Beau Wann, Jr.

GOOOOOOOOOODDDDDD MORNIN CHAPPELL HILL ! ! !  Adrian Kronaur (sp), the inspiration for the movie "Good morning Vietnam"  passed away sometime this year.  Of course it took screen writers, and a genius comic, Robin Williams,  now deceased, to make something funny out of something that was not.

Good gnus on Allen, Happy birthday to Scotty and Barbara and all youse youtes.  Been so busy up here on the farm, just dont have much time to get on the puter anymore. By the time the stars are winkin atcha, I'm just exhausted, and crippled up.  You wouldnt think riding on a tractor, or riding in a truck would cripple you, but man it sure does.

My Bad Boy broke down, couldnt engage blades, so had to use the tractor and field shredder to mow the hill.  Knees and hips just givin me fits. Had a sneezing fit, good first sign of fall on the way, and hurt the break in my back (T-9).  Doc Frauhnkenstine said that would happen, and if it was a problem, he'd operate again and put some more elmers glue in there....NO THANK YOU, MAH BACK IS JUS FYNE, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.......

Sooooo looking forward to that first cold snap, smell the wood fires from up noth, shiver from the cold....then exclaim..."oh man, will this winter never end..."  Yeah, no pleasing some of us is there.  Nah, really looking forward to the days when I dont have to change shirts 3 or 4 times in a day, and take 3 showers.  Or, I'm just an ol sweat hog, whichever comes first.

Speaking of hogs, going to the County Fair today!  Suppose to be 12 dollars instead of 40 dollars like I read. Shucks, for 40 dollars, they better give me a pig and chicken to take home.  The 40 dollar ticket was for everyday of the fair total.  Think I'd rather have a pig and a chicken!    Today is senior day, so they might knock off a dollar to get in.  Diane reads to me everyday of the events that are to take place, like I can remember!   What's todays event, "HOG CALLIN"?  "ROOSTER RASSLIN"?

Sunny Sweeny, I think a " The Voice" finalist was at the Silver Wings Ballroom up here, and was at the County Fair last night.  Were I a younger man, I do believe I'd take in more of the goings on round here. Back in mah hey day, hey, early 70s I was on the Poultry Committee at the Houston live stock and rodeo. Back then, they'd give you a badge, and you could park free and get into all the shows and go anywhere on the grounds for free as long as the rodeo was going on.  Saw Johnny Cash, and Elvis and others I cant remember, and all for free. Nowdays, volunteers dont get anything free.

Set up a skeet shooting range in right field, and shoot towards third base, up here at Coopers Memorial Field of Dreams.  We repurpose everything up here on the farm.  Installed movable/mobile stadium seating, and since ball season is over for the Chappell Hill Chickadees, we're using the stadium seating for the spectators on the shooting range and skeet range.

Humminkboids are still buzzin about. Two got trapped in the Ice Haus, one lived and one died.  I truly hate that, but what can I do?  Cant keep the doors closed in this heat if I'm  working in there. I have banners and flags flying at the doors to scare em away, plus 3, count em, 3 feeders for the little beggars.  Well, I gave him a decent burial out on the hill.

Ok, time to deplane boss, going to the COUNTY FAIR...YEAAAAA!  Yup, boss gave me the day off, but got to make up for it and work satiddy and Sunday. My boss is a mean ol man, the old buzzard!

Sooooo, keep the sun at your six, and below the equator, and ride boldly ride...
your frien and resident soothsayer,  Allan Badillion Traherne Cephus E Lee, esq

Post Script: Got another half inch of rain yesterday. Most of the rain has been going around like we have a dome over us, couple years ago we got 6 inches rain everyday, go figure.

Good morrow myne fyne waltripynes!   Had a big ol long dissertation almost ready to post, and we lost power. ZIP...gone all to cyberspace.  Too busy and tired to type another one now, but we are fyne and well up here on the hill. Busiern a one eyed longtail cat in a room full of rocking chairs.  Maybe ifin I'm not too tired this eenin, I'll try to recap all the goings on up here on the hill.

