Beau Wann, Jr.

Hello myne fyne waltripynes...Hey Kay,  Mcdonalds is good....coffee...Yeah, know about scaredy grandkds and such.  Theyve called mom and dad in the middle of the knight to come get them because they're scared of something.  I tell em. "come on, youre with me, I'm armed to the teeth, aint no one in their right mind or otherwise gonna attack us"...Probably just want to be with their braindead friends with their phones glued to their noses....

Hey Pat, I need to get with your husband the doctor, or is it your doctor the husband? anywahy, we need to make some modifications on das boot.  I believe our collective minds could come up with something better than what is offered.

I've tried modifiying it with duck tape, but with the already sticky velcro, that's one sticky preposition.  The velcro on that boot, is so strong, I believe you could tow a battleship with it.   Trying to just put the dang thang on, I've had it stick to the bed, the chair, any rug, and even the dog and cats.  The dogs are ok with it, but the cats  will punish you if you stick to them. They want to be the ones that stick to you!

If the cat doesnt hurt you, you just about kill yourself and rearange the room, allst the while trying to get das boot to turn loose of stuff.  "uh, how did you break your left foot?" "well I was trying to put das boot on the right foot, and fell over the couch and through two walls, snagged the shag rug, and knocked the lamp and table over,  allst the while...fill in the blank! ! !   Actually the lamp and table look better on the other side of the rooom, so see, something positive happens.

Duck tape and velcro is one of those "good news bad news" thinks.  The good news is, the duck tape held fast, the bad news is it held fast to the wrong thing ie the cat....once again, the cat will give you a good blood lettin for messin with em.

Got an appointment with Doc Sawbones today to look at ol Frankenfoot.  I wish I had called last week, but you know, "coulda  woulda shoulda"...On a much worser knote, my brother-in-lawr fell and broke his hip last wednesday same as the day I rebroke myfooot.   Coincidence?  I think knot. I believe it was trump and them pesky ruskies, yeah, that's the ticket.  It's a conspiracy, and  youre all in on it....well, lets ask "fuzzy britches there, what say fuzzy britches..." oh, thats another movie.....never mind...

Had a cousin pass away around midnight of the 9th of this month.  She is the last of her family. Her husband is not having a service as per Nancy...just cremation and interment. She was a couple years older than I, about my middle sisters age, whatever age that is.  She was a fun cousin. we did lots of things together, rodeos and rides and boating, Galveston beach and running around in her CORVAIR.... oh my goodness, is that not a deathtrap of a car or what.

She/we never had a wreck in it, but man, looking back, it wasnt because we didnt try.   She use to drive with one foot on the gas and or brake, and shift gears with her right foot, it was a 3 or 4 speed on the floor with the motor in the trunk, and gallons of adult beverages inside as well as burgers and frys.  Wow, how we lived through all that I dont knwo.

Like I said, she was one of the fun girls. Her grandmother, her mom, and Nancy all had alzthemiers (sp), severely.   Her mom lasted about 6 years with it, but Nancy just started showing signs a few years ago and mercifully went quick!   Terrible terrible disease....

Ok, gotttta get ol frankenfoot movin, burning daylight dontcha know....

Frankenfoot here, just got back from Doc Sawbones and he thinks I might have torn the achilles tendon...groan! ! !   Next monday, I get to play Uboat commander, they are going to stuff me in a torpedo tube and do an MRI, one of two. Lordamighty, might as well just shoot me at the Titanic so we both can slide beneath the waves!

I asked the doc if he couldnt put me in a coma till Thanksgiving and maybe by then I'll be healed and wont be inclined to do stuff!   He sorta agreed with me. Hey, gimmie the juice I'm ready.

I still have a few acres left to mow, so maybe I will do it before next Monday MRI, that way if I hurt something else, I'll be stuffed in the torpedo tube anyway, so they can look for new and old stuff.

Well that's all I have to report !   We did stop on the way home and get some more duct tape. I have red and black and silver! I'm bound and determined to fix up that ol Das Boot !  Probably get a patent on it and maybe win the nobel peace priize and the pulitzer prize !

Oh, I saw a panty bunter on the railing of the front porch and then again on the fence !  No wait a minute, not panty bunter,  oh what was the name of that bird? Ok, let me go look er up in my bird book....there it is, on page 936, it's a PAINTED BUNTING, and the illustration does not do it justice ATALL!  I'm not a fan of this boidy book, because it isnt in alphabetic order, it's just sort of helter skelter stuff.  Can you imagine a book with over a thousand pages devoted to boids?  It's not autobahns book of boids, it's one of those cheep o boidy books that are on the sale table for a dollar.

