CITIZENS ARAAAEST, CITIZENS ARAAAEST...Thats one bad boy that wont menace some pore unsuspecting fambly...probably deals in drugs too...drugs that kill...Teddie, glad your protecting our border...

Had I seen that bad boy, wouldnta been that much left to hold up...If there had been, I'da used the proverbial 10 ft pole...10ft???? more like 20 ft...after the use of the Robert D 12 ga gopher gun of course...

Remember Fudd's tomorrow night!  Jimmie Lee and Charles sounds like a GRAND trip and looking forward to seeing y'all at Fudd's!

Also, Teddie what a picture - too scary!   I'd rather look at the one of you and your grandsons -- and also Beau, love Cooper and Jack's halloween pics -- I have to post them on Homepage!  Sorry Teddie, I'll pass on the snake one!!

Kay, hope you are doing better - watch out for those obstacles!  Wayne, enjoyed your descriptions of  your traveling places!

See y'all tomorrow at Fudd's!

Hugs,

J

Lordy Lordy, I've been laughing so much in here that the Chinese came to see what was up!!!

We have just tooooo much fun. Calendar has gotten crossed up, crossed out and rewritten. I won't be able to make Fudd's tonight. There is some high steppin out to do. Reservations are locked-up, sealed-tight and signed in blood, although NOT written on the calendar (see "rewritten" above).

I'll miss everyone. Jimmie Lee, how about posting some travel pixs?

My family showed up Saturday and we all went in Sane moving Mom's stuff. Hiring movers was good money spent. I am sure that we would still be facing more of this struggle in the weeks to come had it not been for their expertise. If you need movers in the Woodlands / Spring / North Houston area, let me know. This was a good experience and I will gladly recommend them. Let me rephrase that... working with the movers was a "good experience". It was not overly wonderful to be in the dirt and dank of moving "older" stuff.

Again, thanks to all those who offered to help. Hugs...

Paige

Hey Scotty, I thought my eyes were bad...Yup, Ol Ted is just a grinin and holdin up a blue pole...when you get our age, you have to seek fun where you can find it, even if it is just a ol blue pole...WITH A STINKIN MUTANT GIANT IDGIT MEAN BAD AND NASTY SNAKE hangin offin it...

Like I said, ifin it had been me, I'd a just kept shootin at em with the Robert Derrick 12 ga gopher gun, till he/it was blowed plum offin my property, or blowed to small smithereen itty bitty bits, non recognizable as anything other than an amoeba...NO SNAKES!!!!!!

Paige Honey, so sorry I couldnt be there to hep you in your hour of need...first time I've ever had to decline my hep...just kills my soul not to be useful and helpful...I suppose thats why my back and legs and shoulders and arms and legs, oh I mentioned legs didnt eye, well, thats ok because I have two of em, hands and arms and wrists and fingers and anything else that requires movement, hurts...hey, some good news, my left ear doesnt hurt and might could be hepful...uh, no, that would be my bad ear, but not as bad as my really bad right ear...my nose seems ok at the moment...none of the above could be the result of old age now could it!!!! I didnt think so...

Me and the rock star Cooper went to a book fair in Cy-Fair at Sampson Elem...It was great...8 dogs in attendance...Ol Coop let out his window rattlin, "Elvis is in the building", bark...he just delights in announcing his arrival...me too...

We didnt stay for the whole fair, about 90 minutes is the vet and dog therapist agreed upon time to stay at any one event, to avoid burnout...Maybe for a lesser dog, but ol coop is in heaven with all the little people gathered around petting him...Adults too...but we stayed just a shade over 90 mins...The kids were lined up like they were going to see Santa Claus, at each pups spot...more pictures were taken of kids and dogs, that at a birthday party...

Since we missed supper, Cooper talked me into stopping at Mickey D's for some good old fashion chicken McNuggets and fraanch frahs...first time I have been there in 30 years...still the same food, frahed and drahed out...Ah guess thats why they offer you so many choices of sauce...well,  hungry fellows like me and Coop, made do and enjoyed it, sorta...we ate our fare and then sang "old macdonald has a farm" on the way home, till cooper fell asleep. I would have, cept I was the fool drivin...

Looks like we're in for a bumpy evening at fudddddddzzzzzzz, that is if the weather people are correct in  their prognostications...generally never are though...