Teddie Jordan

Thanks for passing along that sad news old buddy. I’m assuming you’re  back in Texas catching all of the redfish in Redfish Bay. Hope to see you at Beau's in October.

Cephus, sorry you had the power problem, but you’re a real certified typist. Think about old guys like me who took wood shop and metal shop instead of typing and, therefore, do all of my typing on an older small I-phone with one thumb. The same one I chopped off in an accident in 2008!

Beau Wann, Jr.

Hey Wayne, glad to see you are well. Sad news about Forest though. I didnt know him, so I'll ask sleeping beauty, class of 72, when she wakes up, if she knew Forest.  Hey TJ, come to the front, TJ, come to the front...
I wasnt there, but I remember you speaking of your accident, your clash with aliens from another planet, DILTIPQBB, pronounced DILTIPQBB. 4 beers and a thumbs up for your recovery.

As I was saying, before I was so rudely interrupted by a Bluebonnet power outage, lots going on up here. Really cant complain about BB electric company, they are actually a good company.  Through all the violent storms we've had up here, and they have been numerous, cept this year, we've never lost power. However, on a clear day, the power will flicker and go out for seemingly no reason. Well, obviously there has to be a reason, just unbeknownst to us mere mortals.

Coopers memorial ice haus is taking shape. On the verge, bicuspid, of finishing the bar. Got the pool table and shuffle board in place, now all I lack is finishing up.  An aside here, why am I having trouble spelling? Normally when I misspell a word, it's planned, but this morning, my brain seems to be rebelling. Still on my first cup O Joe, maybe that's it, yeah, that's the ticket, need anothe cup o joe.

I am overwhelmed with projects, which almost paralyzes me, dont know which one to work on.  Of course a drink too many pretty much accomplishes the same thing, total paralysis, but at least I have a smile on and hopefully all my clothes as well.

Speaking of clothes on, Sunday we had a wind shift from the W-NW, and was it pleasant. Me and the pups fell asleep on the deck around 10 or 11 that night with visions of fireflies dancing through our heads. Yup, the little sweeties are still about giving us a show nights.  Anyhoo, I woke up about 3 AM, I was sprawled out in my rocker, bent and hurtin all to hell and gone. Faithful pups, Jack and Dixie-Belle on either side.

Trying to get up, I dislocated just about every corpsuckle in my taut muscled hard body that could be dislocated.  Oh man, I imagine it looked like I was doing the Fruge, Watusi, Stroll, Twist, and someother unnamed dances, all in slow motion though.  Almost took me till daylight to get to the house, 75 foot away. Popped in a K-cup of Independence "Jackhammer" coffee to set me straight.  If "Jackhammer" doesnt set you straight, then you midaswhale call Pat H.

Yesiree bob, that stuff will put a hitch in your gitalong.  Late one night, as my recollector recollects, I couldnt sleep, there's a real shocker,  so I brewed some "Jackhammer", (yeah, I know, just the think to help you go to sleep, a zillion mega hoochie coochies of caffeine) anyway, I added some John Barley Corn to it just to make it interesting. I figured if I mixed the two, might just come up with something good....yup, it was good alright.  I was bobin and weavin and jumping around like a jumpin bean, that had blurred vision and weightlessness.

By the time I lit back to oith, I had rearranged all the kitchen cabinets and both pantries, washed dishes, vacuumed, and moved my truck, (why I did that I dont know, Just seemed like something that needed to be done) . I found my truck later on that day, hadnt taken it far, just parked er in right field, but still trying to locate some can goods in the pantry and plates and stuff in the cabinets.

Shucky darn, that's what makes life so intersting, coming across something you lost in the "it's around here somewhere bin".  Of course the "little woman" wasnt so enamered with my rearranging.    So, let that be a lesson to youse youtes, if you want to get stuff done, call in the professionals, whoever they might mbe.

