Ha, Ha, Robert.....sounds like a plan to me, as long as I can have salt and lime with my beer! Darn those moles...they rank!

Well now we are being advised that TEXAS will be in an 8 yr. drought from a climatologist at T A&M.  Hate to tell all those people that are having their  ponds cleaned out, they might not see it filled for a few years.  Mine will go dry by then and I won't have to worry about beavers, or trees or grass. We'll be looking like AZ pretty soon.

Morning all. It sure felt great this morning when I went out to get the paper. We had some rain here in Metropolis and all th plants looked refreshed. I just hope we're lucky like Scotty and get some more rain today.

Scotty we're going to try and make the cocktail party tonight, the football game (hopefully to see the Rams whup up on the Bulldogs) and the deal on Saturday night also. Sure would like to see all you folks there.

Ted and Robert I got a chuckle out of the tale as well as analogy of Elmer Fudd. Although Robert after 3 or 4 beers I was wondering if it might morph into Caddy Shack!

Enjoy your weekend. After rain and cooler weather, it's definitely the time to keep on dancing!

Dance like no one's watching,

Rich LH

 HELLOOOOO? HellOOOO o

I've been following Kay's Big Brook Beaver Bloggin' ... Sounds like you boy's had better gear up and head for them thar rolling prairies for a Beau Brandin' Richard Ranglin' Derrick Dodgin'  Jordan Jumpin' Beaver Bash (that's a parrty ! We are NOT condoning bashing any beavers). Kay brew up some sweet tea and a skillet of fried chicken and it's down to the creek/pond for a high stompin' good time. Ya'll be sure to wear your XXXX Stetson !!! The Reunion Staff WILL be takin' photos.

Neither rain, snow, sleet or a lack thereof (namely drought) surely will not keep the Wanderin' WABEC from travelin' North-ish for a special meeting for those on the prairie. I'm looking forward to a meeting of the minds or is that meeting a mind... anyway a hamburger and icey coke with the masters of... solving the Wirld.

I am truly hoping to come your way next Fudd's night. I visited with Lola and Scotty at the Alumni fun raiser Saturday (Ok, I know it is fund, but I just had fun). Anyway, it made me realize how long it had been since I was able to travel in on a Tuesday evening and how much I had missed everyone. Lola is having test this week and may be a candidate for a liver transplant. Please keep Lola and Scotty in yours prayers. Scotty, keep us posted.

Otherwise over on the prairie all is well with FFW (Family, Friends and Work).

God is on His Throne !!!

Hugs,

Prissy Pirate Princess Paige from the Prairie

Madeleine and Me ... It was 2002 and it was Madeleine's "I'm 2 !!! "Princess Party" so she and I were official Princesses!!! But then since Princesses looooove feathers and Hannah, Madeleine and Nana are learning Photoshop, what an excellent way to multiply the fluff. Oh, and Madeleine??? At 11 she is more into horses now than endangered species, but still a Princess to this Nana.

Teddie, I don't have an Elmer Fudd hat, but I do wear my camo t-shirt and cap on those hunts. Not sure that it helps. Kay, salt and lime or whatever you fancy, you are getting the idea of what makes a fun hunt. And whenever you have a few extra hours, ask Teddie to tell you some stories about dove hunts we used to go to in south Texas. Make sure he shows you the pictures. Some beautiful full moons he captured.  RH, you are correct, I have tried all Chevy's ideas except for the dynamite!! I will call in Beau for that mission. He already has my coordinates. Paige, great idea, beaver Rodeo Round-Up at Kay's. Pack up the babies, grab the old ladies, and everyone come.

Kay Watters '65 (Greene)

Ya'll are having too much fun on my account....LOL!  I hate to break your little hearts, but TX AG Dept is officially coming over for my autograph Wed. morn. for the legal right to hunt those dawg darn beavers (Elmer Fudd would just shoot a hole in his old boot)....She, and I say "SHE" will hunt them and take 'em away.....she told me I don't have to feel I have to say "Hi" or help her on the night she chooses.....I will happily stay in my bed at that time and mind my own business, as those darn beavers should have.  But maybe, we'll arrange for another "strange gathering".  Halloween, probably has something to offer....errhhh, Pirate Paige?

As for me, I'm going to try to see about stomping grapes at the old Bryan Reds this weekend, and for sure, Madisonville Mushroom Festival is coming up as well.....love, love, love it!!  Twin and I are going to this one. She came last year and fell in love with it as well. We both love mushrooms and enjoy tasting all the concoctions ? they prepare in front of us, as well as the wine tickets they offer for samples with the mushrooms. People are nice too, think most come out from Bryan.

10/04/11 11:18 AM #4410

Paige Talley (Meek)

Mushrooms !!! Hippy type Mushrooms... No wonder "Madisonville Wine" is wonderful at the Festival. Richard, is Madisonville Mushroom Wine on your Somalian lists?

So "Wonder Woman" is doing a night hunt for your critters, eh. I am sure the boys would be willing to sit in their lawn chairs with drink of choice in hand to see "WW" in action. She might need some assistance loading the traps of "Dam Denizens" into her invisible plane. Those beavers will not have a chance 'cause...

No one can resist the  "golden lasso".  It binds all who are encircled and compels them to tell... the truth! Wonder Woman

Beau Wann, Jr.

How now mine beaver hunters...and mushrooooooom waltripians...I like beavers and mushrooms and Elmer Fudddddd...well, not together...although I did have lunch with Bucee, and Mr Fuddddd... Bucee had the walnut and pecan stew, Mr Fuddddd had hasenpheffer stew and I had hamburger with shrooms..."I am a lineman for the county"....sorry, having flashbacks from workin at the dialtone fakiktory...I did like climbing those poles, till my legs said no more...