NEWS FLASH: PECANS HAVE JUMPED FROM 3 DOLLARS A POUND TO 11 DOLLARS A POUND...Dang, there goes my Karo Nut Pie, (for you yankees out there, that is pecan pie)...
Whats next???? GRITS????? Ha, got 25 pounds o 20 min grits and about 10 pounds of 5 minute make do grits...

Ok, got to get the little executive woman off to work, so I can lay around and eat bon bons all day...yeah right!!!!!!!!

Mornin' to all you Waltripians, DOD and WTL you guys are too much. With all the positive things laughing does for you I must be in better shape today than yesterday. Keep it up.

Beau, I just need a little clarification on the details of yours and Coopers trip to the book fair. I understood about Coop letting loose with one of his window rattlin' barks when he entered the room and he enjoyed it. Now where I need the clarification is on your addition of "me too". Does that mean that you enjoyed Coop's bark or does that mean you're now barking to announce your entrance into a room? I just want to get the right slant on this story.

Ted that is a good sized snake you terminated. Do you plan on bringing fried rattler and Jalapeno appetizers to Fudd's tonight? That could make it a memorable meeting.

Everyone be sure and not forget to get in your vehicle of your choice and come to the irregularly scheduled WABEC meeting this Saturday at Abuelo's Restaurant in College Station. It is located on University just a little west of HWY 6. Starts at 1:00. They're open until 10:00 so you can eat and socialize as long as you want to . The business part of the meeting will take about 30 seconds. Hopefully Wayne Lake will be there with Viking headgear on. Beau is in favor of distinctive headgear for the meetings. I think he is in favor of using the Knights of The Mystic Sea Lodge as a model. This is a great opportunity to see the Bush Library and break bread with fellow Waltripians. College Station is a happening place nowadays. It's changed a lot since we were at Waltrip. College Station/Bryan now has a population of about 200,000. Good food, Good Friends and Good Conversation a good combination for Saturday afternoon. See you all there.

Keep on dancing,

Oh My, Ya'll, is this what we've come to ????  The ole man's "blue pole" disease???

Darn Ted, that was a close one....that's when I find my snakes when I'm not lookin.....and why isn't that "night" crawler doin it's thing at night????  I still look around when I turn on my lights in bathrooms and kitchen to see if there are any more snakes on the floor....No, I'm not smokin the mushrooms.....Beau.

Just foolin, couldn't resist it!!  Ya'll can tell I've recovered from the dread sleep disease and rib disaster...that was the 'ole Senior lady's entanglement with a branch disease!!

Well, why don't cha just cancel tonight because of the hopedful RAIN thunder and light show, and come on down to Bryan on Sat.  LOL.  Mexican food, Margaritas and different senario, plus Robby is wanting to dance, so show up Robby!

Wonder if we should get 'ole Jack and Cooper to come to Richards.  Beats our Kindergarten teacher wanting to bring her cat tomorrow to catch the mouse who was seen beating a path today betwee Kind. and Pre-K.  What next?

Paige I'm sure glad you got some "GOOD" help, not a fun task to do....I'm sure most of us have seen better days when we would have joyfully volunteered to tackle those proj., just want to let out to bask in the sun and watch the younger ones do it now.  I, for one, am leaving house packed with "stuff" to the gills, to the younger ones who inherit the house.....I ain't doin it!  I got it in there, maintained the durn thing and they can do the rest.  I faithfully watch Antique Roadshow, in hopes that all the country junk I've collected since 1970 will magically appear and be worth many thousands....but alas, my choices and gifts do not fit in with this category!  I love to watch their faces when they think they have something valuable fall when even civil wars things sometimes don't bring but a thousand....poo!

Please take care and hopefully don't let the beavers get ya.....(they are back!!!)

Larry & I sure had fun last night seeing everyone at Fuddruckers--it was a very

rainy night, so some people were not in attendance that usually show up. But,

all in all we enjoyed the fridenships and it was good to see everyone.  We hope

to attend more on a regular basis.  The High School friendships are special, we

all grew-up together and when we all get together, or message forums, or e-mails

it is like we pick up where we left off.  Waltrip friends are very special

friendships, like no other--because of all the teen-age years, memories shared                          and growing into young adults together.  Til we meet again, and to more Fun Times!

Amen!!  So much fun last night --- sorry for those that didn't show because of the weather.  We were honored to have Larry and Glenda and Jimmie Lee and Charles there.  I've never laughed so much!

Remember, we are working with Johnny S for a mini-reunion at Clays on a Saturday evening, hopefully in March.  He's working with Clays to see when would be the best time.

