After working several years in the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, I then moved to Italy and worked 23 years with United Nations organizations. Along the way I have dabbled in making pottery, Raku in particular, and sometimes paint and do anything else that is DIY. Since my retirement in 2006 from the World Food Programme I have dedicated my time to creating costume jewelry, which is my passion. My partner is an artist and has a studio where I display my creations.