Hey Kay, is the madisonville shroom festival this weekend???? been wanting to go to that one...maybe smoke some shrooms...hard to get em lit...would love to have a REAL GOOD CIGAR AND SOME ADULT BEVERAGE whilst I peruse the shroom paradise...I allus wanted to have a shroom farm, but dont have a cave...Is there a winerrrrrrry in Madisonville???? or a wino???

Heeeeeyyyyyy kaaaaaaayyyyy, they gonna relocate ol bucee beaver????? they not gonna hurt em are they????? if they are, it's ok to lie to me, this time...tell me they are gonna relocate em to a beaver retirement community dam...dam right...

Hey Robert "Elmer Fudd" Derrick...guess I am in good company...I shot holes in the ground at my place...used 12ga number 4 buck...makes a big hole...also splatters dirt everywhere...word to the wise, dont, I repeat, DONT, shoot into a mudpuddle....otherwise, your wife will ax you the same quextion I was axed(well, your wife did not ask me)...MY wife axed me..."what, you fall down in the mud...again"....Oh, that hurts, I only got mud on me one time...ok, more than one, but less than...5...of course, I had a few brews, and thought I sawr the little buggers in the mud puddles...lots of mud puddles...of course, I was really just aerating the soil for better crop growth...

Yeaaaa Lola...we always thinking about you and Scotty...

Been really hurtin like crazy...had to stop taking calipso, er uh caliento, uh, hold on, let me go look...(time passes)...oh yeah, celebrex...I knew it started with a C and it does have some of the same letters as the aforementioned thingies...was having one of the known side effects, lung problems from it, and one of the UNKNOWN side effects..."major roid anger"...wow...difference between night and day...I just went round looking for trouble...now, I am my ol happy self again...hurtin like krazy, but not in a rage...and thats always a good thing...

Me and the boys still go on our patrol of the hood...one at a time now, since the "bang ol dad in the magnolia tree" episode...Yesterday, me and Catahoula Jack were one street over, minding our own bidness, fat dumb and happy, whistilin a happy tune, when all of a sudden we were attacked by a HUGE golden retriever...he was twice Jacks size...that ol boy hit me, and almost knocked me down...here we go again...but due to my superior fitness and training, I managed to stay on my feet...wouldnt have mattered, cause ol Cat Jack sprang into action..."hit my pop will ya...you gonna pay now sucker"...Jack lit into that bad boy, grabbed him by the throat and drove him down the street like a linebacker...with me in tow...Finally the other dog cried uncle, and I pulled jack off of him...no blood, but lots of spit and snot...other dog ran home I suppose...
That Cat Jack, is some protector eh!!!! I was trying to protect him, and he protected me...a man cant ask for more than that now can a man????

Hey Paige, you looking beautiful...looks like your grandaughter takes after you...11 now eh??? Aint they grand...I just love the little girls...got two, one 11 and one 13...I did like the little boys, but they are 23, 20, and 17, and not so little anymore...all are well over 6ft...I have to stand on a chair to hug them ol behemoths...sort of make me feel special when they visit...just hang on me like I'm Elvis...good kids all...

Rode Pegasus today, and for all you folks out there that ride MCs, you know what a great day it was to ride...for those that dont ride, well, get a convertible...almost as good, almost...
First time I have ridden, and noticed the pain in my legs and other parts O my anatomy...sure not looking forward to the day I cant ride...

Rode northwest, till I was half tired, then turned around and rode till I was all tired, which was in my Garage...funny how that works out...Stopped at the turnaround point, at a DQ...had the chocolate dipped cone...friends, how long has it been since youve had one of those???? well, thats too long...oh man, it was wonderful...and not .10 cents anymore, 2.15 now...but, it was wonderful, oh, I already said that didnt I...burned 2 gallons of gas which equals 80 miles...seems kind of a lot of money for just riding around eh???? 7 dollars for 2 gallons, and 2.15 for a cone, oh and 7.32 for lunch at Angies Diner...for a grand total of 16.47 for todays entertainment...Now lets look on the positive side...3 hours of therapy, 90 bucks an hour at a shrinks...hmmm, my math training at Jethro Beaudines Cypherin, double naught spy, and brain surgery School, says that would be 270 dollars...

Lets review...ride a MC 3 hours, eat lunch at Angies diner, 7.32: Chocolate dipped cone at DQ, 2.15: two gallons of super unleaded gas, 7 dollars for a grand total of 16.47...sit in a shrinks office for 3 hours, 270 bucks, do they charge you for the tissue you cry into???? Hmmmm, thats a no brainer... so I saved 253.53...and all without coupons...so, what have we learned today????go out and buy a MC today, or a convertible sports car...how about a 57 vette???? yeah, thats the ticket...

Any of yall see the 1931 original classic Frankenstein last night???? When I was a wee lad, it scared the beejeebers out of me...now, it's kind of silly and funny...I always thought that the "mad Docs name was Victor, but it was Henry...He had a brother named Victor, and their dad was Baron Frankenstein...in all the follow up remakes, the mad docs name was Victor...fox paw???? or did the brother take up where Henry left off, and become the mad doc????

Any of yall take the Popular Mechanics mag? or Handyman magazine???? I thought I was, but my wife is the one that really likes them...they have too much information in there for me, plus they always want me to build or remodel something...."Remodel your house your ownself, for 10 dollars" the article blares at you...I couldnt remodel my house my own bad self if I had 10 million dolllars...just not a handy man...well, I AM pretty handy to have around, but just not at building or remodeling stuff...

