Beau Wann, Jr.

Hello fyne folk !   Just back from the vet, and I have a new cast.  Not that I had an old one, but it's still new! Vet said my laig looked good, even through all the black and blue and blood.  I will stay in this cast for a week, and go back and get my stitches out, and then in another cast for 4 weeks, then rehab/therapy, then probably test er out climbing Mt Everest.

     So there you go....

Teddie Jordan

Cephus, did you remember to get the vet to cut and polish your toenails and deworm you while you were there?

04/19/17 12:26 PM #8606

Beau Wann, Jr.

Sorry TJ, vet missed his opportunity to paint my toemails, but did call in the farrier to cut em. I dewormed Sunday afternoon with some RC.
I'm back to my old sleeping habits, no sleep!  I did manage to go back to sleep at 9:30 this morn, and sleep till 11:30. I was up at 3 something this morning and couldnt get back to sleep till after breakfast.  I COOKED BREAKFAST THIS MORN....I fixed bacon and pancakes.  I didnt quite finish them, had to sit down, but they were goood anyway.  I did help clean up a bit.  Being vertically challenged,  my longevity standing up doing anything is short.

Found an old "American History" book printed in 1871 and revised and reprinted 1885.  A girl named Pearl ? signed the inside on Thursday 17 1896.  History was viewed a tad different then than it is today. Back then they just wrote it as it was as opposed to today where they revise it so as not to hurt anyones feelings.  There's even a paragraph on one of my direct ancestors William Clayborne and his fight with Lord Baltimore.  William Clayborne is 9th or 10th great grandfather. I'll have to get out my family tree book and count them again!

The fireflies lastnight were 10 fold more than the night before.  The old homestead is looking raggedy. Weeds and stuff growing up everywhere.  I think I can get on the zero turn tractor and mow some, but  not the big tractor. I wouldnt be able to hook up the pasture shredder to the PTO, because it is difficult even when I am in the best of health.

Been t rying to find when the best time to cut the bluebonnets will be.  They are just loaded with seed pods.  What I've seen is that fall is the best time to plant new seeds and then takes 3 to 4 years for them to bloom. I will keep looking for the answer on line. I'm sure it's there somewhere!

Foot starting to hurt, so I will sing off for now and go lay down.
Hope to see all yall at Goode Co. Saturday. Hey Bernd, will you be there?  Come on down, we'll all buy you a cold one.  Oh, that's right, yall drink your beer warm! Well, however you enjoy it, come on down and we'll put some in the microwave for you.

    Well, there you are....

I second that emotion.  How sad indeed!  I lived a few blocks over from Helen and Ellen and Sharon, and Jimmy Sue!     I've known them since 58 or so, roundabouts thereof!  Always full of life and fun.  Hard to believe we've come to this juncture in life.  My condolences to Helens family.

Boy Johnny, you said it perfectly. Thanks to you for organizing, to Jackie and Barbara and Lynn for all of their ongoing efforts In bringing our class together. And to Jenny for her skill and efforts in finding our classmates that we have lost touch with. Even when the search ends with the sad news that one of our class has passed away, it is still far better to be able to know and honor and remember them, than to not know.

Patricia Williamson (Williams)

Johnny, Jackie, Jenny, Barbara and Lynn - You all are the best!  It's amazing to me everytime I see all of us getting together, but most of all, staying in touch after all these years.  The love and laughter shines through and I'm just happy to be a part of it.  Thanks again, for all your efforts.

THANK YOU for all of the organizers for putting this together. it is so good to see so many youngsters out and about. i don't know about all, but when we got home it was past our bed time. Does anyone remember going out and then getting home at 0400 next morning. HOW DID WE DO THAT. we need to start at noon to catch up on not seeing people for 5 to 10 years seperations. THANK ALL OF YOU.

Beau Wann, Jr.

Amen to all the praise for all concerned.  A special thank you to Jackie that put together the book of the thrilla on the hilla for Diane and I. Thats not the first book she has done for us. And thanks to Jimmy Hilsher and his brother for the fine work on the photo, and frame,  of the group of the party on tthe hill.

Each time we get together, is absolutely more wonderful than the last time we got together, if that's possible. The gatherings surely rival any meetings of kings and queens.  Hard to explain, but when I am amid the members of our group, whether 63, 64, 65, 66  or any year I feel as if I'd won the lotto. So blessed are we ! ! !

Even though it's fun talking to everyone, sometimes I just like to sit back and enjoy watching all of you.  I dont feel like I'm back in high school, but at a much better place. This must be what heaven is all about !

Hey John et al, we can have our get togethers up here, anytime yall want to. We can make it pot luck, or anyway anyone wants to organize it. We have the place if you've got the time. We can start early as anyone wants to get here. We set the time last time at 10 AM. We can even put up a couple of folks for the night, plus there are plenty new motels within 10 or 20 minutes from here.  I shall be looking forward to the next get together as a child looks forward to Christmas, wherever and whenever we meet!

You'll have to forgive me, I seem to be having trouble finding the proper words and putting my thoughts together.  It was such a beautiful day. I tried to enjoy it outside, until I fell for the third time. Fortunately the ground broke my fall.  Our grandson and one of his friends just happened to be here, and each being over 6 foot and very physically capable, picked me up as if I weighed just a farthing over 100 pounds.

I'm sort of banged up, not too bad, or worse than before, but I guess I'm just weary.  I have so much to do, so much I want to do.  I know, it can always be worse! And for some, it is!  I shall endeavor to persevere!

Thinking of all of you sure helps alot though.  Seems like I saw more smiles yesterday!  Maybe I've just taken your smiles for granted before the party up here.  Now, it seems as if we've gained some youth back. Laughter is the best medicine, and heard plenty of that yesterday and last month.

