Kay Watters '65 (Greene)

Happy almost New Year 2019!  Have been reading your forum and find Mr Beau is sick and suffering..

Hope you feel well ad Diane is administering something, anything to affect a cure or relief.  We can't go into 2019 without our foghorn.

I will be the first to say that things have turned very well for me, during 2018. Along with that I've just lost one of the most wonderful, loving,  country guard dogs, I've ever had the pleasure of ejoying my life here with  Ms. Annie.  She was a trip, a real tough old girl, always loving and protecting our place. and she also liked to cuddle up with me on my bed and keep me warm.  Truly will miss this one of a kind true country dog who could survive hunting and eating her kill, but loving us as well.  Texas A & M could not save her today.

Blessed to have experienced this truly unique dog thoughout our 9 yrs. together.

Beau Wann, Jr.

Kay, sorry about the loss of Ms Annie. It's always tuff to say goodbye to a being that loves us unconditionally, all the time.  If A&M cant save them, no one can. We've taken a few to them that they have saved and some they could not.  I imagine Ms Annie and the Coop and the Rock and all the rest of our critters, have met up and are resting comfortably under a shady tree on a hill overlooking a lush valley watching for us to join them. Sure would like to see them again.

Hey Bubbas by the bay, what a cool new adventure you are embarking on.  Mint julips by the pool, dancin in the moonlight on the beach, well deserved.  The seafood doesnt get any fresher! Take pics and show some of them on the forum, or email them to us all. Yeah, that's the ticket, 400 plus emails.

Well, hopefully the worst of the "sickness" is over with. Sawbones Jr., said it would get worse before it got better, and it did.  My stomach muscles and back muscles and side muscles are sore sore sore from all the coughing.  My head is still full of crud and lungs as well.  Had to use my inhaler twice last night. It's a love/hate relationship with that thing. It helps me breathe AKA stayin alive, but makes me shake like a drunk with the dts. Makes me so nervous I'm climbing the walls and walking the floors. If it wasnt so cold and damp out, I'd be running up and down the hill.

Been cooped up here in the cabin in the Chalps, going stir crazy. Thought I'd go into town for a spell, if for nothing else than to just sit on a park bench and watch the pretty girls go by.  However, and aint there always a however, I was so exhausted just going to the truck and driving the 10 miles and getting out of the truck and finding a park bench, I could have just laid down on the street and fallen asleep. Why not, cant seem to sleep at home, even with the "will make you drowzy" meds.  Funny, that stuff always worked when I needed to be at my best, in school, but not when I'm just setting around the funny farm.

"Oh bother"....as piglet would say. Or was it Eore?  Well no matter !  It will be a quiet new years here as it was at Christmas, being sick and all. Whatever the "all" was. I've got a few fireworks leftover from sometime, since the burn ban has been lifted, and we just got 2 and 3/4 inches of rain, think I'll entertain the cows and wildlife up here in the Chalps come midnight.

Speaking of wildlife, saw a bald eagle fly over 290 between brenham and chappell hill just east of the old Starlight Drive in movie theater.  Looked like he had spied lunch, an unfortunate duck.  Water turkeys and or coots are their favorite food.  I sure love seeing them in flight, or heck just setting around.  Sure glad the US took steps to save that bird. I do believe they are off the endangered species list.  Seeing that great bird sure gave my spirits a lift. Actually felt some better!  that's the ticket, "Uh Mr Wann, take a bald eagle and call me in the morning", or woids to that affect.

Another animal that was almost wiped off the face of the earth, the American Bison, as you are all fully aware of.  (it is not a buffalo).  There is a couple up in Bryan that raises Bison. There was an article on them in some magazine.  And what a coinkidink, my sister the artist is good friends with them. She's done paintings of Beverly and Donnis' bisons.

Beverly says there are a half million bison between here and Canada.  Not too bad for them coming from about a couple a hundred in 1900 to now.  Seeing as how there were 10s of million of them in the 1800s, it's not necessarily a great record, but at least they didnt become extinct.

Guess I'll deplane depart and decompress, so maybe we'll be seeing all yall in the gnu yeah. If not actually in person, then in spirit.

Keep the sun at your six and the son in your lives and ride boldly ride...

Your frien and resident "will make you drowzy" med, Olbeauwannkanobie esq..

Post script:  HAPPY NEW YEAR YALL ! ! ! ! !

Beau Wann, Jr.

Hello TJ. Happy gnu year to youse and all youse other youtes.  Been a dreary couple O weeks at Christmas and now New years. Still cant shake this, whatever it is, sick.  Missed Christmas and now New Years.  Fell asleep about 9 on the eve, and woke up hours after midnight. Finally dragged my carcass out of bed around 8 this morn, and felt so bad, went back to bed and slept till 3.  Friends, that is sick and tired right there.  Dont recollect sleeping so much.  Me and little Miss were dead to the whirld.  Didnt get to shoot off any firworks, and didnt even hear any this year.

