Teddie Jordan

Fran and I just returned from a few days in south Texas with our two youngest grandkids, James Theodore - 8 3/4, and Jordan Nicole - 5 7/8. We figured it would be a good time to get them away for a few days and give their mom and dad a breather as he recovers from surgery. It is my fervent belief that God adds back to our alloted time here on earth days spent helping children explore and learn the wonders of His creation outdoors. Sure enough we saw a lot of critters including close encounters with  large tarantula spiders, cottontail rabbits, javelina hogs, roadrunners, Mexican eagles, and centipedes, and sightings of a horned toad, a ground squirrel, a baby mockingbird, striped lizards, dung beetles, and numerous bird species. If you've never spent any time in the brush country of south Texas it is the closest thing around here to the Tarzan movies and Africa from our childhood, as it is wild undeveloped country with a wide variety of wildlife. You never really know what you're getting ready to see. We wore them out and they wore us out!

Jackie Crowe (Finch)

Scotty, thanks for the update - sounds like she's getting better everyday!  That's our Lola! Prayers continue -----

Teddie, so glad you enjoyed your trip -- yes, grandkids -- that's what makes life worthwhile!  How's Curt --- we are so thankful for his good news.

Burge, what a tragedy - watched all weekend the search efforts on the flooding river.  Our prayers certainly go out to all the family and friends.  Some of the stories are just coming out -- the two couples and their children camping together -- only the two wives left - lost their husbands and children.  Just crushed my heart --

Gary Keith, are you okay? Did the flooding affect you?

Hugs ,

J

Waltrip family, please pray for Skeeter's daughter, Lindsey, and family ----- send him your love and support. We've seen the power of our prayers!

From Skeeter -

Good morning Jackie, please do a posting for me with our Waltrip family.  I believe that the power of prayer can and will heal. Our daughter Lindsey is now in the battle of her young 27 year life. This past Friday we were told by doctors at MD Anderson that the cancer has now spread to her lungs and liver and is not curable. Tomorrow she will start a regiment of chemo to help pro long her life. Please pray our Lord our God will show his miracle of healing on our daughter Lindsey.

Thank you Jackie for your help.

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand

Mary Randall (Meneley)

Hey, Jackie and all my Waltrip friends. I just now logged on after a long time away but have been reading the pr;ayer requests and updates from Jackie. Teddie and Fran, so glad things are better now for you and your family. Scotty, it's been a difficult time for Lola but it seems she is on the mend. I have prayed for these requests and am so happy to get the updates.

Leon, know of my prayers for Lindsey and for you and your family. I, too, have a daughter about her age and understand the anguish you are under. Don't give up hope. My minister friend here in the Dallas area, Mike Fechner, had stage 4 lung cancer at Christmas with any hope from the doctors and is now cancer free.  I am trusting God for her to meet all her needs and yours.

Blessings,

Mary Meneley

For those of you youtes that have been keeping up with my foundling pup Lizabeth here are two comparative pictures. The first one is a few days after I found her on May 5th. She weighed 3 lbs. 3 oz. She now weighs 12 lbs. 12 oz. She still has high energy and is an enthusiastic eater. When I found her the 9 lb. cat dwarfed her. She's now taller than the cat and outweighs her by almost 4 lbs. All in about 5 wks. Notice those tiny feet in the first pic. They're not tiny anymore. She's still not very good at posing for photo ops but we're working on it. She's got too many things that need her attention to be bothered with posing. She got a bath on Saturday. It's good that the windows weren't open because the neighbors would have thought I was abusing her. You've never heard such carrying on. Just howling and yowling up a storm.

Scotty it's good to hear that Lola is making progress. Tell her to keep it up. Ted you and Fran did yeoman service this weekend. Where do you plan to take your R & R to recover?

Skeeter I'm so sorry to hear about Lindsey. Mary is right, there is power in prayer. There will be a large group of folks here praying for her, you and all your family. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

Everyone take care. Be careful about the heat index outside and don't let it slip up on you. it's pretty opressive out there.

Keep on dancing,

Rich LH

Beau, how is John Boy doing in Doggie School?

Hi everyone,

Tried to get the yard mowed today, but didn't finish before the sun got to me, so, I will try to finish in the morning. We have let sunflowers grow up courtesy of the birds I guess, so mowing around them takes longer. Some of the sunflowers plants are ten feet tall, not the huge flowers, but lots of small flowers on each plant.