Lots o critter happenings up here in the "critter infirm farm".  Annie-Bob now has hyper thyroid, and has  to take a little pink pill once a day, she is 10yo.  Lacy, 21yo has failing kidneys, so we have to set up an IV for her and give her fluids.  It's not hard to do, just pinch up some skin, stick the needle in just under the skin and count off a few CCs everyother day.

We've done it before with Libbey who also had Diabetes in which we gave her an insulin shot every 12 hours for 7 years and then  the last 6 months of her life we gave her fluid everyday. She was 18 when she finally laid down to rest.  When it was time for her shot, she would suddenly appear and be sitting waiting for it. Same with the IV.  She figured it out that the shot and IV made her feel good, and who among us doesnt want to feel good, critters included.

Poor Jack, almost totally blind now, one eye gone, the other with cataracts. Of course they will do surgery on his eye for 2500 dollars, and it isnt even a 50/50 chance of improvement.  Think we will save that money for a more life threatening problem, or at least to make him more comfortable.  He can hardly get up and move about with his "tumor", or mass on his left hind leg. It is ten times the size of normal. Doc says surgery not an option, nor is taking off the leg.  glad for that!  Not wanting to rush Jacks demise, We generally know when it's time for the rainbow bridge, so does Doc Phillips. She is the best of the best in vets.

Ok, time to deplaine in spain tho manily on the plane....

Hey it's me again Margaret !   Havent been on in such a long parsely sage rosemary and tyme. I forgot whom was looking for a Soul car, but saw what looked to be a gnu one going down our dirt road. Somebodys got a new car, somebodys got a new car....Wonder why one showed up here of all places.  this aint no country for itty bitty cars!   Still working on the bar. Everytime I think Im through, I find something else that it needs.  You know, it would have been a lot cheaper and easier to just purchased one all ready to go, but nooooooo, not me, I've got to DIY it all to hell and gone.

Had to come in the house, I'm on my 2nd pair of jeans and 3rd shirt.  Sweathog city. Wonder if I've developed a new problem with Perspiring.  Nah, just a member of the "Sweathogs".  Suppose to meet some folks at the BBQ joint in CH, so I think I'm suspending working outside till lunch is over. Wouldnt do for me to show up in my Gomer Pyle outfit.

Ok, time to sing off for now, Valerie is cooking prime rib on her cooking show,  so I'll leave uyou with several bits of useful information:

"When in danger and in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout" and the ever helpful "Never trust a naked bus driver"....both old indian sayings.

Sandi Schlesinger (Stark)

Thanks Wayne, for posting the information on my brother, Forrest.  I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who either contributed to the fund raiser we had nearly eight years ago or sent prayers his way to aid in his recovery after his accident.  The fund raiser helped him get the therapy that gave him quality of life for nearly 8 more years.  Earlier this year, he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, a new challenge he was tackling head on and without complaint.  The obituary on the Carnes Funeral Home website (Galveston location) gives a beautiful reflection of the great guy he was.  He and I were very close and I'm devastated at losing him.  Give your loved ones an extra hug today.

Frances, thank you for letting us know. Coach Skaines was a good man and always had kind of a laid back vibe that I liked. I remember that he used to also teach behind the wheel drivers education for a period or two.

Fran and I last saw him and visited at the funeral visitation for her Mom’s neighbor on Thornton, Mrs. Clopton. She was a great lady. I think she was also a cousin of Coach Skaines. He was the athletic director at UTEP at that time.

Rest In Peace coach!

Sad indeed about Forest and Coach Skaines.  I never had any contact with Coach Skaines. Track people seemed always mysterious and other worldly. Not a criticism, but an observation.  Now I know what the mysteriousness was all about.  Runners, short and long distance, minds were in a different world, speed, distance and endurance, which takes every ounce of will one can muster. Not a bad world to be in!

Coach Skaines daughter was Dianes best friend from when they came to Oak Forest in 60,  till they went to the Valley in 68.  She recalled many a sleepover at the Skaines home.  She said they lost touch a year after the Skaines moved away.   I've always envied the ladies having such close relationships with their friends.

