Think I'll make it to Fudd's on Tuesday, finally.  I need to be in Houston on Tuesday and Wednesday to do some things for my mom and I timed it so that I could make it to Fudd's!  I hope there is a great turn out - especially since it is the holidays!  I have a lot of catching up to do!

By the way, Beau, my cat quit being naughty!  Guess he was just po'd at me about  something!  Thanks for your advice!

See ya'll on Tuesday!

Beau Wann, Jr.

Thats good news Susan...sometimes it doesnt take much for a cat to be upset with us...glad you will be at fudds finally...Thats our youngest grandaughters 12th birthday...dont think they have anything planned...so we will probably be at fudds...

YEAAAA Jimmy and the results of the cutting contest...just having your grandson interested in the samething you are, has  got to be a button poppin proud moment, let alone him competing and finishing in the top 10??? He did finish 10th right???? I just read it, and now I cant remember...well, he and you did well, congratulations...

Wreaths across america was today at the National VA cemetery...had a million wreaths and then some...lots and lots of volunteers, in fact, this is the largest of all the wreath laying ceremonies...way to go people of Houston....

Ok youse youtes, we have a MAJOR undertaking confronting us...Lindsey Apostolo is really going through HELL, AND THEN SOME...so much pain, so much pain meds, that arent working...this beautiful young woman isnt even 30 yet, and is in the fight of her life...maybe if we could ALL COLLECTIVELY PRAY FOR HER, AT A SET TIME EACH DAY, OR MAYBE TWO TIMES A DAY, ALL AT THE PRECISE AGREED UPON MOMENT....??????
What do you think????? Think we can do it???? IT IS WORTH A TRY!!!!!

There is an excercise called "alpha thinking", or going down into the levels of you mind...conjuring up a "movie screen" in your mind, and visualize Lindsey on this screen, and surround her in a healing bright white light...and just visualize her pain gone, her cancer gone, and that she is once again a healthy young woman again...I also visualize what Jesus must look like, and put him with her, or whoever I try to help...I dont remember an instance where I ACTUALLY HELPED ANYONE, BUT IT'S WORTH A TRY...CANT HURT ANYTHING, AND CAN ONLY HELP, DONTCHA THINK????? Power and safety in numbers, right???

Maybe 9 AM and 9 PM for 5 minutes...miracles happen all the time, why not now, why not here, why not Lindsey????

Let me know what youse youtes think...if I could give her MY health, I would, cept she would still hurt, but at least she would be ok...methinks???

Well, ok, guess I will sing off for now...

Teddie,  thanks for posting for me, and thanks to all who posted congrats.  It was very exciting, but tough when it's your horse and grandson out there.  I've been to many cuttings, but never had my heart racing like it was Wednesday at the semi-finals.  It was actually harder on me than the finals.  Had a cow that was doing everything in it's power to get by and that would have been a zero, no matter how good you had done before then.  Beau, thanks so much for posting about Lindsey, will be praying with you at those times.  There is a Christian song tiltled "I can only Imagine", and at these times I can only imagine what Skeeter and his family is having to go through.  That's when we can only pray for peace that passes all understanding.  I know how much God loves us, but with so much of our natural minds and trying to understand it all, I then realize with my little pea brain mind I can't figure it out, so I will have to just trust God.

Beau, you are what the Christmas season is or should be all about and it should be all year long.  Lindsey has been in my daily prayers for months, and for us to all do it at the same time each day, plus all of the other times we think of her and her family - there has to be a positive effect.  She is amazing - I've told her through the Caring Bridge that she is my hero. She has more courage and faith than is imagineable and still manages to keep her sense of humor.  When I think times are tough in my life I just reflect on all she has been through and is going through and I realize I don't know what tough times are.  Thank you for such a thoughtful idea and for bringing us together once again on this.  Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night.

Beau Wann, Jr.

Susan, thank you, you are too kind...I just want to be helpful to any and everyone that I can...I wasnt always this way...It just feels so good to be helpful, whether it's anonymous or not...not so much the part where I helped, but that whatever needed to be done, got done...or at least is being worked on...I sure hope we can make a difference in Lindseys life...I too, carry her in my thoughts daily, and at the prescribed 9AM and 9PM...It does work...lets hope it does this time...

Me and Coop skipped our little country church in the city Sunday, and went to the church at 11th and T C Jester...dont know the name of it, but it was The Evangelistic Temple methinks...now it is an all inclusive non denomination church...anyway, me and coop and Mary (bak pak director) and one of her dogs, and another lady and her dog Chloe, visited that church, and put on a reading demonstration for the "at risk" kiddos...there were about 3 dozen, and they were just great, and seemed to enjoy their time with the dogs...