How about "Build your own airplane"...now, that one could really get me in trouble..."All you need, are items you can find around your own house..." for power, get your lawnmower, and if youre like me, you store yours in the swimming pool...that way, it deters theft, and also a small problem, Use...so anyway, we're building your very own airplane, one lawnmower, some wings and fuselage just laying around the house, couple of landing gear stored neatly in the hall closet, you know, the usual stuff all us whoarders have...yeah, I know it's spelled wrong....fingers rebelled, along with brain...

I had a boss at the phone factory, built his own helicopter...yup, crashed...almost killed him...
bout the onliest airplane I built, was made out of paper...cant fly them worth a beavers dam...
so, I aint gonna build one just to crash and kill me...I was in a plane crash back in my Navy days, and it's not exactly dancin with the stars, no thank you...think I'll remodel my...sock drawer...how about my hanky drawer...yeah, thats right, I HAVE A HANKY DRAWER... well, they really are bandanas, red, blue, jack daniels, dodge, harley, and camoflage...dont know where the camo one came from...took it out and dropped it, and couldnt find it...might take you a minute to think about it....ok, now you get it...

well, mine fine waltripines...think I will head for the sleep chamber...why do they call it that??? not much sleepin goes on there in my old age...ok, get you minds out of the gutter...just dont sleep well...cats all snore...
As Ol Jimmy Ira Brown use ta say..."Happy trails to you, till we meet again"
your frien and handy man...DOD

Here's that mellow yellow fellow Cooper at Woof fest this past Sunday...aint he beautiful??? Hey Burge, hows your pups??? Rich LH, Hows liz???? Ted, hows Gus??? Woof fest was not as good as last year...fewer vendors and folks...but, it was a beautiful day to be outside...peace and love to you...

Teddie Jordan

Yeah Robert, I remember some of those moonscapes from our annual trips down to the valley in the 70's and early 80's with quite a few of our classmates. We were young and much less manure than we are now. That's back when the only whitewing doves in Texas were down in the extreme lower Rio Grande valley, mainly in tha vast citrus groves down there. There was a bad freeze down there in '83 that destroyed much of the citrus and it forced the whitewings to seek and adapt to new types of habitat. Now there are more of them inside the 410 loop in SA than all of the valley, and populations as far north as Dallas and many in Houston and surrounding areas.

The best part was that back then you couldn't start hunting 'til noon, so it gave us plenty of time to play poker most of the night.

Lynn Prewit, Gary Jorden, Dennis Hansel, John Koudelka, Willie Younger, At least one year Gordon Hammett, you and me, and always a few extras. Great memories.

Beau it sounds like motorcycle riding is therapy for you just like outdoors and watching wildlife is for me.

Good morning all. What a great day today eh? It's amazing how oppressive the extreme heat was getting. It's really good to be back to normal temps. Now if the rain will just pick up we'll all be happier.

Ted I have some Whitewings that live around my house. These are good sized birds almost pigeon size. Is that their normal size? They're good looking birds too.

DOD, sorry Liz and I missed Woof Fest. I was engaged in a couple of projects and time got away from me. Completion of which was not helped by Liz running off with tools, plants, etc.  She thinks playing chase is a lot more fun than work. I'll try and post some pics of her soon. She is a beautiful dog. A real scamp but she looks good. Sounds like old Jack came through for you. I'll have to say hearing the tales of you and Robert hunting Moles with 12 gauges and fire water, I think you should get someone to video that. You might wind up as movie stars living next door to the Clampetts.

Lola and Scotty that is truly great news. We'll all be anxious to hear the test reports.

Time to move back into work mode.

Keep on dancing,

Rich LH

Burge must be bemoaning my plight with the beavers.....Beau, had the feeling you were feeling pretty poorly.....dang those sudden uncontrollable twists and turns....sounds like you had quite a time on your walk...wish I could take all your pain away from you, and everyone else...o.k. we are not in our youth anymore, we must start babying ourselves....with age comes wisdom.  Arn't we lucky to have all of our stories and visions of yesterday.  Some day I'll share some of mine, not today, as I'm back at work and late because of my visit with the State of Texas AG lady who explored the pond, thrust a stick in it's sides, checked resting places at the lilly eatery, walked down the trails they've made.....now for the  Happy Surprise!

Beau,Robert, Paige, Richard and all, you won't need to sneak in and rescue the pond beavers, so the party is off for right now; as they seem to have a nest still in the creek next to me, and they are simply traveling to my restaurant to lay around and enjoy the greenery, they do not have at their place. All except that 1 pecan tree, which I'm not sure what they've done with that, as they've stripped it of all it's limbs, leaves and some bark.  Maybe they are using it for their home next door.  With any luck, we will have some rain and they will no longer need my stagnant pond!!!! I don't want to eradicate them unless I have to.  YAY!!! Just look at them 2 x day is fine with me.

She did advise there has become an explosion of 'em here in Texas. But she will check back with me Monday and continue checking on their status, and she said she may just try that Madisonville Mushroom festival on the 22nd of Oct. as she likes 'em herself!  You are all in for a treat, those of you that decide to go.  I have no connection with the festival, just really enjoy the whole thing, 1 a yr and the weather, the shops, the buildings....Madisonville is a "cut above" most usual weekend events, and I'm going to try to make a Calvert event as well soon.  Like them too.

Well, I've had a much needed laugh from yall today Thank you everyone, now let's see if my wonderful teachers have most of their grades in for the !st report cards of the year!

Beau Wann, Jr.