06/14/10 11:24 PM #2764

John Burgess Webb

hey lloyd, good to see you back;i bet those sunflowers are strong, you might need an axe to mow them.

i checked out the bluebird box today and 5 of the 6 eggs have hached out and there are five little mouths opened wide for their mama; i like em.we have lots of bluebirds around here and by the way, mimosa trees grow wild out here for miles and miles into arkansas, you find them deep in the woods along with dogwoods.

i think it was kay that asked about "shadow government";there is a blog link by that name at the "foreign policy online"site(in the grey headers).its not 'kooky' and there are loads of good articles from 'foreign policy'and a few really good links.these are professional grade works.i enjoyed a couple of them earlier;one about the "just found" mineral deposits in afghanistan.some of you may have guessed that that is old news.it is;we have known about it for decades, the only problem was getting it out and it looks as though it may just happen.'oh,the wicked webs we weave...' another was about the former russian billionaire and oil tycoon who is now in the siberian'gulag'.he said the wrong thing to putin and paid the price;some things never change.

Richard Meek '65

Hey Burge good to hear from you. You are right, some things never change but I think that is just the result of human nature that's pretty constant. I do think we've made progress in the world being a more humane place but it's a struggle to keep it that way. So we have to "keep fighting the good fight". Interesting about the Mimosa trees. I would have thought that it gets too cold in the winter up there in Almost Arkansas for them to survive.

Lloyd it is good to hear from you again. I was getting concerned that you might have glued your fingers together working on guitars.

I was getting some exercise yesterday evening watering pot plants. You might scoff at the idea of exercise and watering. . .it's not aerobic exercise but the exercise factor increases when you're dragging a 13 lb. dog around the yard that's latched on to the hose.  She doesn't even pay any attention to the hose except when I'm trying to water. it gets to be a great game then. She sometimes turns loose of the hose and runs into the water and just gets drenched. She obviously finds it refreshing because it prompts a lot of dashing around the yard at full speed. Liz also tries to "hep" me with the weeding by getting her nose in the middle of whatever I'm doing. Puppies add a new dimension to trying to get chores done.

Lynn I hope you're fairing well  helping Charlie recover from his surgery. Charlie I hope that's going well for you.

Well, time to return to my capitalistic pursuits so I can buy more cat and puppy chow. May the wind always be at your back.

Keep on dancing,

Rich LH

Beau Wann, Jr.

Howdy mine waltripians,   glad to see so many getting on the forum nowdays! Aint much fun when it's just me!  Hey Rich LH, didnt enroll Jack in school this time. Maybe next time! Liz looking good, and sounding like fun!!! I know she has found a good home!!! Not much to report from the neighborhood patrol, except both sets of mommy ducks and all ducklinks doing fine! Older set about to strike out on their own!

Been to the ranch, and it's just as hot there, as it is here! Although ever now and again, a real cool breeze blows through, almost like fall! Took boys with us, and thought of a great Idea...took 6 tennis balls/dog tennis balls, all different colors! Had the idear of wearing the boys out by throwing them and letting them retrieve them! HA !  I threw the first one, and both bounded after it, and jack picked it up, after my "fetch it up" command. Then, "bring it here" I commanded, to which he promptly dropped it and came on back anyway, without said ball! So I threw the pink ball, to which they both bounded after, jack piced it up, and dropped it and came back! Hmmm So I'm finally down to the last one, the purple one, and he and Coop reluctantly run, or trot, or maybe just a fast walk, after it to which, they both peed on it and came on back! This just isnt working out at all! I'm glad the balls are different colors, cause now, the purple one can just stay there! I picked the rest of them up, and dumped them in the box with the rest of the toys the boys wont play with!

Filled their little wading pool with water, and they both layed in it and chilled for most of the day! They only came out to shake water on us when we sat down! Good dogs!!!  That was last saturday! Went to our little country church in the city on Sunday! I always feel better when I go! Cant understand the preacher, but thats ok, I'm there!!! We had 31 people last sunday! Minister trying to figure out how to get more people to come! We all been trying that since the big split 30 or more years ago!  Got a couple of things in the works, none of which involve kidnaping folks on their way to other churches! Got to look at new wireless equipment thanks to the stinking idiot maggot nazi government! They WANT the 700 megahertz cycle that all churches broadcast their microphones on, so I guess they can spy on us more!!! They keep taking more and more from us!  Our system, a hodgepodge of junk, says it uses 175 hz to 800 Hz, but I cant find any adjustment on it! Oh well, another extra added expense the gestapo has dumped on us!

Keep adding names to our prayer list at church...all that have been mentioned before on the forum, and now my brother in law Jerry, had a kidney removed because of cancer, last friday. My stepdad Nelson, has colon cancer again after 20 years, and prostate cancer! they operated a month ago, and he was in the hospital for a month, but not a whole lot they can do as he is 92! He is a fighter though, a WWII Marine! My sons mother now has lung cancer and it has spread outside her lungs to lymph nodes! Docs say it doesnt look good, but she and boys have a positive outlook! But they are worried nonetheless! She will undergo chemo for...I dont remember how long, but she had her first last Wednesday! Seems to be doing ok! No ill side effects like DW had! She will continue to work as long as she can! she has her own hair salon called Finesse, on Memorial and Benignus!!!