Maybe I'm getting the worst of 2019 out of the way, yeah, that's the ticket.  Here's hopin everyone is doing well, and if not doing well just yet, then soon will be.

Keep the sun at your six and ride boldly ride...

I am so sorry to hear about Jackie, she will be missed. The Bible tells us when we are  absent from the body we are present with the Lord. Rest in His presents.

That's really terrible news about Jackie.  She will be sorely missed.  She really sparked interest in getting the class together when she set up this site.  Get togethers and reunions will not be the same without her smiling face!

Devastating news about our dear Jackie. We will all miss her and it will be difficult to imagine our gatherings without her.  Sweet, kind, funny, respectful and full of class.

I am shocked and saddened at the news of Jackie’s death!  She loved her Waltrip classmates and really made it her mission to keep everyone in touch! She did such a great job of that. My fondest memories of Jackie was when we were in Girl Scouts together! Barbara Mc Kay’s Mother was our leader and that social outlet meant a lot to me. We did a lot and had lots of fun. May you rest in peace, dear Jackie. You will be greatly missed by so many!

Words are inadequate to express my shock and sadness over Jackie’s passing.  She truly carried the light of our Lord in her heart and it shone from her brightly.  We will miss her deeply.  Her warmth and caring spirit were treasures for each of us.  Heaven is an even greater home now that Jackie Crow is there!

This website is maintained by Jackie Crowe Finch.

Just had to read this again.

What a loss!

Still hope to make it to Houston to meet again after so many years. Life didn't give me the chance to come, maybe I even didn't take the chance and it's just a poor excuse, but I did want and I still want to come! With Jackie there will be another way to meet.

I will pray and lite a candle for Jackie, may she find peace in heaven, may her family find peace in their hearts!

Thinking of y'all. You're so far away from Berlin, but so close!

I have had the gift of Jackie's friendship since I met her with Glenda McDonald at Black Jr. High.  Oh, how many fun times we all had through the years at Black and on into our years at Waltrip and through the almost 55 years since we graduated.  Jackie exhibited so much strength and courage throughout her fight against her cancer and she continued to work and carry on with her everyday life with such grace even though she dealt with different kinds of pain each day.  Jackie helped Charles and me so much when we got started at MD Anderson, learning the ins and outs of that system, while we all tried to keep our sense of humor during the journey.  Jackie continued being an amazing, supportive friend after Charles passed and was always sending cards, emails, texts and calls of support.  Oh, how we'll all miss her.

Jackie got to visit with all her kids and their families during the holidays - Carrie's family in Houston, Doug and Bianca outside Houston and after 3 flight cancellations, finally got to Manhattan, KS last Saturday and spent the week with her daughter Cheryl's family.  She was to return home today.  I know they are grateful to have had their special time with Jackie.  One of her favorite phrases was, "Keep on Dancin"  and I know she's dancin' in Heaven now.  Many prayers going up for all her family.

My deepest sympathy for Jackie and her family.  A gifted and remarkable lady with the ability to rejoice with us in good times and lift our spirits in times of adversities.  She gave it her all.  Yes, she has gone to be with the Lord and He will find eternal peace for her in His house forever.  Let us remember her for all the things she has done for us and her tireless efforts.

Jackie has touched us all by her inner strength, character, support, energy, caring for others and ability to fight through adversity. I did not know her well until the past 10-12 years, mostly through the forum and get together’s that she and others orchestrated and we have all enjoyed. The more I got to know her, the more appreciation I gained. She will be missed, not just for giving us ‘Waltrip 64’ but for her presence in our lives. Our gatherings will not be the same without her, we lost a dear friend but Heaven gained an Angel.

May you Rest In Peace, Jackie, you have certainly earned it.

Mary Randall (Meneley)

Jackie became the anchor of our class of '64 and the heart of this website in keeping us together which she kept flowing for all who checked in and posted. I wasn't as close to her as many of you but I realized from being around her that she shared the light of Jesus and she must be enjoying her reward now with those who have gone before her. Praying for her loved ones and close friends who are grieving her loss.  May they know God's peace and comfort at her homegoing.  Jackie will be missed by all of us.

Early on Jackie encouraged me to join the group. I was hesitant at first, living in Colorado I knew I'd probably not be able to participate in events. Thank you Jackie for reuniting us, may you rest in peace. My deepest sympathy to her family.

Like all of you, Fran and I were shocked and devastated by the loss of our dear Jackie, who we adored. We can’t imagine our lives without her, but yet she would be the first to say “Carry on”. We are thankful and blessed to have known her and to have experienced her caring, loving, giving soul.

It is notable that Jackie died while doing her favorite thing on earth, being with and loving on and no doubt hugging on, her beautiful family!

We can only imagine the joyful class reunion upstairs when we will each get to see her and hug her once again!

Rest In Peace dear friend.