They got a visit from Santa (really looked like the proverbial Coca Cola Santa)...Cooper and I walked through the gym where Santa was, and the kids abandoned Santa and swarmed around Coop...THA ROCK STAR...

Most of em were wearing black, and took a little bit of Coop home with em...I brushed that boy for two days straight, using the furminator and two other brushes, and he still sheds...you just touch him, and poof, fur comes off him like blowing on a dandelion...they also had black or dark short knap carpet, and when we got up to go, looked like he was still laying there...I apologized for his shedding...hope they have a good vacuum cleaner..

Hey Jimmy, I keep going back looking at your grandson and Shimmer during cutting trials...great picture...good looking young man...guess he gets that from his grand dad, eh what...I love watching the cutting horses...takes a special horse, trainer, and rider...ought to be an olympic sport, curling is...and cutting horse comp is much more exciting than curling, methinks...and much more productive, than slinging a whatever it is they sling down the ice, then sweep the ice with brooms...what does that acomplish in life???? Cutting horse comp could just very well, be selecting where folks next steak's gonna come from...

Time to sing off...hurting bad...guess I shouldnt have moved that furniture....I moved my desk out of the office, and moved it into Haleys room...she never comes over anymore, and when she does, she and the dogs sleep downstairs on all the pillows in the house...so, command central has moved, yet again...upstairs, downstairs, upstairs, downstairs, upstairs, and now across the hall...I'm just never satisfied...but, I think this is how it's gonna stay forever, or till we move, whichever comes first...

Been watching all the apocolypse shows on 12-21-12...DA END OF DA WHOIRLD...it may very well be the end of the whirld, but not because anyone predicted it, OR KNOWS !!!! The Bible says KNOW ONE KNOWS, NOT EVEN GOD...accordian to Jesus, if you place such store in him...and I'm gonna have to go with Jesus on this one...and anything else he says...but it's kind of interesting to hear all the scenarios people have concocted and conjured up...they even did a series on "PLANET EARTH AFTER WE HAVE GONE" or some such title...I mean, if we are gone...who's gonna know...who's gonna care...
I believe I was gonna sign off wasnt I...hmmmm, just cant say goodnight can I...Goodnight...

your frien and brother

Greetings from CS... still no snow, but the drizzle has begun.

I was so glad to see ya'll Tuesday evening at Fudd's. You already know what a great bunch of folks is the 60's era kids from Waltrip, but "outsiders" are amazed at the fun and camaraderie we share.

I am sure that more information will come regarding April 14 2012, but mark it on your calendar. Beau, better dust off the music 'cause I've got new dancing shoes !!!

Hugs

Paige

What fun at Fudd's on Tuesday night!  It was great to see everyone who turned out and get caught up on some of your lives!  There were several folks I didn't get a chance to visit with, but will try to do better next time!  April 14th is on my calendar - mark it on yours, too!  Another time to be together!  Thanks, Johnny, and Jackie for getting it going.  Count me in to help in any way you need me!

We will be burning up 290 for the next 10 days - going back to Houston on Saturday for our grandson's birthday - he will be 3 already!  Back home, then driving down on the 23rd for Christmas.  The main reason we moved back is to be closer to some of our family and it is a joy to be able to be more a part of daily activities and celebrations!  Plus being closer to my friends is a wonderful added bonus!  Paige told me on Tuesday night, "This is such a good thing!" (referring to my moving back)!  I couldn't say it better - It is such a good thing!

Merry Christmas, everyone, and a blessed and Happy New Year!

Susan it was good to see you and welcome back to Texas.

I don't know about yall but sometimes when I have a few minutes to spare I'll go back on this Forum and just randomly pick an old page and reread it. I just love reading the stories about the good old days.

It is great entertainment and wonderful memories. Thanks to all for sharing.

Yes, it was a wonderful evening at Fudd's even if I did have a cold and was feeling miserable!  But just being there always brings a smile!!!  And it was wonderful to see Susan and have her back in Texas - welcome home!

Mark your calendar -- Johnny Sheffield is the planner - the official date has been set for our "mini-reunion".  It will be Saturday, April 14 at Clay's - 17717 Clay Road, we'll have our own private Pavallion, and details will be posted on homepage soon.  It will be the same type of setup as Fuddrucker's, but hopefully on a larger scale so our "OUT OF TOWNERS" can join us.  Just show ----- food and drinks will be at your own expense.  Time will be 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Barbara Raines and I and others will be helping Johnny, so if you have any questions, let us know.

This is the private Pavallion in the back of Clay's Restaurant

Also, this is our first stage of planning our 50th reunion in 2014!  We are open for suggestions and a "Suggestion Box" will be at Clay's.  This is giving you plenty of time to put your "thinking caps" on -- we want our 50th to be the best!!!