I wanted to take a picture of it, but it wouldnt wait aroundd for me to get my camera, the ingrate.  I feed the little blaggerts, the least they could do is pose for me. ok, time to deplane boss, I'm a boinin daylight...

Your frien, mac and cheese, Frankenfoot

CAUTION: It is known to the state of California that boids can be noisy....especially loud boids....

Beau Wann, Jr.

Hello myne wonderful friyends..."Have I told you lately that I love you?"  Who did a remake of that song, Rod Stewart?     anyway, it reflects how I feel about youse youtes......Jimmie Sue, I thought you had knee resurgery, er replacement! Well, I'm certainly glad you are doing fyne with your gnu hip joints.  My mom had two gnu ones, the first one was just agony for her, the second one was better.  My sister had one replaced as well.  One thing that is good about time passing, is technology gets better.

Thank you one and all for the well wishes as well as the B-day wishes.   Wasnt a bad weekend, which I was already for, but turned out much better than my depressed demented mind thought it would. Got to visit with my children and grandchildren and in-laws and, "the russians are coming, the russians are coming",  a niece and her husband from Russia. They are Russian. DUH!  Pesky ruskies! ! (does this mean I will be linked to the Trump/Rusky scandal?)  Oh the humanity!

Well, Dianes sister and her husband live in Kursk, Russia, and adopted a russian girl when she was about 14, Nina is her name. She has grown up and married a young man, another Russian, named Dima. So, it's Nina and Dima, and when you have too much wine, it's whatever words you can conjure up. Of course, I never have too much wine...whiskey maybe, but never wine!

This is the first morning in a long time I've felt better than hammered owl poop!  I managed to get all both shoes on without any trouble at all what some ever!  When I told Diane, she made the remark, "they just grow up so quickly"!  Dang smart alleck!   Well, any improvemnt is a victory in my book!  I can even walk without discomfort, I limp just a tad, and it's really an antisipatory limp!

I do go in for two MRIs today. Yup, get to play U-boat commander and get stuffed in a torpedo tube and shot down the Brazos river.  I wouldnt mind sailing down the Brazos, in an aircraft carrier maybe, but nothing smaller.   I think maybe I just strained the achillies rather than ruined it, but that's what the MRIs will determine. Best case, just a strain and maybe torn scar tissue, worst case torn achillies.  I think I'm going with the best case, well duh, you think! ! !

Got to shoot some skeet up here on the hill yesterday.  I am of course a whirld champeen at skeet.  It was just so hot yesterday.  I had the tents and umbrellas up, but we all got a tad too hot.  Shot up one box of clays, 135, before we called it quits.  Had BBQ from lindemans and Diane fixed all the trimmings. What a swell woman she is! I think I'll keep her around once the trial period is up.

We've been married 33 years this last Thursday.  Going to upgrade her engagemnt ring like we said we would  33 years later.  It was about all I could afford back then, but because of hard work and all our many  blessings, we should be able to upgrade nicely.  Now comes the hard part, deciding which one she likes the best.

Our unofficial grandaughter Lucy came out with her mom. Oh what a delight that child is.  She gets her white coat in November and graduates from med school, or OT school next August methinks.  She even baked choco chip cookies and bread for us.  I taught her how to bake cookies some 10 years ago. Now the student has surpassed the master. I've downgraded my status as chef/cook, to "master heaterupper"!

Watched the sunset last night with my son and his betrothed. Fireflies were not as plentiful last night as they usually are. Methinks it was too hot and they stayed inside with the AC blowing full blast. Dont blame em a bit!  Kevin and Kelli stayed the night. We had games all ready to play, and movies to watch and popcorn to pop, and we all fell asleep on the couchs.

We did have a great breakfast this morning, I fixed breakfast tacos!  Mine are more better than anyones in the universe.   Kelli, loves jalopenas and hot sauce and just about any kind of food and what a coincidence, so do I. She owns two restaurants, Texas Borders, so she has to like all kinds of food.

Ok, got to sing off and get ready for my MRIs at 3.  going to take a calmer down pill before hand. It shouldnt be as bad as the last MRI, they are just taking pics of my foot and calf area this go round.  I spent an hour in that danged tube last time!

Remember, keep the sun at your six and ride boldly ride...

Your frien and resident yeti...ol Mr Frankenfoot...

HEY BIG BOY, COME ON, BRING IT, AND YOUR HANDCUFFS ...OOOOH  BRING A KNIGHT STICK TOO.....AND BRING TJ WITH YOU....