Hey Kay???? Got them ol beavers under corntrol I reckon...so you dont kneed me and ol elmer fuddddd to come over with the Jack Daniels and 12 gauges...October 22 for the Shroom festival in Madisonville...RIGHT???? oK, me and the little woman are gonna be there...unless of course we're not...then we will not be there...unless of course we are...yeah, I know, a mind is a terrible think to wit...

I'm thinkink, that DW has a Beta Eta meeting coming up this month...I'll bet it is on the day of the Shroom festival...if it is, then I will ride my bike up to Madisonville...E me your cellphone number, so's we can say howdy in person to one an other, or I E mine to you...I'll buy a shroom for you...

I love shrooms...regular button ones, and portobello ones...the larger caps of the porto ones, not the smaller ones...the smaller ones are SOOOOOOOOOO strong tasting...kind of taste like rank hay, or how YOU might think it would taste...
Colinas in the Heights on 19th and Nicholson, has a dish that is sauteed spinach with a sauteed large cap porto on top of that, topped off with a white cheese...dont know if it is mozzarella or what, but it is an excellent dish...even tried making it myself, and voila, turned out great...

Slow cooked a chuck roast in the ol crock pot for about 8 hours...hmmmmmm hmmmmmm hmmmmm...oh man, that is just about the best tasting piece O meat on the planet...diced up some taters and cooked em with the roast...then today, cut the roast up in small pieces and cooked that in some juice with the taters and made HASH...also made some gravy...WOW...just a little salt and pepper is all the seasoning called for....DONT USE ONIONS, IF YOU HAVE DOGS...Onions are death on animals, gives em a blood disorder...It doesnt need onion anyway...I dont use onion, just because I like to treat Cooper and Jack to some fine dinning...just mix a little au jus in their dry food, and voila, EATIN AT THE RITZ...yeah, I know, I spoil em, but I love em sooooo much...

Me and Pegasus flew today...just got on and ran some errands, post office, answer my fan mail, and to the bank, to check on my many millions, stop by Mancusos North Main for some free coffee, rode northwest, again...just prowled around the countryside, explorin this road and that road...all roads, lead home, eventually...I wish everyone could feel about something, the way I feel about riding my Harley...just cant explain it...It has always been my contention, that throuhout my travels on this earth, the JOURNEY, WAS THE DESTINATION...now I know why...

I'm glad I'm not the man that lives on the cul-de-sac a few doors down...his therapy, or maybe his hell,  seems to be picking the weeds out of his yard and smoking his pipe...everyday, all day long, he is down on his hands and knees, picking weeds out of his grass, creating bald spots in his yard and creating piles of the weeds...his yard looks no better for his having done so, in fact, it looks rather anemic...I just dont get it, it is green, and cut the same length as the st augustine, whats the big deal????

The guy even has a nice new center console boat, with all the trimmings...hells bells man, GO FISHING FOR SOMETHING OTHER THAN WEEDS...I'm not a fisherman, but I'd much rather be picking hydrilla off my line than weeds out of my yard...he even has a place in the country he could be at...shooting holes in the ground like me and Robert...thats the way I like to get rid of unwanted weeds, the ol 12 gauge weed wacker...yes sir, just blast them ol dandelions all to smithereens, or smitherooms...

But, I know, different strokes eh...just glad that is not MY passion...I can think of a whole lot better ways to enjoy life than picking weeds out of my dead yard...in fact, thats the onliest (east texas for only) think that makes my yard green, are the weeds...

Yall gonna be at Fudddddds next tuesday????? I'm hopin I will, me and the little woman...
AND, ifin it stops raining, we will ride Pegasus to fudds...optimistic fellow aint I...

Any of youse youtes been watchin TCM???? they be havin old scary movies on, I guess in honor of halloween...watched the original "THE THING FROM ANOTHER PLANET", most commonly called, "THE THING"...not too shabby for an early attempt at a scary movie...it was made by the master movie maker hisownself, HOWARD HAWKS...Then after that one was the "Thing from outer space", or from mars...anyway, it was soooooooooo bad, that it was good, as a cult classic movie...believe it or not, it took them all of 6 days to make it...looks it too...

They were heading back to earth from Mars, after an extended stay, and a martian monster got on board, and started snacking on the crew...the monster sort of resembled the one from "The Creature From the Black Lagoon", which was played by a woman, by the way...

Anyway, 45s had no effect on the monster, nor an M1 Garand, which the monster grabbed and bent it in two, nor hand grenades, nor a bazooka, or electricity, nor radiation from the reactor on board...can you imagine firing a weapon on board a space ship???? let alone handgrenades or a bazooka...finally lack of oxygen is what killed it when they opened up the outer doors....DUH!!!!!!!!!!!! I was hollarin for them to do that an hour ago, when the monster first showed up..."put on your space suits, and open up the winders and doors, NOTHING can withstand lack of oxygen...jeeeze loueeeze, them ol boys was dumb...they also had a couple of ladies on board, and guess what they did???? waited on the men folk...you know, poured em coffee, made em samiches, patched up their wounds from the monster, you know, the usual lady stuff back in the 50's...Sally Ride hadnt arrived just yet...I allus thought Mz Ride was hot...

"The Curse of Frankenstein" is on now....NO THANK YOU...Not gonna even attempt to watch that one...I saw a small part of it at the Garden oaks back in 57...THAT ONE SCARED THE PEEWADDLEYSNOT OUT OF THIS OL BOY...I was what, 12??? I ran out of the theater as fast as I could...went next door to the drug store, and read something a little more to my liking, BUGS BUNNY AND ELMER FUDDDDDDD...wow, dont know why that movie was so bad, but I just couldnt watch it...."shudder".....