I'll try to post Fuddrucker pictures today -- if not, promise tomorrow!

Gooooood afternoon Waltripians. I hope you're doing well today. It is just a knockout day. If we had this kind of weather all the time there would be 10Million people living in Houston. I hope most of you are planning making a drive to College Station this Saturday for the WABEC meeting. That would be at Abuelo's on University just west of Hwy 6 at 1:00. Either before, after or on Sunday there is plenty of things to do. Go to the Bush Library, Messina Hof Winery. tout the A&M campus, go dancing on Saturday night etc. There's plenty of hotels in a wide price range if you want to stay overnight. so come on an join. Get out of your recliner for a change. it will do you good. If you wouldn't mind I would like to give the restaurant a rough head count. So if you would let me know if you're coming and how many you're bringing with you. If you don't want to state your intentions on the Forum, email me at rmeek@bellgroup.com.   Using this email will not obligate you to buy insurance. You might run into President Bush, 41 at the Library. He's up there a lot. What ever you do. . .  . .

Veteran's Day. Flags were posted up and down the street and they waved in the wind. Only an American Flag brings such stirrings in my heart. I visited my Mom this morning at Magnified. She and I went to the dining room.  Breakfast was being served. Men and women sat still waiting for a cup of coffee or that bowl of oatmeal. I passed among them and many wore some indication that they had served our country. I spoke to each and thanked them for their service. To a one, a gleam sparkled in their eyes and very frail bodies straighten just a bit; some with a smile, some with a tear, all with pride.

Harold Shanks - Navy (Grand-daddy)

George Talley, Airforce (Daddy)

Tim Thomasson, Army (Son)

Thanks to my son, Tim, and to each of you who have served...

Happy Veterans Day - especially to all of those of you who have served our country in the military.  There is a Veteran's Memorial here at Sun City and it is beautiful!  We have a lot of veterans who live here.  So, once again, thank you for your sacrifice and commitment to help keep me and the people I love safe.  I am so proud of you and can never say "THANK YOU" enough!

I need some help here from all of you animal lovers - especially those of you who have cats.  For some reason our cat has decided to use our oriental rug as his poop potty - he has never done this before and I can't figure it out.  Pet Smart recommended a product called Boundary.  I used it for 3 days and he stopped, but didn't use it yesterday and he left a little present for me this morning.  Ugh!  Any suggestions other than taking up the rug?  Getting rid of the cat is NOT an option!  Thanks!  Any suggestions would be appreciated!  Beau, I know you have a lot of cats - so what is the answer?

I'm gonna make it to Fudd's one of these days!  I am already planning on Dec. 6, assuming we get together in December.  Great pictures, Jackie!  I can't believe Jimmy and Charles look so good after driving 4000 miles!

11/11/11 11:37 AM #4523

Jackie Crowe (Finch)

Hi Susan,

Well good luck with your cat -- I don't have one -- so no advice!

Be sure and mark your calendar for December 13 for Fudd's - it's the second Tuesday of the month.

Hugs,

J

Susan Howard (Bowman)

Thanks, Jackie!  I have Dec. 13th on my calendar!  That is actually better for me (I knew it was the 2nd Tues.- duh!)  You have the first Christmas with your new grandson coming up! What fun!  It's hard to believe the holidays are upon us!  I need to get my shopping started!  I am usually done by now because everything had to be mailed!  I still have to mail a lot, although not quite as much as before!

It is such a beautiful day here!  So good to be "home"!

Richard Meek '65

Good morning Waltripians, a big thank you to all of you who served in the military. You have done a great service. Yesterday at my Rotary Club we had our annual Veterans Day Celebration. We always invite as many active military folks as we can. Yesterday we had all services represented. I'm guessing about 36 men and women. We had four general officers, a mixture of senior officers and senior NCOs. Of course they were all in their dress uniforms with decorations. It was quite impressive. Our speaker was the commanding general of the Texas National Guard. Talking to some of the NCOs if you don't think we have impressive young people in this country you are incorrect. These men and women are smart, tough and dedicated. This is a day that always brings memories of my dad's military service. He was a combat veteran of WWII (OSS) , he spent 28 yrs. on active duty, National Guard and Reserves. He retired as a Combat Command Sergeant Major.

Don't forget the WABEC gathering in College Station tomorrow. Everyone is welcome. 1:00 at Abuelos on University just west of Hwy 6.

