Fran and I have nothing but good memories of Skip. We both enjoyed him in our growing up years, then like most of us got busy with life and responsibilities and lost track of him in our middle years. Then one night we were with daughter Lisa and her boys having dinner at one of our family's favoririte Tex-Mex places, Los Cazadores, near Lisa's home out west near Memorial City mall, and there at a nearby table were Skip and his beloved Charlann. We saw them not much later at one our reunions then continued seeing them out eating. We both just loved him and catching up, and Charlann is a dear. Skip had started having some colon cancer issues.
He loved golf all of his life, and in his later years played at Champions Club near our house. And for a golfer he landed the dream side job. He had played at many of the famous courses and Golf Magazine hired him as a panelist to travel to and play on some of the top golf courses in the world, and write an article reviewing each!
Skip was a real gentleman and always had a smile on his face!
We will miss you friend, and look forward to seeing you again someday at that beautiful golf course up yonder.
Rest In Peace!

Ted, I was so happy to see your post about Skip. He and my brother were on the Waltrip and A&M golf teams together. He also attended Oaks Christian Church with his parents, which is where I attended with my parents until as a teenager, I joined Oaks Presbyterian. I had seen Skip at a few get togethers with my brother, but that had been long ago. I too saw him and Charlann at a couple of our reumions. I didn't know about his dream golf job - that made me happy. If anyone has a current address for Charlann, I would like to send a card. Thanks, in advance.