Ok, I'm just stumbling here, maybe I'll get out tomorrow and have a better day.  Thank you all, again, for your love and encouragement and prayers. Keep the love you have for one and other in your hearts, "and I'll remember you love in my prayers".....

04/24/17 09:36 AM #8625

Beau Wann, Jr.

ok, thanks for putting up with me. I was just crying in my soup!  It's a new day and a better day! Believe it or not, it was 47 this morning on sam wann hill.   Looking forward to running some errands today.  Might even have lunch out.

Folks were talking at the get together Saturday about having another hill party and some say "potluck" is good and others say "cater" is good. I dont think it matters a whole lot, as long as we are together.  However, and aint there always a "however",  I was thinking MEXICAN food.  We have several Mexican food restaurants up here, and at least two of them are excellent and reasonable.

We used one up here to cater a family get together, and it was excellent. Los Cabos up on the hill on 36 south of 290 on the way to Bellville.  We have sampled some, not all, of their food, and the tamales are excellent, the enchiladas are excellent, guacamole, excellent....hmmmm, I guess I could have just said everything we sampled was excellent.

It's not as expensive as you might think. 5 dollars a person would probably take care of all the food and then some. We already have the serving trays and sterno cans, and I think the food comes with the trays, or trays come with the food.

I havent tried the fajitas, I dont like them. I particularly dont like the beef, most everyones beef fajitas taste like meat gone bad. Diane says it is whatever seasoning they put with the beef, and I say phooey on that, I still dont like the beef fajitas!      The chicken is tolerable, but just because I dont like something, doesnt mean others cant enjoy  what I dont like!

Ok then, it's all settled, PARTY PARTY PARTY or woids to that effect!  Now, just when !   I say we practice every weekend from now till whenever the party will be, just so we get it right.  Strive for excellence, I allus say !

On a note from the last party, I particularly want to single....EVERYONE out for being most excellent !  And, thank you Jimmie Lee, the banana pudding was above excellent, I just finished the last of it this past weekend.  I read that banana pudding helps the healing process, yeah buddy, does it ever!   We also missed you Saturday.  I know you cant get down here for every get together, but when you do, we love it.

Time to deplane boss, GOING TO TOWN ! ! ! ! YEA FOR SMALL GIFTS ! ! !

I'll leave you with some parting wisdom...."When in danger and in doubt, run in circles scream and shout".....That bit of wisdom was printed inside hangars and planes when I was knee high to a P3 Orion !  Missy Paige Meeks knows what I'm talking about, her being a multi-engine rated pilot.

   So, there you go....

04/24/17 10:50 PM #8626

Beau Wann, Jr.

It's me again....Got a more than serious problem to discuss with everyone, my grandaughter Haley!  She is 17 and a junior at Cinco Ranch HS.  She has been plagued of late with excruciating MIGRAINES...She has also become allergic to things like water. When it touches her skin, she breaks out in hives. The hives just started this year I think. But out of everything they tested her for, about 30 or 40 things, she is allergic to all of them. However, the migraines are the worst.

She has had catscans, MRIs, xrays, etc, and they can find no apparent cause for the migraines.  She gets them at school, at home, at work etc, and when she does they are debilitating, as you might imagine, and I'm sure probably some of you have had a migraine or two, or been plagued with them for years. I have had a few migraines, and if her's hurt half as bad as mine did, that poor child is in terrible agony.

She and her parents have not said, but I imagine her school work and GPA has suffered. She has missed so much school.  She is an A student!     She  spends much of her days just crying. Her dad, our son, says she is terribly depressed over this, and rightly so.  We have tried conveying what we have heard that works sometimes, even if just temporarily, mostly ice on pained areas.  Our doc has pointed that out to us, and for me it works most of the time, that and Tylenol !  They say they will try anything!

I dont think she is, perish the thought, suicidal, because she has always been a happy and contented child, however the kind of pain she is experiencing might just be the catalyst to drive one over the edge. I know, and you know it is not the answer, but sometimes the sweet thought of being painless can be irresistable, hence drug abusers, alcohol abuse and overdosers.

If you know of any kind of remedy, or just anything that might  ease the pain, please let us know. In the meantime, if yall would just pray for her pain to be eased it would be appreciated beyond words.  We have all prayed for a remedy, and I have tried to get God to see reason and just give me her pain. I have plenty and am used to it, so what's a little more eh !

As parents and grandparents, I know without exception we would do anything to help our children and grandchildren!   We are not failures when we cant find a cure, or help our babies out, but I feel like one for sure.  Just my protective instincts rearing their protective head.

Thank you one and all for all you have done for us and for each other. Maybe collectively we can help one more child in their quest to just be normal....

One of my all time favorite poems is by Ella Wheeler Wilcox called Ad Finem...the last two lines...

"...But, there is no fear, and hell hath no terror,
to change or alter a love like mine"

I'm sure this is the love we feel for our friends and family, especially a child or grandchild...thank you again for any consideration of prayer and or remedy, even if only temporary relief is obtained....may God bless this child as he has certainly blessed me...

Beau, the only thing I have ever heard that works is accupuncture.  I have a friend that was afflicted with migranes, to the point that light hurt.  She went to a Dr. Wu (she called him Dr. Woowoo) and to the best of my knowledge, never had another migrane . . . . . Good luck to your grand daughter . . . . .

04/25/17 08:47 AM #8628

Beau Wann, Jr.

Thanks Bennie...My wife and I were just talking about acupuncture this morning.  I've heard we have the whirlds number one acupuncturist here in Brenham.  I will talk to Kevin to see if they want to try that. At this point I'm sure they would try most anything .