Susan, I have had cats in the past. There is a clean up called Simple Solution than kills the ordor. When a cat starts doing what yours is and hasn't done that before it's either a health issue or kitty is upset about something and this is his way of letting you know he's unhappy. That's according to my vet.  With my cat something had changed in the house (don't remember what). I put whatever it was back in order and she went back to her good habits.

Hope to see you all at Abuelo's tomorrow.

Keep on dancing,

Rich LH

Thank you, Richard!  Duffy is a really laid back cat, so I don't think our move upset him.  Plus we have been here for 2 months.  He is due for shots, so I'll check it out with the vet.  I'll also try some Simple Solution!

Thanks again!

Beau Wann, Jr.

Hey Susan, we have the occasional mishap here, only with kitty U rine...I'd rather have the other...But having 6 cats, accidents are bound to happen...is the er uh kitty trinket healthy looking, or normal???? If so, Rich had it right...Kitty is upset about something...litter box moved; different litter; need to change litter to new cleaner stuff...etc...If they are peeing outside the box, generally it's a urinary tract problem...they hurt using the litter box, so they think if they do it somewhere else, they wont hurt...unfortunately thats not good...I would have the vet check Mr/Ms kitty out, make sure everything is ok...

You may have tracked in the scent of another cat/critter on to the rug in question, and thats kittys way of saying..."out, out damn spot, out I say..." Generally they do it with U rine...
You might move the rug under the litter box for kitty, and buy a new one for you...maybe that'll work, maybe not...it's kinda iffy trying to figure out critters...

After that last storm, Catahoula Jack, my dog, has been acting WEIRD, bordering on the neurotic...thats all I need, a psycho dog...already got an autistic dog...a 22 pound nutty Mane Coon, Big Oliver, that has a shoe/boot fetish, and makes love to any towel or other garment left on the floor, a grey and white tuxedo cat, Katy,  that sleeps in a strawberry box, an exotic shorthair marmalade cat, Peaches,  that sings and warbles in the shower, (water not running) but she loves to lap up the water on the slate, and warble...freaked me out first time I heard her...then I have a Turkish Van cat named Lacy, that HAS to have the bed made just right, so she can sleep on a faux mink pillow, and a stubby tail pixie bob named Annie Bob, that zips around the house like flubber gone nuculer (yes I know it's spelled wrong) and last but not least, the grey ghost, Sammy, that lives under our bed...

Oh, I forgot to mention, that Big Oliver, and Katy will do their big stuff (number 2) in the litter box,  then they shoot out of the litter box and zip around the house like they've been shot out of a cannon...I know how they feel, I'm kinda the same way too, at our age...right????

Other wise, a rather normal, NUT HOUSE...THA FREAK ZOO...how in the whirld did I manage all of the above???? I ate my spinach!!! Brussel sprouts, no problem...I know, I flunked Algebra 6 times...yup, that'll do er everytime...

I visited HELL today...Me and coop were headed for Emmott, one of his schools, when I made a detour to the Salvation Army in Jersey Village at Perry rd and Windfern...BIG MISTAKE...I was going to donate stuff...NOPE, they dont do that there...was told that there was another SA somewheres else, but they were different...blah blah blah. Ta heck withem, gonna take the stuff to Star of Hope mission downtown...But HELL, is highway 1960...It is as bad as Westheimer at the Gallaria, OMG...I THOUGHT IT WAS CURTAINS FOR SURE...7 lanes of the devils own highway...how can something be so bad...dont know, but it took me 30 minutes to just get off the dang thang...HOW HORRIBLE 1960 IS...oh man...if I never ever get on 1960 again, THAT WILL BE TOO SOON...remember when it was just 2 lanes???? I do...also when 249 was 149, and 2 lanes...sometimes progress moves ya backards, dont she???

Gotta go to the Wanndarosa tomorrow...so we will try to make it to abouelosesasdlkfjsf in college station at 1 pm in the afternoon...hope we can fine it...hey Kay, I have your cellphone number, can I call you if we get lost???? You are going arent you??? Bring the dam beavers with you...oh, and bring some mushrooms also too...and some pain meds...

"WHAT"???? Thats the doorbell...it's 10 pm...that dont sound good...well, not to worry...I have my shoulder holster on with my 1911 45 in it...thats always intimidating...well, if you dont want to be intimidated, dont ring my doorbell at 10 pm...unless youre ed macmahon with a check for 10 mil...
ok gonna go check er out...
