Susan I'm with you --- so heart warming and plenty of tears!   The reunion committee and our Waltrip family are the greatest!!!  We make a great team of Champions.  We will all continue to share our love and support for one another as long as we can with God's Blessings.

As I've stated before,  when I created the website May 6, 2008,  I didn't have a clue of what I was doing -- it was truly God sent to be where we are today.  And it all started with Jimmie Sue Roach asking Jimmie Lee Smith has anyone thought about a '64 website.  Jimmie Lee passed it on to me and so there you go!!!  It has truly been a rewarding loving experience for me to get our Waltrip family back together again.

Five more days before our BIG EVENT and we have 143 attendees - cannot wait to see everyone!!

Everyone be careful and remember directions to Woodlands Resort are on homepage ---

Also note -- there's construction on 45 and some remodeling at Woodlands Resort, so please allow additional time. For your convenience at hotel there are golfcart shuttles running back and forth from parking lots, catch a ride!  There's also valet parking

Hugs and love,

J

I have to agree with all the wonderful and kind comments about the reunion.  Reading the comments brought tears to my eyes.  We are so blessed to have so many classmates who have continued  this life long journey, some of us since first grade.  On many occassions we have cried, prayed, and laughed together.  God has blessed us with the best Class of Champions ever.  I feel blessed to work on a committee with many dedicated  people.  It takes an entire class to make this happen,  without your attendance and support we could not do what we do.  Thank you so much for your support.  I look forwarding to seeing everyone this weekend.

Amen Lynn!

And when I go down the list of those that are attending the Saturday night function, plus those that I've heard are unable to come on Saturday but plan on coming Friday night, I get excited. So many old friends that I hope to get to shake, and howdy, and hug, and catch up with that I wonder if there will be enough time? It's going to be fun!

Oh, and sorry to say we won't be able to make Fudd's tomorrow night as we have a 7th grader, James Theodore, playing in a big football game and we must be there. They are 5-0 and not only undefeated but so far un scored upon! And did I mention that James plays defensive cornerback?

We will not be at Fudds either.   Kooper our 7 year old grandson plays for the Tomball Little League River Bandits machine pitch  baseball team.  He has an eight o'clock game tonight.  His team is undefeated.  This is Kooper's first time to ever play ball, we are still praying for him to get a hit before the season is over.  He would be  so excited if he could just hit one ball in a real game.  Ted good luck to your grandson's football team I hope their winning streak continues.  So glad  blessed us with these precious grandkids.

Lynn, we'll pray for Kooper to get his first hit too! Three years ago granddaughter Jordan was seven and decided she wanted to play softball. We went to the first game and anxiously watched as she struck out her first three times at the plate. Her other grand parents were there too and we all were nervous wrecks and praying hard the fourth time she came up to bat. But true to her personality she was not a bit concerned herself, smiling and enjoying the whole experience. Sure enough our collective hopes were answered when she made contact and nubbed one out to the pitcher. At that level almost any contact becomes a base hit and of course we all jumped up and cheered as she stood on first base grinning.. Fun stuff for sure!

After that experience I conducted weekly batting practice in our backyard using tennis balls and a big plastic bat to improve her eye, and we all had a good time doing it,

We will be there and pay at the door.  Beau dear, I went to visit the apple staff today.  He had to be at least nineteen.  Problem was solved.  My 15 year old granddaughter had hijacked my iPad!  Her mom was not amused.  All is right with the world now as soon as I sync my iPad and iPod.

Hey Pat, glad you got it all resolved and yes, we'll see you at reunion!!!

Had a fun time at Fudd's tonight, smaller group but still lots of laughs!   I'll post the few pictures I took tomorrow.

Hugs,

J

What a great time it was last night kicking off our reunion weekend by seeing so many old friends that we have not seen in many years. I was sitting drinking my coffee this morning and thinking about how amazing it is that you can walk into a place and be 68 years old, and twenty minutes later be about 17 again! Pretty special.

Leron and I had a great time reminiscing at the reunion. I hope I didn't offend anyone when I couldn't remember them right away too many years and too much water under the bridge. It was very well done. Thanks to all that put it together for the rest of us slackers.

What a great reunion at The Woodlands Resort.  I agree that the clock turned back and we were all again those seniors of 1964!  I want to thank the committee for all the work and preparation that concluded in a terrific event from the cocktail time on Friday night through the fancy dinner and dance on Saturday night.  There aren't enough superlatives to properly describe the overall flavor of the weekend.  I, for one, enjoyed it beyond measure.  It was great to see so many people and become reacquainted again.  It was terrific that Barbara and Henny could make it and join in on the fun.   Thanks again everyone and I hope to stay in touch with many of you now that we've rediscovered one another.