Guess I will sing off for now...Me and Cooper have school tomorrow...normally it is Monday, but we were rescheduled for tomorrow...then we have Emmott on Friday...

Did yall know that there is a tire named after Cooper???? also a car???? A Cooper, and a Mini-Cooper...I dont know how mini coopers there are, and judging from the looks of that particular vehicle, dont think even one cooper could fit in a cooper, let alone very mini coopers...

Hmmmm, its past midnight, and I hear some banging going on outside...gonna investigate...

John Burgess Webb

by the way.if you want to get up to speed on the circus,i sugest that you 'google' ECOSCIENCE:POPULATION,RESOURCES,ENVIRONMENT..by paul erlich, anne erlich and john holdren.the text is $149 used in paperback so im gleening excerpts;the links describe the context.eugenics.holdren is the administration's  science and tech tzar and the true nature of the progressive agenda is revieled in his writing.i went to a 'presidents lecture' at rice univercity in 1985 where paul erlich was the guest speaker and my very first impression of this man was an arrogant elitest who talked down to an audience of very intelligent teachers and students.i attended a few of those lectures and one behind closed doors as proxy for a professor emeritis who could not attend and was assigned to report the substance(a computer model generated at univercity of colo.regarding global warming). eugenics programs are ongoing and the extent to which they go is to the elimination of of 80-90%(a hyperbolic number expressed by some kook professor) of the world population by means of war, famine ,sterilization and genocide.dont take my word for it;read thier very words...remember that bill ayers said that 50,000,000 in america would have to be killed  to accomplish the revolution when he was a leader of the weather underground, so who really knows?... its the mindset of these people, not the numbers.as ayers and holdren recant these positions in public, that they santioned them at all is a point to consider.for now one can google this information,as the progressive agenda consolidates and information is restricted by fiat, there will only be the "company line"available.efforts have been underway to restrict the freedom of information and the control of media including the internet.those who are ignorant of eugenics, especially its newest incarnation as 'the genome project' should educate themselves  to what the agenda is and what part the current crisis in world economics plays in its consoladation phase.the exploitation phase is next and this will concern everyone as inflation makes food prices go into an exponential spiral.those on fixed incomes will suffer the most but eventually all will be effected,if not already.it is protracted and deliberately incremental.we are being conditioned to except the measures coming for the" survival of the planet" and will eventually see the true nature of the beast.its about power and absolute power.each crisis brings extradinary measures;the 'transportation security agency'is the tip of the iceburg.their belief is that industry must be deconstructed to save the planet from the excesses of mankind.the end justifies the means and the global control by (in al gores words)"planetary[global] governance" vis a vis world currency and world carbon tax is one of the vehicles.as america goes bankrupt the billionaires(george soros is only the visable one) will tighten the noose.as lenin said,"we will buy the rope from the capitalists that we use to hang them".make yourselfs aware,it costs nothing and may preserve the constitution.i signed my oath to the constitution in a 'blind' book where no other name there was exposed to the next signer.i cant get out of it;to defend the constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic.im dying and have nothing to gain personally.im not a super-patriot and a part of me says "why should i give a damn?" i concede the loss of all that was ever dear to me except my grandchildren.its hard to imagine them in a cycle of slavery, limited by a state that programs thier future and stiffles thier happiness and perhaps sacrifices thier potential for the benifit of arrogant and godless overlords who worship mamon and death.it makes me call out in frustration yet concurrently call for gods protection in silence.

Burge, don't dismiss the Amercian spirit .....I have to feel that good overcomes bad in our Universe, and whatever is in the hidden design process can be interrupted by it, else why would our children and grandchildren keep having babies in this contaminated world.  As the pendulum swings to the bad, it can eventually swing back to the good, and I want to be here to see it happen, so we need all the fresh positive and strong babies to fight against the bad.  Whenever I get so discouraged of all the trash and ugliness of the world, I can imagine "what if it turns and becomes an intelllectual turnaround reality of good for all, and I just saw disaster and died right before it happens....I'm sticking around for this hopeful event.

I especially love the common people  (the masses) protesting in the streets against Wall Street's greed.....been wanting to do this for years, glad they've been moved out of personal long-time apathy watching our politicians thrawt our freedoms and livlihoods, keep protesting!  Those that are sitting on their "fat asses" in Washington with their selfish personal agendas, refusing to work together in Congress for the greater good, in order to help the American people engine to get back to work, corporations and small businesses start employing again.....hoarding.  I won't go further on this.

But in answer, keep the faith, we've all contibuted to good and bad, hopefully there will be a Capt. Hero or Herorine, or heroric masses  that will gain strength and save us and America.  Expect a miracle, don't quit before the miracle!!  The mind is a beautiful thing and it belongs to our young, and super achievers to make good changes.

kay,i too believe that good will overcome evil;that is gods plan.what we can discover about the plans of the 'mad scientists' helps to overcome them;it is the mindset that permeates the accidemic world.the secular-humanistic view that man can solve all the problems of the world is an error;we did not create the earth and as much as it created itself;well, god did that himself.i love to think that everyone on earth can be productive and happy;we are intelligent enough to solve the problems of pollution;membranes and processes yet to be discovered in nature may hold solutions.look at photosynthesis;how ingenious, turning the dred c02 into oxygen so we may live.science has been used to destroy;what ever enemy one wills.some believe the human race is the enemy, and they have power and influence.i know good will prevail;a pure good,a holy good.just stay aware for these gritty times.

does anyone remember the scene in "the wizzard of oz" when the veil was pulled on the wizzard? "dont pay any attention to that man behind the curtain". well, thats why people should check things out for themselves.since 1925,when william stephenson and a collegue discovered the cathode ray tube while working on the british verson of radar, the televison has been an intelligence tool.even the entertainment contained programed messages for the broader audience.that is why the book is still the best source of information;even when it is propaganda,it an be quantified and cross referrenced.one cant believe everything on tv,radio or internet.there are some things the camera can catch.when ben bernanke was asked by a congressman what part of the constitution gave the federal reserve the power to print money;he arrogantly answered that that power was given by the enaction of the fed by congress in 1913.congress cannot just relinqish the peoples power by caveat.the fed has been printing phoney money for a long time.no wonder foreign banks love it.money for nothing;based on nothing.the protestors in ny. dont even know why they are protesting.it may as well be the wizzard of oz.

IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT THE MEANING OF 'IS' IS

Ah so, mine liebkens...folks shouldnt be so hasty to condemn the rich...to some, WE ARE THE RICH...EVERYTHING IS RELATIVE...I imagine that some  have more money than I do...that makes them rich and me not...unless I have more money than some others, then that makes me rich and them not, and on and on and on..."I use to complain because I had no shoes, till I met a man with no feet"...

Guess who is funding and instigating all the so called "wall street protest"...anyone want to take a wild guess????  The cronies of this administration...yup, friends of obama, George Soros, a devout socialist BILLIONAIRE, AND HIS FRIENDS THAT MADE A KILLING ON WALL STREET...and MOVE ON DOT ORG...now, how do you get to be a bilionaire???? certainly not by being a socialist... oh, investing your money???? investing others money???? where???? ON WALL STREET???? Every socialist country HAS FAILED, AND ARE FAILING...the only ones that have any money, which came from us, are the leaders aka dictators...the protest is staged to direct attention away from the present administrations continued failures...kind of "WAG THE DOG" philosophy...if you will, and even if you wont...

BUT, there is really not a lot of protesters, couple of hundred here, and couple a more there...most of em are bussed in, and have no idea what they are protesting...the leftist state run news media is pushing the so called movement, which there really isnt much at all...wonder why the news media pushes leftist views???? I wonder too, since they are CAPITALISTS, AND ALSO INVEST ON WALL STREET...talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face...It is my contention, that the folks that want socialism, are the ones with all the money, that would be incharge, and  think that nothing bad could ever touch them, because they are so wealthy and can buy security...and the other group that embraces socialism, are  the folks that dont work, with no money, that have nothing to lose anyway...

And here's something else to think about, when you look for a job, who hires you???? a poor man or woman???....not hardly...gotta be a rich man or woman that hires you...what possible job could a poor man have that anyone would want???? and what would a poor man pay you with?????Hard as it is for some to believe, money makes the whirld go round...who do you think has been paying for everything in this whirld????? YOU AND ME, THATS WHO...THE AMERICAN TAX PAYER, THAT EVERYONE HATES...all us ugly americans...if it were not for AMERICA, half of the whirld would be speaking Japanese, and the other half, German...if there were another whirld left, that is...America has funded every country on earth, even our enemies, which are more numerous than our friends...

of the 179 countries, give or take a country or two, WE, THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER, HAS GIVEN TAX DOLLARS TO ALL OF THEM...Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, pick a country, and the US has given hundreds of billions of dollars to them...you want  to scream about the homeless situation here???? the poverty level???? the social injustice????? you might look to washington for that problem...since SOB/LBJs "GREAT SOCIETY" (which by the way, was the first to tap into the SOCIAL SECURITY FUND AND PLACE IT IN THE GENERAL FUND, thats why it's broke)  we, the taxpayer has spent more than a trillion dollars on the homeless, and the poor...and the welfare state...has the problem ceased to be???? NO!!!!or even gotten better????? NOPE...WORSE...just money down a rat hole...you ever wonder just who perzactly GOT ALL THAT MONEY????? probably not...but it probably can be traced to one pet project after another for this congress man or that congress woman, regardless of political affiliation, in the NAME OF THE POOR...I doubt if even one tenth of one percent has ever gotten to where it was NEEDED...OR WILL EVER GET THERE...

But, no matter how much money is thrown at poverty, it will never cease to be, unless the root of the problem is addressed...laziness...If I am paid NOT to work, then what is my motivation for finding a job?????

I  have been following all this for over 50 years...so sad, the corruption in this government...NOT WALL STREET...you say GREEED???? well then, arent we all greedy for wanting a fair days wages for a fair days work???? Who sets FAIR???? the market place...law of supply and demand...we all learned that at our dear old alma mater WALTRIP...Sometimes life is just not fair, as I am sure EVERYONE KNOWS THIS...besides, all the rich overpaid CEOs and executives, where do their salaries come from???? Board of directors, thats who...look at the so called GREEN COMPANY SOLYNOID, OR WHATEVER in the heck is it's name, that were big supporters of obama...now out of bidness...but only after they were granted a 532 million dollar grant or bailout fund from who???? obama thats who...I mention obama, because thats who is in power now...to be sure, it has happened in just about every other administration, it's called paybacks for getting elected...doesnt make it right, no matter which political afiliation you are...

So how does one get elected if not from the donations from big corporations???? You dont!!!!!!And, after having been elected,  if you dont pay them back with one favor or another, then you dont get re-elected...now, thats just sad and wrong...but what can ya do????? The quest for power, breeds corruption, and corruption breeds the quest for power, and round and round we go...it has been said, and seconded, that good shall triumph over evil...it will, only if that one elected official, stands up and says, "NO MORE"..."NO MORE BUSINESS AS USUAL"..."NO MORE POLITICS"...NO MORE DISHONESTY"...unless more than one individual does that, it aint gonna happen...