I never had Coach Skaines for driver ed, but did have Coach Agleton. I looked em up in our yearbook, and Coach Agleton bears a striking resemblence to Anthony Quinn, eh?  On that same page, is the picture of some PE time with, I think, Brian Copeland going up for a layup. Dont recognasize any of the other players, "Skins" but man were we guys skin and bones back then.  "Skins and Shirts" !   I hated being a "skin", too ashamed of my skinny boney body. Of course playing basketball, I was about as graceful as a pregnant giraffe on roller skates, so I generally stayed away from the round ball, and just about any other ball.

I forgot whether Diane said if she knew Forest or not.  He being  class of 71 and her being an underclasswoman of 72, and SHY SHY SHY...SHY doesnt begin to cover it for my beloved.  Some of us shy ones, over compensated by being a clown.  The lessons of our youte,
"the best of times and the worst of times"  ! ! ! !

Condolences to Sandi and family and the Skaines family from the Wann and Cunningham family.

Beau Wann, Jr.

Hey Scott man Croooooom...glad youse are doing well, sorry about your cable.  Our satelite, direct tv, is always out when it rains. It's funny that when it goes out because of rain, and it doesnt haave to be a particularly hard rain, they always flash the message about "in rare instances the weather might cause..." RARE???? HARDY HAR HAR HAR....Then they tell you to "check your wiring and connections", like you or one of the cats has been behind the wall messing with the wiring, yeah, when it rains, I run back to the demarcation point and unhook all the wiring, yeah, that's the ticket, a wire messer upper, that's me...what a sham.

You're right, the fellow on the far left, or three quarters of a fellow with the glasses is David Zaring, and of course Brian Copeland cruising in for the layup.  Still cant place the other two.  The one on the right could be Skeeter.  Notice how intently they are watching the play.  Fine lads at their finest! ! !

Was just talking to Bennie Schielack, on the message center channel, and we were discussing books, well he mentioned two books by Douglas, a humorist, and of course I listed every book ever written that I've read. Ol adfinitum Cephus, that's me.  Dont ask me what time it is, cause I'll build a watch for you!

I was thinking about compiling a list of all the books I could remember reading, of course I still have some of those books, and do reread them from time to time. My interests in books span from A to Z, same as my interests in music.  I like SOME, country, not all, but some, I like heavy metal, hard rock, doo wop, all the way to Opera.  Wish we had a book club up here, but dont think the people up here know how to read.  Oooooh that's just mean isnt it.  Actually just an observation, a sad one at that.

The problem I'm having now in my dotage,  is retention of what I've read.  Dotage? Acordian to my Random House Dictionary, Doatage is 1.second childhood; senility. 2. foolish or excessive fondness.....fondness to what? Books?   I am quite fond of books, and music, and friends and breathing, eating etc.  Guess that makes me a "dote".

Not really a good idea listing my favorite books, because they are all my favorites.  Excuse me whilst I grab another cup O Joe....time passes....ok, sorry it took so long, got distracted trying to get Jack up and out the door. I'm surprised the program didnt "time out" on me.  Ok. where was I?   Oh, who knows, and who cares?

I'm going to try to narrow down the list of favorite books to just one and post it here on the forum. If any of youse youtes have a favorite book and care to share dat be swell. It can be a series of books, such as W.E.B. Griffins Corp series, 8 novels, which I've read about 4 times over the years, or Lillian Jackson Brauns "The Cat Who" mystery series about 30 books of which I've read twice through.

Ok, time to deplane boss, burning daylight.  I know, it's sunday, but I am hopelessly behind in my duties, but because it is Sunday, I will work slower.

Your frien and resident librarian,  Cephus T Carnegie Mellon esq...
Post Script: I like reading so much, I read the Dictionary, just cant remember what I've read,  now that is the sign of a sick mind...