JC ! ! ! !  WHERE YOU BEEN OLD BUDDY?  BEEN HOPIN TO HEAR FROM YOU SOMETIME. Hows  hows Becky, and how's scouts honor doing ?  And how many more dogs and cats have you given a temporary permanent loving  home to?  Youve always had a good heart my friend! Always!    We're down to 5 critters, and if you count the ones outside, a zillion and 5!

Thanks for the BDay wishes.   Hope all your bdays and special days have been just that, special and good.   Mine was great!  Being the manic depresive and obsesive compulsive (not severe) that I am, I always prepare for the worst, and it generally turns out great anyway  despite my negativity and propensity to muck stuff up.  With all the well wishes I've had from all yall, I'd have to be dead not to enjoy the well wishes from all yall!   Did that make sense?

Oh well, I very rarely make sense anyway, so why start now!   I know some of all yall are just as kooky and demented as I am, so it probably made perfectly good sense nohow!  Imagine how scary that is to the rest of the whirld !

2 HOURS STUFFED IN A TORPEDO TUBE...OMG OMG OMG...How you like my "OMGs"?   I'm finally getting the hang of the text slang...OMG means "old man, goodness!"  Right?  Am I right, or am I right, right? Well, I'm pretty far right, about 12 aircraft carriers and a couple of ICBMS to the right of Genghis Kahn AND Attila the Hun, Hun!

2 Hours stuffed in a torpedo tube. At least this time went in feet foist!   I got to watch the mission control panel on the BIG BEIGE MACHINE, and the tech told me when the green numbers showed up on the left of the semi circle, DONT MOVE! ! !  When they went away, I could scratch and shuffle around to get comfortable.  I'd rather shuffle off to buffalo!  The BIG BEIGE MACHINE sure does growl and click and hammer alot doesnt it!

.   She couldnt fool me, I knew what the numbers meant straight away...it was time counting down backards.   Ha ! so there, I'm now a mathamagician!   I did notice that after scratchin my nose and ears and head, the numbers would appear and I'd have to be perfectly still, and that's when I'd itch the most...go figger!  Or, "go tell it on the mountain..." whateva ! ! ! !

A fixin to  go to Doc Sawbones to check it out.  the tech gave a DVD to me, to give to ol doc sawbones...(thats a lot of  "to s ", isnt it!   Like I've said, I'm a professional, dont try this at home kiddies!   I guess he's gonna read it and weep.  My foot and leg dont hurt anymore, as long as I'm unconsious, othern that, well, it doesnt hurt a whole lot.   Well, for some of yall it would be a 10, but for me, just a 1....

Ok, guess I'll sing off fer now...(forgive me Mrs. Simpson, I just cant resist)  oncet a clown allus a clown ! ! !

Sooooo, keep the sun at your six and ride boldly ride....and happy trails buckeroos

Beau Wann, Jr.

It's me again Margaret, ol frankenfoot.   Doc Sawbones says I can wear any boot and or shoe I can manage to get on and off.  MRI did not show any further damage.  Doc did show us again on paper a drawing of what he did.  I didnt know that there are two achillies tendons, actually a Y off of the main one.  They cut the One loose from the main one and that allows the achillies to stretch more, or elongate more.  So now, I'm big bad and nationwide.

I still limp some, really more of a swagger...no actually it's just a limp, but I can move a tad faster than before.  Doc Sawbones said to be careful and dont make him go get JC and his handcuffs and cuff me to the iron bed. As long as there is a coffee pot handy, good whiskey and good cigars, a couple of wild women, some BBQ, cinnimon rolls....yeah yeah yeah....and people in hell want ice water...dream on Mac Frankenfoot....

Got the hill mowed, around the house inside the fence, and the ball field,  except down by the creek and the bridge and the road.  If nothing else, having this foot problem/surgery has made me more cautious of my movement. No more do I go charging around like a billy goat on speed!  I really try to exagerate my movements, or am more cognizant of them. I dont take movement for granted anylonger. One wrong move, bam, broken hip, shoulder, busted head etc....so watch it out there youse youtes.

My beloved is leaving me ! ! !   Well, till Sunday anyway. She is leaving today in an hour or so to go to her professional teachers organization meeting in the Galleria.  Beta Eta/delta kappa gamma or whatever.  I am so glad she is going to get away from this mad house, sick husbands, sick critters, for 4 days and be with her worker/friends.  It is so good for ladies to have other ladies to talk to and pal around with. I have been encouraging Diane to do just that for 33 years.