If you take away the law of supply and demand, private enterprise, the free market, then you rob the very soul of the human spirit...kind of like grades...others had much better grades than did I, so if someone had a 4.0 average, and I had a 2.0 average,(which would have been high for me), wouldnt it be better to give me one of those points???? so that way we both have a 3.0 average..."WELL, WAIT A MINUTE, YOU WANT TO TAKE AWAY POINTS FROM ME BECAUSE YOU DIDNT WORK FOR IT, AND I DID????"

YUP, WORKS THE SAME WITH MONEY AND GOODS AND SERVICES... NOW, me being a mean ol ultra conservative right wing extremist, (and veteran, which by this administrations admission, makes me a "terrorist threat"), AKA ATILLA THE HUN...I still care about my fellow human beings...Hard to believe isnt it!!!! My beloved and I give to the poor all the time, feed the hungry, clothe them, house them, teach their children,(I'm sure with the education and intelligence my wife possesses, she could be making two three times the salary in the private sector, what she makes being a teacher, but she loves what she does)...I even donate my time to helping kids...rescue animals, people, trees and plants...go above and beyond doing our part for conservation...I think I am as compasionate as anyone...and I also think, that IT SHOULD BE UP TO EACH OF US, TO DECIDE WHO WE DONATE TO, AND WHAT WE DONATE, AND NOT BE DICTATED TO BY ANY GOVERNMENT ENTITY, or any kook group that wants what is not theirs ie what they did not work for...its called FREEDOM, LIBERTY(and I might add, paid for by millions of men women and children that PAID the ultimate sacrifice for those two words, FREEDOM AND LIBERTY)...and just because WE may or may not make a lot of money, honestly, should''nt it be up to us to decide how we spend it, dontcha think????

Having said all the above, I really think it all boils down to "THE HOKEY POKEY", after all, 'THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT" or a facsimile thereof...

Coping with life, and it's triumphs and tragedys, calls for possession of good character, a stiff spine, self control, and the ability to laugh at oneself...just the possession of "good character", generally spawns the compassion, the hard work, and a multitude of rather good traits we find in each other...oh, and one more thing...a higher power...GOD...without whom, everything would cease to be, or never have existed at all...

Above all else, to me, LOYALTY, is everything...to friends, family, GOD...sometimes I fall a tad short in my loyalty to GOD, but I am always working on it...getting better as I get older...I would much rather sit down face to face and discuss everything with folks, than on paper...with me, no discussion is taboo...politics, religion, Elmer Fudd, Buccee Beaver, Angies Diner, conspiracy theories, WABEC...with dialog, comes understanding, with understanding comes acceptance, with acceptance, comes respect, with respect, comes LOVE...

your friend and brother, ATTILA THE HUN...AKA DOD...

Teddie Jordan

I was just taking a break from watching a day's worth of football and baseball games, a couple of which we  attended to watch our grandson James play and grandaughter Jordan cheer.

In looking at the picture Jackie posted on the Home Page of the Lulu M. Stevens Elementary class of 1954 I see a number of familiar faces. How lucky were those five guys to be the only boys in a class of 18 pretty girls? I think I see the 57 year ago faces of James Rankin, Jerry Pratt, Greg Smith, Richard Brimberry and Dickie Gamel, and I recognize quite a few of the girls too.

Does anyone know what became of Jerry Pratt? I haven't thought of him in a long time and  he's not shown as graduating with us, but is listed as being in our class in the '63 and '62 yearbooks. I had a lot of classes with Jerry and always thought highly of him.

GOOD RAINY SUNDAY MORNIN...AND A FINE MORNIN IT IS...rained some last night, and rained hard for a while this morning...sure does seem strange to feel strange about it raining...Hey Teddie, found a Sharon Lee Pratt from our class, and a Peggy Lee Pratt from the class of 65, maybe they are kin to Jerry!!!! Sharon is married to Rod King, and both were at the 45th reunion...

Yeah, it's Sunday morn, and I should be sitting in the last pew at our little country church in the city, but I'm not...obviously...just decided to play hooky...I dont think God will mind, cause he's here playing hooky with me...Ha!!! I do love the rain, now more than ever...our critters arent real thrilled with the thunder and lightning however...they are clinging to me like static cling in a dryer, so it's rather hard to  walk around with half dozen cats and one dog stuck to me like duck tape...Ol "rainman" Cooper could care less...nothing phases that ol boy...ol jack though, is bug eyed and looking around, like demons are lurking about, and I'll bet if he could whistle, he'd be whistling "My Favorite things" bout right now...

WOW, IT IS POURING...YEAH, BRING IT ON...roof will probably start leaking, oh well se la whatever...

Started looking for something, and danged if I remember what I was looking for. Went in our closet looking for..."it"...whatever "it" was...saw some of my old wooden cigar boxes, so I thought I'd look in em and see maybe if "it" was in one of em. Forgot all about what I couldnt remember, and started sorting through my treasure troves. Did you know, I have 13 wrist watches, and 6 pocket watches???? All neatly stored in two cigar boxes! Well maybe not neatly, but stored nonetheless! There are Hamiltons, Bulovas, Seikos, Armitron, Casio, Timex and some with no name on em at all.

I have my very first watch, a Timex, probably purchased at Sears or Marks Jewelers. (he and my dad were friends) Not sears, but the man at Marks...I do believe thats where I purchased my senior ring, when he was on ella next to Dr Gould and Fairchilds Mens Shop.
I think I got the watch when I was ???? cant remember. Probably around 10???