We just got home from our grandkid’s Klein Cain high school football game and settled in catching up with today’s college football and noticed your comments KAY. My favorites are the movie and book Lonesome Dove. Especially the movie which was perfectly cast with Captain Call (Tommy Lee Jones) and Gus ( Robert Duvall), both excellent actors. I had it on a disc at the ranch and when by myself (except always with either my four legged family  Jameson, Boomer or Gus) enjoying a meal and the air conditioning after a hard hot day working there, would put it on and watch it or the movie The Alamo starring John Wayne.

Oh, and go ‘Stros!!

Beau Wann, Jr.

My favorite book is the one with printed words.  Cant decide which one is tops.  Been a fortnight since I've been on here, but all is well, just exhausted from all the work I've been doing. Almost through with the new fence that will encompass the garage/ice house.  I decided to add it so Jack and Dixie-Belle can be with me in the garage and still have run of the place and not be able to get out.

Jack has put on a brave smiley face since he has gone blind in his one good eye.  His legs are weak and hurting so he has a hard time getting up, except when he hears me start the truck.  I generally load him and Dixie up  a couple times a week and let them hang their heads out the windows as I drive into town.

We go the back way from our house on to 290 for a half mile and then on to Rout road then to 2447 crossing 1155 and then on to Old Chappell Hill Road for a long and winding journey into  Bremham either to the recycle center, or just a turn or two around the old town square and then home again stopping at Burger King for some delicious chicken nuggets for my pals.   Jack loves riding in the truck!

I get to listen to opera as I chauffer the pups.  Seems opera is better suited for my "autistic" brain.  If I hear a catchy tune like one of the ones I grew up with, that's all my head plays until I can get rid of it, and since I dont really know any opera titles or words or mellodies, those dont stick in my pea brain. Sometimes a song will play over and over all night long and when I awake, if I ever get to sleep, then there it is, still playing.

Diane is in Houston looking after her mom and dad. They were coming from the post office on Judiway, and  were broadsided by an idiot on the phone and driving whilst running a stopsign or stop light. They of course were ticketed. The other party, not the Cunninghams.  Max and Jeanine are 90 now, and the airbags deployed and of course knocked them about as well as the collision.  Their car was totaled.  No broken bones, just bruises, contusions and confusions.

They were transported from NW Memorial down to the medcenter for further observation, CTscans etc. Jeanine had some bleeding on the brain, if I heard Diane correctly, and the sawbones just wanted to take extra precautions.  Diane spent the night at the hospital last night, and happily now they are all at home, the Cunninghams house.  Diane is spending the night again tonight just to make sure they are both doing ok. It has been my experience that the 3rd day is the worst after a traumatic thrashing about.

Talked to Diane couple times today, and I can hear the exhaution and tiredness (redundant?) in her voice.  She is suppose to be home tomorrow after church if all goes well with her mom and dad.  I'll get her to nap tomorrow afternoon whilst I take care of the critters and stuff.  Of course I do that anyway, but extra care will be in place tomorrow!

The deck may or may not be finished by the time "Party on the Hill" has arrived.  Hoping it will.  Took Thursday off and went to Round Top with my son Billy and his wife Julliette.  I dont normally do the "walking around a flea market" bit, but this was not too bad, if you discount the heat.   If any of youse youtes like the Round Top scene, then going during the week and not the weekend is much more better.  Bought a couple of doodads for the icehouse, but nothing of any significance.

When you get here, youse will notice three gnu trees, a magnolia, a loblloly pine and a Bur Oak.  These are around 15 20 foot tall, or 95 gallon pots. Found a tree farm at the county fair that is reasonable and professional.  The Bur Oak has huge nuts, acorns!  Well Ours doesnt yet, we picked it because of the shape, although there were a few Bur Oaks that had acorns on them. Anyway I had it planted in center field, because the outfielders were complaining about the sun and heat, so since the moon roof on the Field of Dreams Dome stadium is stuck open, I thought I'd accomodate the whiners and complainers.

Suppose to be a cold/cool front next weekend, and it cant come soon enough. I hope we have one on the 27th.  My son brought out the tables, plus we have about half dozen more. Diane says we had 10 table last time, so we should have plenty this time. We had 50 folks last time, and that's about how many have signed up this time.

