maybe discharged Sunday. I'll keep you posted.

Diane about to fall asleep at the wheel ! for Beau Cephus R made it thru surgery hopefully sleeping!

Awesome update Diane - thank you again for thinking of all of us. I hope you are able to get some well deserved rest for yourself.  I'm always in awe of the pace that M. D. Anderson gets things done. Now we will all continue praying and hoping for the best possible outcome.

Beau, it appears all our prayers were answered and we are thankful you have come through this with flying colors! We will continue to pray for your continued healing and that Diane will successfully nurse you through your recuperation until you are once again back to your old self. Praying for a positive prognosis.

Ruth Ellen, our prayers for you were also answered. Rest, heal, and eventually you will enjoy your new lease on life. For that we are thankful! Prayers for Gary as well as he cares for you during your recuperation.

Beau, these special times that God the Father pulls us close to Himself are life changing events.  I know you have had trouble with the anesthesia but I pray that is gone and peace has returned.  We are blessed with M D Anderson.  Praying for your recovery - all the way back to that Rhodes Scholar that we all know and love.  Maybe that was a road scholar.

so sorry to hear about Roma.  Praying for Susan and Ruth Ellen.  It will be difficult for Susan to go home after losing Sam I know.

Forgot to congratulate Jimmy Hilsher for becoming a great grandfather.
wayne, I know how you feel in this old age circus.  I told my family practice doctor that I had too many 'ists' in my life.  Didn't even have to explain it to him.  He said "well there goes that referral to a nephrolog'ist'.  We will do something else.  People in my family rarely lived this long. I'm going to be a great grandmother in August so I need to stay healthy.  We got our first shot on 2/01/ so I am grateful.  Wayne, where did you have to go for your vaccine?  Were you really in a line with that many other people?  My sister drove up and stayed in the car.  She just stuck her arm out and got vaccinated.  Then they stayed for twenty minutes and they drove away.  That was at Astrodome.

Thank the Lord that Beau, Susan and Ruth are doing well. The scripture says there is "safety in abiding in the presence of the Lord." Psalm 91:1&2; He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust. Thank you Lord for your presents in all their lives and keeping them under Your shadow. I will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts.

So happy Beau, Ruth Ellen and Susan are doing well. Those prayers work! Now we pray for healing!  It seems that we are all getting to an age where we are falling apart! I am having lumbar nerve pain problems and I will see a neurosurgeon soon. Pray that I can avoid surgery! I have a new respect for anyone with back pain! Love you guys.

Cephus don't worry about your spelling. It is just so good to be on this side of that scary surgery and home and able to hear from you. Our joint prayers have been answered to have been where you were. And We always thought that Diane was an Angel and now we can prove it. Just rest, both of you, and follow the road map for recovery that you have been given Thank you Lord!

That's great Beau.  Your typing/spelling skills have already improved dramatically.  You'll be back on top in no time.  So glad your home with your beloved, your furry friends and all that wonderful nature to help you through your healing process.  I, for one, am absolutely amazed at what you've been through and the progress you've made in such a short time. Keep up the good work, it's paying off already. 👍

Beau, It is so good to see your name back on The Forum and read your writings which are as good as ever. How remarkable that you have progressed this far, this quickly! Our God is truly awesome that he not only heard but answered our prayers for you. Keep up the good work! I know Diane is the BEST caregiver you could have. The chalkboard and writing accessories are a great idea! Use them as often as is possible. All of us are rooting for you!

Beau...you da man!!  We love your down-home humor and reading your posts. The Lord still has a purpose for you here on this wonderful earth. Recovery from brain surgery can seem a slow progress. It was exactly a year ago that I had brain surgery. It was scary that after surgery I couldn't speak inteligent words or write anything. But...you'll get there my friend. Praying for strength and faith.

Well... Beau, so glad my prayers were answered,I was anxious for you and my co-worker friend, Billy, and his wife in the hospital with Covid...my bestie male friends that I can joke and laugh with, and God's grace you both are here to laugh and continue life with.

Enough of that, hoping we remain safe, group.  I've lost too many church people here in Grimes county because they won't wear their masks.

I'm working as an antiques vendor in an antique store in Navasota, Tx.  It is enjoyable and I'm getting rid of things that has been in this house too long.  Our "coin man" is our Covid victim, and has been moved to Rehab, doing phy therapy now.  I am doubling two shifts a week to cover, he is hilarious. Each vendor has to work free 1 day a week.

Just returned, not too many customers because of the weather today.

Beau,

So glad to hear you are back on the right side of Life’s Highway (290?) up on your Hill where you belong.

We are all very lucky to have the #1 ranked cancer care hospital in the US right in our own back yard, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center with some of the brightest minds in the world at our beck and call and apparently you were fortunate to get treated as quickly as you did.

I hope you continue to recover from surgery, heal, feel better (do as Diane tells you) and maybe we can all get together again when this COVID mess is subdued.

Keep us laugh’n with your posts, wtl