Beau, back to the computer with gremlins!  Fifteen year old genius said he fixed it.  My grandughter (also 15) says he doesn't know what he's talking about.  The battle of the twerps has begun.  I am taking her to genius child so she can tell him all of his mistakes.  It won't matter if he is right or wrong, he will back off and say sorry. This should be on you tube.  My poor daughter is so easy going and she has two assertive kids and an assertive husband.  She only has one other daughter and that sweetheart is off writing science fiction in a tree.  I am sorry we had to leave before the Saturday event.  If anyone finds Doug Romans, tell him I am looking for him.  Also if skeeter is on post ask him how he hooked up with john carrick?  Please post pictures soon.

Beau Wann, Jr.

Yeah, that's what I'm talkin about!  Great reunion...Didnt get to talk to everyone, but my loss...I thought I saw some folks runnin away as I approached.    They were probably scared that I talk as long as I write! ! !      Well, they are correct, especially when talking about Cooper and his amazing feats with the children and adults he works with.

Just ask Betty Sherman...captured her, bent her ear, and never saw her again the rest of the evening!        She was a good sport though...also cornered the Dents Friday eenin and again good sports...I guess I talk about current events more so than moldie oldie stuff...cause I cant remember the moldie oldie stuff as well as I can the newie dewie stuff...and soon enough, I will forget it tooie!

WELLLLLLL, sorry folks, dont know when I got so long winded, probably about the time Jackie started this website....I mean well ! ! !   Yeah yeah yeah, I know, the road to hell is paved with well meaning folks, right?

My beloved, Diane, told me to express her gratitude to all the folks that included her in the reunion, SHE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME... Her crippled up OLD husband even danced one dance with her...speakin of which, I sorta wished we woulda hired the DJ that we had at the 45th...he was expensive, but at $0 salary, I believe I woulda doubled it...I asked the band if they knew "WIPE OUT"!   "What"???? How about HONKY TONK?   Ok, never mind....

The band was good though, one of em even had a cowboy hat on! Now that's ok in my book!  The committee was concerned that I wouldnt have any fun if I had to DJ, bless em, but I have more fun when I'm actually a part of the festivities, and not necessarily the memory part....Howsomever, it's a good thing I didnt DJ, because all my equipment has been in storage a year, and my puter with all my music is actin a fool...so, we had a good band and good time, so all's well that ends well...didnt want it to end though!

Hey Pat, I had Dr's Taylor and Oliver over, working on my puter...it's a commodore 64...once they stopped laughing,     well they started laughing some more....I think they just wanted to see one of those  bad boys for old times sake...I must say, they had an amusing Sunday nafteroon!   Dr Taylor sent an ad to me from FRYs for an HP with 4 gig on the mother board and 500 gig on the hard drive for 247.00 dollars...I think I'm gonna have to go with that one...I sure hate to abandon that good ol 20th century technology of the commodore 64, but what the heck, gotta throw caution to the wind oncet in a while!

Ok, smoke alarm is going off...dinner's ready
Keep the sun at your back, wind in your face, and your eyes along the skyline...and ride boldly ride

Thank you, to all of those on the reunion commettee, for an absolutely AWESOME reunion.  The entire weekend was wonderful.  Loved The Woodlands Resort.  It was so nice not having to drive to the events. It was so good to reconnect with friends that I had lost contact with.  The love that I felt in that room was something that I will carry with me for the rest of my days. I can't thank you all enough. I hope all had safe travels home.  Love to all. Prayers and Blessings!

Beau, I tried to talk with you several times, but we couldn't hear each other (or else you were ignoring me).  I had great dog stories to share with you about Allie cat my wonder Australian shepherd.  My friends keep telling me she needs some sheep or cows to occupy her time, but I don't have the space.  She opens doors, climbs into the pantry and steals the food and then hides it all over the house for snacking later.  I am not kidding.  She ate at least fifteen packets of peanut butter crackers and hid eight more under couch cushions, behind furniture and under the pillows upstairs in the guest room.  I thought I found all of them, but a few days later I found a few more wrappers in my study.  I can only hope she doesn't learn how to open the refrigerator.  If I can figure out how to post a picture of her I will do it just to brag.  How silly is that?  Not bragging on my grandchildren, just my overweight, food obsessed dog.