SO NOW, I AM ON MY OWN FOR THE NEXT 4 DAYS....OH NO MR BILL.....I have my itinerary all planned out:   Today, go back to bed;  Tomorrow, sleep late, at least till daylight hopefully, then feed critters and medicate critters and go back to bed;  Saturday and Sunday, more of the same.  I might watch a movie in there somewhere. I have a bunch of DVDs and the entire collection of HAVE GUN WILL TRAVEL on VHS. I've never watched but a couple of the HGWT ones. I do have the entire TWILIGHT ZONE collection on DVD and do like to watch certain ones.

Got the Thin man collection, just 6 of those. Plus whatever I've recorded on the DVR.  I probably wont watch much, I grow restless sitting down to watch anything.  I need to find something to do in the house that  is safe. I promised Diane I would not go outside to do any work lest I fall down and hurt something and then have to lay there for 4 days with the aints and other critters gnawin on my carcass.  I will have my cell phone with me at all times, even in the shower.

We havent gotten any rain save a heavy dew. Yesterday the dogs pools were bone dry, this morning they are overflowing.  We use that to water the trees and plants when it doesnt rain enough.  Not much wind to speak of, it's pretty much allus windy here.  Riding the tractor mowing the hill was really pleasant. Wind blowing out of the NE/NW. Of course I start mowing about 7Pm which gives me about 2 hours of daylight to git er done.

Sure gonna be quiet around her for next 4 days. Laid in a supply of good cigars, and good whiskey. Cant get delivery pizza or delivery anything unless you order it from amazon. I may go out for lunch everyday, just to have something to do.  The eateries up here are iffy at best in the quality department.  YUMMs on the square in downtown Brenham is the exception. We've eaten there seems like hundreds of times, and it is always the same, good better best! ! !

The CHAPPELL HILL CAFE that's been here since 1932 finally closed down mercifully. that was the worst cooked food and service in America.  They sold out to someone who is in the process of renovating it and keeping the same name.  I will try it once and see if it is any better than their predecessor! I sure hope so!   The Chappell Hill Bakery and BBQ place is iffy, sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Their pies are always good and kolaches and cimininoijukmmon rolls are good to also!

How did I get on food????  Hmmmm, life seems to always revolve around food, whether for the body, mind or soul!  Food for the soul is hearing the Mockingbirds and cardinals sing, seeing the flash of red from the cardinals, the fire flies,  the blue birds, except when they  are crapping on my veeehicles.

I thought the bluebirds were "of happiness"!   Lorda mighty they are messy and narcicissticly vain. They sit on the mirrors of the truck, car and bummer and look at themselves and I guess they are just so happy to see how pretty they are, they just let go, if you catch my drift.

Sure be glad when the hot weather isnt hot ! ! !  Scary arent I! Well, you gno what I mean!  I think they said it was 120 in Arizona and 114 in Las Vegas yestermaday.  Las Vegas doesnt seem like a problem to me, because everyone stays inside the gamblin rooms anyhoo.

I remember on a cross country hop when I was in the service, we stopped to refuel in Phoenix, Az around midnight.  I think it was 102 at midnight.  Had to get off the plane because they arent air conditioned or pressurized, at least the ones I flew in werent.   We wore flight jackets, goat skin leather with a fur collar when we flew.  We came out of those real fast once we touched down.  The temperature drops 15 degrees for every thousand foot you ascend, so the jackets come in handy 10K foot and above, plus we looked jaunty sportin one of those jackets.

I wished I had kept/stolen mine, had my name on it on one side and US NAVY on the other and fit just right. Of ccourse I was a 38 back then, and now a 48, so it wouldnt fit any longer. They cost the gov 46 dollars back then, and that was a lot of money. I think we only made 90 dollars a month back in them good ol days.

You could add 55 dollars a month for hazardous duty/ flight pay if you had around 14 hours or more in the air a month, or 55 dollars for being in a combat zone. It might have been more hours a month, so dont quite recolect the perzact amount, I've slept many times since then.  Good thing they furnished food, else I'd a starved to death, and they dont give out no medals for starving to death, not that I got any medals for doing anything nohow, or deserved any!  Just doing a job!

Ok, time to deplane....gotta hep Diane get on down the road...Opened the gate early this morn and took her car to get it filled up with petrol, cleaned all the winderlights and mirrors and light lenses, so she should be ready to go.

Keep the sun at your six and ride baldy ride...
Your frien and resident resident, Ol Frankenfoot

06/25/17 10:00 AM #8717

Beau Wann, Jr.