The church secretary, Edith Clark, who had been the secretary for 38 years, died last week! She retired from the church about 10 years ago methinks! Lots of members fighting one thing or another. We dont have a lot of folks to spare! But I guess what ever happens, is supposed to!!

Brain sorta bummed out from all the illnesses suffered by all! I have gotten on the forum countless times to read and to report, but just too mind numbed to add anything, so I drop off!

Tried to find that talking mule of Leon Hales! Mrs Perrys wont talk to me at all! They do look at me as if they are listening! Some of the cattle come over and generally just stare! I even took a couple of apples to the mules, which they devoured, but nary a peep, not even a thank you!!! Well, I will keep trying! Put up a bird bath for, Red, the cardinal! And put out more seed for him! He is just gorgeous! Not shy either! Will sit on the table with us!! But, I believe i said this before, "we are not adopting him and taking him home"! besides he has a cousin that lives in our backyard, and his name is, oddly enough, Red!!! Go figure!!!

Almost went to Elmer Fudds tonight! I forgot, it was last week ! But my beloved reminded me! We are in the process of cleaning out the pantry! Threw away some old cans of cranberry sauce! expiration date was in the last century! I know some of yall have the same stuff way back in your pantries! Had some pet milk, expired in the last century! Got all the stuff spread out in the dinning room and everywhere else! Gotta get some shelf paper tomorrow! Gangs of fun!!! Got all my WTSHTF, cans of spam and cornbeef hash, tunafish, great northern beans, chili, rice,  bisquick, sugar, oatmeal, tea, olives (I love queen spanish olives) and other  goods stacked up! I have 25 pounds of coffee, just in case there is a shortage! And I read in the Wall Street Journal today, that there is one coming! The problem with preparing ahead, is finding storage, and of course things going bad!  I generally buy the "kroger" brand stuff, it's just as good in many cases, as the named brand stuff, but not always!!!

14 year old girl next door, brought us her report card...4.44 average, the slacker!!! 100s in algebra II and Latin II etc...I couldnt be more proud of her if she were my own! What a delight she is! She and our grandson Taylor were an item, for about an hour, but seeing as how he lives in katy, theyre just good friends!  Wouldnt mind having her for a grandaughter in law someday! But hopefully a friend always...

My youngest turned 40 today, er, yesterday the 15th! Today, the 16th is my 26th anniversary, and the 17th is my 65th birthday! Just doesnt seem possible! Seems like time just went by so fast!!! My son and his girlfriend are in Montana, trout fishing, courtesy of candy, his girlfriend! What a birthday to remember! they are staying with friends there that have azillion acres that a river runs through! He text me a picture of a 30 plus inch trout he caught, plus pics of the mountains with sunset and sunrise! He said it was 50 degrees there! I told him we werent too far from that here, just maybe 45 degrees... I said, "well, this is one thing you can cross off your bucket list", to which he replied, "that and seeing a moose up close"! Hmmm...strange boy...seeing a moose isnt exactly high on my list of anything, except for maybe keeping them out of the house, but you know me, ol dopey me! Glad Kevin is having a good time! His road has been a rough one the last couple of years!!!

Guess I will sign off for now...hopefully it doesnt "java script error" me!

your friend and brother Sweet tater beauregard DOD

I wonder about stockpiling food in case of shortage. Some say that you should do it. LDS says you should have a year's supply. Course they don't drink coffee, so Beau, you should learn to cut back on the caffine intake and storage. Also take all the labels off the cans so you can't avoid eating stuff you don't like. I have never tried to put in a supply but I need to lose weight anyway. Ferrell's Mom and Dad kept their garage full of hundreds of milk jugs full of water. Never thought that was a problem in Houston.

How would you share the food or who would you give it to? Would you have to defend it?

In Jimmie Sue's neck of the woods, folks love their sugar.(Who doesn't) Story goes that during the War of Northern Agression, sugar was stored in a warehouse downtown and gaurded. When the Yanks got close, people decided that they wanted to take their sugar and skeeedaddle. The gaurds didn't want to shoot their neighbors, so the run was on. When the blue coats arrived, they thought that there had been a freak snow storm, the streets were white coming out of the warehouse.

Hey Beau,

Happy Annniversary to you and Diane --- 26 years that is awesome!  Just seems like the other day we were celebrating your 25th!  Great party!    And Happy Almost Birthday -- the big 65!!  We'll celebrate with you tomorrow !!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about all your family members -- that's all we seem to hear - cancer, cancer and more cancer.  Makes you appreciate every day ---

Thanks for the snowman picture -- that really cooled us down! And Lloyd the sunflowers --- that brightens up anyone's day.

Scotty glad to hear Lola is getting better each day ---- and I will post the information on Waltrip's 50th on our home page.  In fact, if any of you want to post an Announcement you can -- once you've logged in look under Member Functions, select "Post Announcement"  and then "Create Announcement" - it will come to me for approval and then I'll post.

