Just returned home from attending two beautiful services celebrating the lives of Nanny Sheffield, Johnny's mother ---- and Mac (DW) McDonald, Glenda's dad. Such loving parents of such loving families.

Barbara Porter and I went together and were honored to share with these wonderful families their heartwarming "farewell" to their love one.

Great to see all of the rest of you who attended.

Hugs,

Ha, Ha too funny Teddy....I think that was a "lovely" idea!  Last week they had a Puerto Rican in a boxing ring standing up w/ boxing gloves in the funeral home, you can look it up!  Only thing, I hated the fact this boy was killed early and left his wife and son, who took photos w/ his body in the ring.....enough, all right! It was eerie!

I visited Galveston for several days at sis, Sues Bayou Vista home and we shooped Post Office Street, antique stores, inside and outside seating at coffee (a la Starbucks style)  They are gearing up for the Gal. Mardi Gras to happen.  Bought a mask and hat, etc

If you visit their eating establishments, great food, but Sue and her friends have each day down for senior discounts and specials....fun to be had.  hey, want me to move out there and are all attending fun places with us, but after driving 4 hrs. to get home today, I'm afraid it may not happen.  Missed my country and the  no traffic, and came back to cold country!  I found some brass rubbings (grave pics) in beautiful frames and convinced her to get em....she had never seen these.  Dan Baker's family had some really beautiful ones and I really like these.

I have really enjoyed your memories of all the old restaurants, we went to a lot of them, including Art Wren's.  We felt so important, trying to overhear tables around us!  Mom was so good to us, driving us to all the places!  (We lost our dad at 10 yrs old, I remember Sunday dinner stopped), Mom worked in the office at Fonville Jr. High and so it was Mom and us and we all lived casually and pretty much cooked and cleaned together. Did attend the Bapt. Church (Oak Forest) and Sue and I joined All Saints Catholic churce after that.

My deepest sympathy to Glenda and Larry Smith on the passing of Glenda's dad and also to Johnny and Becky Shefield on the passing of Johnny's mother.  I know that they were fantastic people and I would have loved to have met them.  May God bless you and give you strength in your time of sorrow.

Wayne, I'm sorry to have missed seeing you at fuddruckers.  Hope you are coming to the reunion.  I want to hear more stories.  I have a sleigh ride from hell to tell you about so you can write that one.

Pat, I look forward to it but I may have to tell your story in the 1st person in order to sound more believable.

Deepest sympathies to Johnny, Glenda and their families.

Michele Hilsher’s brother passed away Wednesday after a very brief battle with pancreatic cancer, he was diagnosed only a month ago.

Be thankful for every day you have with loved ones.

Wayne