Ok, guess I'll deplane. Waiting for midnight to give Jack his last dose of meds for the day.  We shifted the times to 8 AM 4 PM and Midnight, which gives us 8 hours between doses, and since we rarely get to bed before midnight, thought this routine would work, although now, waiting for midnight seems awfully long showing up.

I did not mangle that last book.  The name is Fahrenheit 451.  Don’t know what happened.  I might have been paying too much attention to the tv.  Shame.

My favorite authors are Louise Penny and Daniel Silva.  The best thing about retirement is reading.  Our youngest grandchild is now a freshman in college.  We went to visit last weekend and spent the car trip listening to David McCullough’s book about the Johnstown Flood.  He is a wonderful historian.  My daughter did most of the driving because she was so caught up in the story she couldn’t sleep.  She even told her husband she would call him back when we stopped to eat because she was busy listening to the cd.  If we don’t have a cd on a car trip my husband starts listening to talk radio, so I make the library my last stop on the way out of town.

Good choices Pat !  Yes, wise decision on the audio library versus talk radio.  My inlaws have that on full blast all day, and news TV full blast all day, per my wife. Plus, they both fall asleep with TV blasting as loud as it will go. Poor Diane has to endure that a couple times a week.  I havent had to go over there thank God.

Pat, did you say youse and Ron were coming to the Fall Flang?  I certainly hope so.  Bring fliberjetyd;lkajsf 475 and we can have a reading by youse.   You've been in the cooking sherry havent you!  Fess up girl, mad dog 2020.

Hey Jackie, do you have a current list of folks, or at least the number of folks to attend the Fall flang?  We're getting awful close to the day.  I need to know how many box lunches to order, 50 bloney samiches, 50 apples, 50 bags of cheetos, and 50 extra hard and stale oatmeal cookies, a mint and a toothpick!

Last time someone didnt come because I said the ground was uneven and they didnt want to trip and or fall over and go boom.  Well, that's not a valid excuse this time.  You can just drive up to the ice house door, and at least 4 chippendale men will help you out of your Veeehickle and escort you in to a waiting chair. so no excuses this time.  Plus we have a wheel chair, a walker, and a knee scooter, a hand truck, and fork lift, and 16 ft trailer. HA, so now how you gonna be?

Cool front hit yesterday eening, and finally wind shifted from noth this morn at 6:30. Nice and coolish, 69.  At least I'm not sweating like a hog rootin up the bottom pasture.  Yeah, we have us a pet hog/razorback that comes every night and tears up the country side.

Ok, getting serious about the Fall Flaindfg.  Ordered the chairs and Porta stuff this morn.  Calling Los Cabos today to set up the food. Alreeady have some beah on hand, but gonna have Miller Lite, Bud lite, and Michelob Ultra.  Got plenty water, tea, lemonade, sangria, soft drinks and some very sweet red and white wine, so if anyone wants anything else to drink, let me know, or bring it. Oh, will also have some margaritas, and pina coladas, whiskey etc. Ohm , got some sparkling water also too tambien.

Will have best salsa ever and other red sauce, chips, and other horsoveriesderves 475...oh that cooking sherry is so good once you get use to it.  Ok, time to get back to werk, burning daylight.

Ok youse youtes, got a last minuet change. Well, not last last last minuet, but a change nonetheless.  Instead of mexican food, I am switching back to BBQ.  It is so much simpler and cheaper to go that direction, plus it will be more better than the last time I promise. Besides, spicy mexican food sort of messes with old folks systems, and we wouldnt want old folks systems messed with now would we.     Still no one need bring a thang except maybe dessert and or your favorite beverage in case we dont have what you like to drink.

Ok, now we'll take a vote on the food choice.  All in favor of BBQ say "AYE", all opposed say "NAY"...Hmmmm, looks like the "AYES" have it. Do I hear a 2nd demotion?  I 2nd the emotion, so the demotion passes unaminously .  Meeting ajourned! ! !