Good Sunday Morning to youse Myne Fyne as Wyne Waltripynes!   CHIMACS has recorded almost an eench of rain last night and this morn!  My beloved comes home today, YEAAAAAAAA!  I thought I was going to have some shopping fun and just running around and looking at the scenery. Au Contraire Mon Ami!  Cant recall a weekend where I hurt so bad and was generally all around miserable. Plus, the animals missed Diane and expressed their displeasure of her absence by being surly and gnarly and just generally all round pissed off about it!

I'll bet I didnt get 2 hours sleep a night since Wednesday!   Last night was the worst. The cats wanted to be fed all night long.  That wouldnt be a problem if Sammy wasnt such a loud mouth.  He is stone deaf, but just yowls to high heaven when he wants something.  He started in at 11 when I went to bed, and yowled for two hours, so I got up and fed him and of course the other two wanted some!  Layed back down, and just when I closed my eyes, Sammy starts yowling again, to which he continued for the next hour. I got up and shoved him out on the porch, which is what he wanted in the first place!   What am I, a mind reader, sheese ! ! ! !

Plus over the last week or two, some small critter, spyder/flea/whatever has been gnawing on my left leg. Looks like I've got the pox on my leg it is so eatin up.  We took the sheets off, and sprayed the bed, and the floors and all around, washed the sheets in hot water several times, put them back on the bed and sprayed them, and still I was assaulted.  Why the left leg and not the right one?   There are a few bites on it, but nothing like the left.   Are they considerate bugs, since my right leg is ailing, they just concentrate on my left?

I know the chiggers will jump on you outside if you're not wearing boots with the pants legs tucked in, and the boots previously sprayed with OFF!   I havent been outside doing stuff in 3 months. What, they missed me and decided to come on in and have a party on my leg?  Hey, there's cows and rabbits outside, jump on them instead, they dont have bug spray!

I sure will be glad when Diane comes home, SHE CAN TAKE OVER! I think I'll go to a hotel next couple of days and get some sleep....nah, if I did, all i'd do is worry about Diane and the ingrate critters and this place and be just as miserable!   I'm sure glad Diane got to spend time away from the nut house and spend time with her friends/excoworkers also!

The conference/convention was at the Westin Oaks Galleria Hotel which is where they all bunked up.  Lots of shops down there to relieve you of some of you money.   I havent been to the Galleria since I worked down there with SWBT some 30 years ago.  There is a tunnel underneath it where we parked our phone trucks. God What a nightmare that place was to work!

Time to deplane...keep the sun at your six and ride baldy ride...

your frien  and bug bait ol Frankenfoot

Duh, strike me mistaken, but I must ask......have you had the Shingles shot and/or illness?  In a highly stressful period it strikes as in my case.  Don't dismiss it as I did for two weeks thinking it was a spider bite or mis-diagnosed as thombosis.

Anyway, really enjoyed your history of Chappel Hill.  When I first moved out to my area, I attended the Scarecrow festival several times, ran back and forth to Brenham just for the heck of it.  Loved Sutherlands and spent a bunch there.  I still use the low imcome (they say) animal veterinary clinic as they are such great people.  Will probably take my dogs back for their rabies shots, etc.  They seem reasonable and their customers seemed young and cost conscious - indicative in my opinion.

I certainly hope Diana is home by now, and you get some rest.

Will say, the great-grand came back this weekend with her brother and threw a fit because she had to go home today, wanted to stay an additional night.  My back just couldn't take it.  I suppose I will need to re-address it medically again, If anyone has had good results from the Houston doctors, or around, please let me know.

However, my cardiologist (annual check-up doc.) said try not to have surgery, as there is only a 50% chance of improvement.  I apologize for always bringing up my med conditions, we are beginning to sound like a war hospital for the sick and wounded. It has been helpful in the past when Henni or some of the others offer their conditions and med. interventions.

Anyhoo, I can't believe it is already July knocking at the door.

Please keep Barbara Porter Raines and her family in your prayers.  Her brother, Norman Porter, Waltrip '66, passed away yesterday.   He had lingering health problems and was rushed to hospital over weekend and put on life support.   Unfortunately, he passed away last night at 8:00 p.m., Barbara was by his side.  Funeral arrangements pending.  He lived in Forney, TX

The last time I saw Norman was at Waltrip's 50th School Anniversary - Sept. 2010.  He was a wonderful musician - piano and voice.  RIP Norman.  God Bless  Hugs

Barbara, so sorry to hear of this, back in the day we all lived on the same street, been a long time since I've thought of the neighborhood group.  Glad to hear Norman was so musically talented. Praying for the both of you.

Barbara,

Please accept my condolences at the passing of your brother. The passing of a sibling is very difficult. God is good and will help you through this time of sorrow. On the other side of the pain good memories will will come at the opportune time.