I've added our "Military Salute" tab and will continue to build --- turn up your volume - as with most of the sites, there's music.  In fact, yesterday I added more songs to the playlists on all the sites.

Please keep prayers going for all --- and I want to include Carol Shapiro - her mother is battling cancer.  Carol said they have now brought in hospice.

Hugs and God Bless

J

As a whole, I favor the orig. class photo, thanks, Jackie....as for mine, I had a nice proof showing me smiling and somehow, when SUE turned them in, the mean-looking pic got put in...I have carried a small resentment that she was in a jealous state to this day!!!  LOL.

Beau Wann, Jr.

Hey waltripians,  thanks for the many BD wishes! I have had more BD wishes today than in my entire life!!! Whats up with that???  This day is going great! Grandaughter spent the night with us and we played cards and dominoes, a thing I like doing, even though I fall asleep at it! Dont know who won, but I think we all did! Lucy came over from next door, you remember the slacker I was telling you about, the one with only a 4.44 average, that tutors others in ALGEBRA AND LATIN...the little punk just makes me sick...yeah yeah yeah!!! What a delight she is.  she brought over her brand new LETTER JACKET, and we were the first to see it!!!! She is so proud of it, and rightly so!!! She lettered in band and track, and will probably add volleyball and other things to that, but she is just a freshman!!!  Thats one of the things I wanted to earn in highschool, but never did, that and an FFA jacket!!! But, I didnt appreciate the hard work that it took to earn one of those back then...I do now!!!!

SCUSE ME A MINUTE...had to lick the chocolate off the beaters!!!! Got it all in my beard now...tuff snuff...My beloved and my other beloved, Haley are making a cake for me!!! Haley came in with the cake mix box and asked me if I liked chocolate cake...well duh...thats like asking me, "do you like breathing"??? Then they asked if I wanted to lick the bowl and the  beaters...again, are these trick questions???? "uh, excuse me sir, are you using your legs, or can I have them"...let there be no mistake about it...YES, I LOVE CHOCOLATE, AND I LOVE LICKING THE MIXING BOWL AND BEATERS...

To say I am having a good day, is an understatement! Heard from both sons, and even had lunch with Billy Joe my eldest! Kevin had to climb up on a mountain in Montana to get cell phone service to call me! A double good thing, he got his excercise, AND got to talk to me!!! He said it is raining and 45 degrees there! I looked outside, and it is sunny here and 95 degrees. Only a 50 degree difference!!! If Montana were in Texas, Id move there!!! I guess the dogs and cats all know it's my BD! Wonder how they knew??? Jack gave me his rubber chicken, or actually put it in one of my boots! I have about half dozen pair of boots that I rotate in the wearing dept, I  Wonder how he knows which pair I am going to wear???? Acouple of the cats surprised me with a couple of presents, hairballs! Well, thats not really a surprise, or new! But when youre on a fixed limited income like they are, I guess you give what you can!  right???

Ive never been much of a gift reciever, embarrassed by the fuss over me! Id rather be on the giving end! The gift then to me, is the joy it brings to others! I know, sappy, but true!!!  I have been truly blessed with family and all you my good waltripian friends!  This BD, probably has been one of my most best ones ever, thanks to you all and my family!  I even received 8 cards in the mail! Dont know who they are from, yet! I am saving them to open later! I always save the icing on the cake last!

Oh, great, Annie-Bob has just given me another present! I made the mistake of setting the newspaper on the floor, and she just loves to get a running start on it and slide through it and tear it all up to hell and gone, and then fall asleep under the pile. "Thank you sweety, daddy is gonna enjoy picking all that mess up"! The giving just never ends!!! I was gonna take a nap, but got a call from Leon Hales talking mule! Even he wished me a happy birthday!!! It was a collect call, and the operator wouldnt tell me where it was from, so to keep the mules annonimity intact! I told him I would bring him a bushel of apples, but no dice! Wouldnt divulge his whereabouts!

Hey kay, thats not a bad picture!  Like you, I picked out another picture to put in the Aries, and what did they do...put the wrong one in of course!!! Yes, there was a better one of me! The one they used, is kinda dorky...Why is it we are never pleased with our appearance, or at least, I never was, and still not! I look like my grandfather, "Hobart"! ! !  Wonder where in the heck names like that come from??? "Hobart; Ethel; Nellie, Homer Stacy...My grandparents!!!!

HMMMMM, I smell that cake a baking...What you want to bet, that they come in and ask me if I like chocolate icing...or if I actually want a piece of my BD cake!

My hope is that all of you , have as enjoyable a day, as I have had, whether it is your BD or not!!!

Thank you again

as always, I am your friend and brother, Sweet tater Beauregard, DOD