Beau Ron and I are coming.  I will bring something fattening for dessert.  Glad we can drive up to the door.  Ron has bionic knees that don’t seem to like uneven surfaces.

Hey Pat, GREAT ! ! !   Glad yall are going to make it.  You can drive rat up to Cooper, and we have Chippendale Men Valet parking.  Fattening dessert?   Nah, the rule is that when Oct 27 falls on a Saturday, all fat and sugar and carburators are suspended.  jackie was kind enough to send a list of folks for this go round, and there are 41 folks signed up.

Gooooood morning Chappell Hillllll.....Nice muggy day to youse youtes.  Yup, guess fall has gone, back to those "lazy hazy crazy daz of summer, those days of soda and pretzel and beah..." We had 57 yestidy morn. Seems like such a distant memory now.   Took the big kids, Jack and Dixie-Belle, in town and had breakfast. Those kids sure do like riding in the truck, especially for breakfast.

I've been Bachin it since Diane is in town for her Professional Teacher organization meeting, and to help her mom and dad out. I like the time to myself ok, but sure does get lonesome and quiet around here by myself. Oh sure, the dogs and cats are company, but not very good conversationalists, good listeners, but not much on talking.  I guess they like it ok, cause I talk em to sleep. Probably best sleep they've ever had..."blah blah blah, yada yada yada..."

Spent most of the day yestidy down at the creek trimming and hacking and eed weatin.  Need to get my rye grass  and austrian winter peas scattered about.  Rule of thumb is that you plant that after the first frost...I've seen winters when we never had a frost, so my rule is when the nights get cooler than 70s.  Moved the dog decks around back under the pine tree.  Got the fence and 3 gates up so now it's time to take down a section of fence and a gate. I just enclosed the garage so that the dogs could be out and with us when we're in the garage.   The things I do for our critters, huh!

Looks like I'm not gonna get the deck done in time for the fall festival.  I put too much pressure on myself to get things done, and that's no fun.  I'll probably start it after the party, weather should be tolerable enough to work outside without having to change clothes 3 times a day.  So much to do, and so little time!   Sure hope it's a cool and beautiful weekend for the party.  Whether weather cooperates, shouldnt be too bad inside since all yall will be there.

Which brings me to my next thought, guess who is gonna be at the party?   No, not Garth Brooks or George Strait, someone even better than that....give up?   Leon Apostelo ! ! ! ! Yup, just talked to that young man yesterday and he and his wife will be here for the party.   Such a fine and gracious young man, as always!     He sounded just like himself...well duh, whoelse would he sound like, Garth Brooks?   Dont get sassy, youse know what I mean.

Just about got the "mancave" all together. Dont want to finish it too soon, then I'll be wanting to change it up before yall get here.  I've already got the itches to do some changing now, but trying to fight the urge.  Just like me isnt it, cant leave anything alone can I, nor say something without writing a knovel....(novel doesnt have a K in it does it?)  If I've said it oncet I've said it a gabillion times, "a mind is a terrible think"!

Ok, time to deplane boss!   "Keep the sun at your six and ride boldly ride"....

Kay Watters '65 (Greene)

I've got to brush up on names and people pics......will we be having name tags, dear Beau??  It will be so great to see so many, the newlyweds, the old newlyweds, country retired peeps, and not so country peeps, our well traveled friends, our homey......just enjoying the good life friends.....your animuls, and of course, to see what youve done with the place.....I  Certainly sounds like you and Diane have really been working and designing the digs!

I'm not sure how many of us are actually any good at shuffleboard, pool , or swimming around in your creek, but did you mention sweet margaritas?   Oh my mischevious fave...I can only have one because of my diabetes, maybe 1 1/2....lol. Do you have our Linda 65, and Leroy 64 coming from the Hill Country?

BBQ is fine....two votes, now.  Glad to see so many showing up.....Tony Madman Maddox?  Anyway, looking forward to it all.