Of the 6 pocket watches, only one works. The one I won off a russian sailor in a poker game!Yup, thats the one. But not to worry, we werent into high stakes poker like some of the guys. We were just betting on whose ICBMS were the baddest. I felt bad for taking it from him, and I tried to give it back, but he refused. So I gave him mine, which he accepted. It was a Timex! Not a fancy one, like his, just one to tell me what time it was. Seems ol Vladimir took a fancy to my wrist watch, and really wanted it after all. Alls well that ends well, a lesson in detente, and once again WHIRLD nucular destruction was thwarted, at the grunt level. (yes, I know nuclear is spelled wrong. I like the GW pronounciation).

The watch I wished worked, was my grandfathers railroad watch. It is a Hamilton! I have it in one of those glass cases for all to see. I'd take it to have it fixed, but I dont trust jewelers. Did you know, anything you take to them to have fixed, and if they keep it, THEY CAN SELL IT???? Yup, learned that in a law course I took at the JETHRO BEAUDINE DOUBLE NAUGHT SPY, CYPHERIN, AND BRAIN SURGERY SCHOOL...bet you didnt know I was a lawyer did you??? Well, rest easy pardner, cause I'M NOT. Just took a bidness law course during my 25 year tenure at HCC, and learned that interesting fact about jewelers being able to sell your...stuff. I argued against it, but once again the professor didnt realize just who he was dealing with, and how smart I am. HA, well I showed him! I just refused to accept that bit of dastardly dealins, and now dont go to jewelers, unless I can stand there and watch them work on my watch, and take it back the same day.

In my foray into cigar box heaven in the back of my closet, I came across another wooden cigar box full of knives. Not the table variety, but the pocket kind. Counted 15 of em, and I know that there are more lurking about in another cigar box...somewhere! In fact I would suspect, that they are all over the house, in most every drawer, and in the garage, in the truck and up at the ranch. Dont know why I have so many...well, yes I do. Knives are just one of those things that catches the fancy of us guys...or at least this guy. I know my Dad and his brothers and all his peers carried pocket knives. And they were always using them to pry paint can lids off, cut string and tape, clean their fingernails, scrape paint and whittle sticks and a plethora of other chores.

I have purchased one or two, but most are "gimmies" and gimmicks generally attached to other products you buy.  I have a few of my dads knives, plus a collection of my own. I generally forget to put one in my pocket to tackle one of the aforementioned tasks. And If one of them does wind up in my pocket, you can bet it can be found in the washing machine, along with about 37 cents in change. I have the cleanest knives and money in town. Is that considered "sharp money laundering"????

Found an old jewel box, for men. Once again, probably purchased at Sears or Fairchilds. Opened er up, and the lid is barely hanging on, and found 6 pair of cuff links, and various assortment of tie pins and clasps. Cant remember when the last time I wore cufflinks, or a tie clasp or pin. But I do remember wearing them when long sleeve dress shirts had the french cuffs that REQUIRED cufflinks. Ah, those were the days, eh!!!!

Also found, all alone, in a wooden cigar box, did I mention all alone?? Anyway, I found a black box inside the cigar box. The label on the inside box reads: ALTIMETER MODEL NO. 608 0-15000 FEET A GENUINE AIRGUIDE INSTRUMENT MADE IN CHICAGO USA. And there IS an altimeter inside the inside box too!!!!

Cant for the life of me figure out just where I got such a critter, or even why I have an altimeter! Some one is messing with my mind, obviously! Like my mind could be messed with anyway!
I wonder if it's valuable??? Any one out there in NEED of such an item???? PAIGE HONEY???? After all, youre the astronaut in the family!!! You missing an altimeter???? I could bring it to Elmer Fudds this next tuesday, sort of for show and tell. Hey, thats a good idear. We could have us a genuine bonefide show and tell, and swap meet at Fuddddddddssssss....WHATCHA THINK????

I can bring some of my old albums, The Cowsills; Partridge Family: Debbie Boone: Peter Paul and Mary...I know some of yall are just salivatin over the prospects of ownin such a treasure trove of music...bring cash, lots of it!!!!!

Man, it is still pouring rain!!!! Will this constant rain never end???? Just funnin ya!!! I hope it hangs around for a couple O fortnights...

I will bring my Altimeter to fudds, and my russian watch...and for a good price, I could possible see my way clear in to parting with one of my fine valuable antique treasures...

You know,  I give tours over here at the Wann Museum. And I give family rates! Smithsonian, eat your heart out!!!!!
I'm HOPIN to find the HOPE DIAMOND somewhere in mah thangs...it's probably around here someplace in a wooden cigar box...Use to have a shrunken head, but cant find it anymore! Jack probably found it and ate it, as that ol boy is want to do!

The real reason I didnt go to church, my lungs were acting a fool, and not wanting to work, as warranteed. And my joints were protesting all this damp weather....well, too bad doodad. I like the rain, and we need it, hurtin joints or not!!!!! Looking out the winder (east texas for window) I can still see that it is raining HARD!!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! Thank you Lord!!!! Been a long time coming, but finally here!

Ok, got to go find my inhaler, lungs reaching critical mass...
Thanks for listening to my ramblins...your frien and brother
Atilla the DOD...

Almost 6 1/2 inches of rain in less than 24 hours!  The rain is now over and you can see the cool front line just above the horizon and moving this way.  Beautiful!

Kay, if you got the rain we did your beavers are probably lovin' it and are nowhere near ready to move on.  Our stock tank that has been dry for over two years is about 2/3 full.