Come on and kick up your heels and join us in April for our "Mini Reunion"

Fuddrucker pictures will be posted soon.

Hugs and sniffles!

J

Teddie the new memories that you're creating now are important too. If you noticed Paige mentioned that she has some new dancing shoes. Well that's for good reason. This Saturday that girl gets to go to the Christmas party at the SPJST Lodge Hall on Beall street!!!! Wheeeewww doggies if that won't create fond memories I don't know what will. She's probably just happy we're doing something that doesn't involve a football,  a basketball or a baseball.

Just to keep you aprised of something athletic, the HBU men's basketball team has won their last two games. They have a streak going. I think it may come to an end this Saturday though. They're in Omaha to play Creighton. Creighton is ranked #25 in the country. The bigger they are the harder they fall, right?

It was a really good gathering at Fudd's Tuesday.. It was finer than a frog hair split three ways.

Everyone have a great weekend. I've got to head on down the road to let Liz the wonder dog out to get some exercise. It may be a damp weekend so keep your powder dry.

Keep on dancing (at SPJST or a place of your choosing)

Rich LH

Stay Calm, Shop On (tis the season)

Grandkids, Ben 10 and Zazie 9 just left after spending last night. Ferrell and I are ready for a nap! On the grandchildren front, daughter Leslie adopted two boys from Ethiopia, Abrahim 4 and Charlie 1. They are really a handful but we are so glad that they will have a wonderful life here in Texas. Abi scared me yesterday on our walk after riding his bike carefully and safely with me for about a half a mile he would not stop as we turned on the last street despite by yelling and crossed a very busy street. Luckily no traffic but man I was having a heart attack!

A Christmas traditions that has faded with the years. This little ones have grown up some. The "Jesus" is 7 years old and uses the name Marianne. Mary and Joseph pose as Madeleine (11 and Jacob (9) now. The Angel that brought the joyous (see photo 2 for "joyous") message flits about as Hannah (13). The stable is the back fence. Per Jacob's tale of the Birthday Party, everyone had a good time singing around the 1st Christmas Tree (stage right - Christmas Tree).

Christmas past brings a smile to my heart... I am blessed beyond measure.

Merry Christmas...

Paige

Here's my latest Christmas pic - James - 8 months old yesterday - getting ready for Santa!  This will be a really fun Christmas with him and family!  And then I'm leaving on Dec. 26 for Kansas to see my other two grandsons!!  Happy Days!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year - 2012!

Fran and I are just back from celebrating an early Christmas, and scratching off a bucket list item and making memories with our family in beautiful Telluride, Colorado.

Merry Christmas classmates from both of us and from all of our clan.

( I took this picture with the timed delay option on my camera and would set it off then run to get in the picture. I had two little tables stacked one on top of the other with the camera perched precariously atop the stack. This was about the fifth or sixth take. My family was entertained and giving me hell every time, hurry Pop, hurry!)

John Burgess Webb

hey teddie, that picture of telluride brought back great memories for me;engineer mountain in the background.i moved up to durango to work on a cryogenic project installing two ge turbine generators in ignatio;i stayed on after the project and worked for roundtree engineering;surveying in the mountains and in durango.it was so fine to wake up every morning and smell the fir and blue spruce trees;almost like christmas every day, even in the summer.up in the mountains with a four man crew was the closest to finding the work i loved even though it paid less than engineering survey on highrises and commercial plants.traversing a line in the mountains means triangulating almost every set-up and tought me the trigonometry i so dredded in school...not simple but rewarding in its application.the rockies are beautiful but rugged;we had elk walk up to 50 feet from us and paid no mind,it was fine.

im going to try to make it down ther for the april meeting, not sure because of tests the va is doing on an embolism in the aorta,i may have another heart surgery.the va doctor says it is a condition showing up connected to agent orange.ive lived longer than i figured.the surgeon that did my bypass told  a vet that had quaddrouple bypass just about a month ago that he has done over 30 vietnam vets this year.i make no plans and expect nothing;long story.

very merry christmas to everybody and enjoy every day in the new year;never sweat the small stuff.prayers to those who suffer and blessings to all.

burge

Richard Meek '65

I'd just like to add an addendum to Burge's thought about "don't sweat the small stuff". . . it's all small stuff.

Burge I really hope you can make it in April. As Beau attests there is healing power in communicating with and being with friends.

I hope that when you're all offering prayers during the holidays you'll remember the American troops still in Iraq (6,000) and Afghanistan. They're all in harm's way.

Paige and I will be spending Christmas Eve with her family and Christmas Day with mine. Then on the 26th we'll do a comparison to see which bunch is the craziest. So far they're running neck and neck.

Merry Christmas All,

Rich LH
