Sorry to advise that our classmate Sharon Smith Gouras’s husband Nicky, lost his fight with heart disease and leukemia and passed away peacefully in the hospital in Palestine, Tx. yesterday. It is too early to know the details of the arrangements for a service, but once they are finalized I will post them along with Sharon’s mailing address and phone number.

An update on Sharon Smith Gouras, there will be a memorial service for her husband Nicky in Palestine at their church on a date to be determined. Their church is going through a change in priests and Sharon is in touch with them on arrangements. Sharon and Nicky have a son Chris and his wife Danette, who live nearby and are holding her close and helping her daily.

Her mailing address is 602 E. Park, Palestine, Tx 75801, her phone 903-729-0874, and I am sure she would love to hear from you. She doesn’t do text or email.

So, if youse youtes are ever in the position of wanting a furry friend, check out "SCOUTS HONOR".

Thanks Beau:  Love reading your messages.  My Birthday yesterday was one to forget.  We had to put down one of our little babies yesterday.  Bella was a 13 year old Yorkie with Diabetes.  I have been giving her two shots a day for the last couple of years. I made everybody call me Dr. Mosier.  We kept her alive with lots of love and medicine but she finally had to walk that Rainbow Bridge.  I miss her so much already. She was my girl.  After that a couple of our other dogs slipped out of the yard and got out in the neighborhood.  Friend of ours got them before they got far and we returned them . I think they got out to try to find Bella. So it was a crazy day. Hope you are all well and Becky and I would love to make one of the flings but with all these dogs (down to 5 now) it is hard to do!  Hope to see you soon. All the best to all our Waltrip family.  J.C.

A Happy birthday to Ronna today.  Thanks JC.  Sorry about your furry friend.  Our furry little friends are hard to part with that's for sure.  Cooper has been gone two and a half years, and seems like only today he crossed the birdge.  A couple of years surviving with diabetes for a dog is a tough feat.  Our dog Rocky was only 6 when he died.  He had everything bad that a dog could have, including diabetes.

Never could get him regulated on his insulin, but that wasnt what killed him.  Had 3 blood transfusions, was blind, etc.  A blood disorder killed him.  Spent a fortune trying to keep him alive.  Thought we'd turned the corner and he was getting better. Brought him home from Gulf Coast Animal Clinic, layed down with him to take a nap, and he never woke up.

Had a cat named Libby that got diabetes when she was 11 methinks. We gave her a shot every 12 hours, without fail, for 7 years.  She lived to be 18 years old.    Dr Tinky, her vet said it was remarkable that she lived that long with diabetes. Usually a critter doesnt last a year with diabetes, per Dr Tinky.  Back when we gave Libby insulin, it cost 23 dollars. Then they changed the formula and raised the price. Glad it was in the last year of her life, cause it was hard to get her regulated on that new crap.  Now I understand insulin costs upwards of 150 dollars and more.

We will be thinking of you in your sorrow on the loss of your pup. I still get misty eyed thinking of all the critters that have gone on before us especially our Cooper.  Wherever he is, when it's my time, I hope I get to be with him.   Sure wish you could make it to the party on the hill, but I understand. Diane and I have not been on vacation together since 1992. That was the last time we took a trip together.  I've become something of a homebody, so it really doesnt bother me to stay home.  Just want to make sure our critters are well cared for.

Going to Galveston next weekend for our grandaughter Lucys graduation of her Masters in Occupational Therapy.  Also, Shriners Hospital has opened up a position for her there in Galveston.  they just love her,  DUH, what's not to love! ! !      Have rented a house in Galveston proper, to be at her graduation and taking our pups.  Cats will be home alone, but only for two nights.  We can put out enough food and water that they will be comfortable with.

Have to take the dogs, because Jack has to have 11 pills every 8 hours, not all 11 every 8 hours. We break it up to 3, 3 and 5. 9 of Jacks pills are for seizures, and one is for the liver, since the first 9 are hard on the liver. Pills must be working, because he hasnt had a seizure  for a year and a half. .  I forgot, We may have to take Annie-Bob with us because her thyroid has gotten funky, so now she has to have a pill once a day.  Or board her at the vets.  What to do, what to do!  Hopefully whatever you do, it will be the right thing!

I do go on dont I ! ! ! !  Well, all my critters listen very well, but are not good conversationalists.  Well, they do talk with their eyes dont they. Lots of love behind those eyes.   Anyway, Happy Birthday JC, I do hope your days will be just a touch better than yesterday.  Happy birthday again Ronna, got that rita machine  hummin.  Ok got to go, got company.

keep the sun at your six and ride boldly ride...
your frien and resident wacky critter lover, Cephus.

Happy birthday today to Linda Montgomery.    You get to reach into KITRICKS penny jar and grab a handful of copper happiness.  How fun that was back in them good ol days.  Never got to enjoy KITRICKS pleasures in person....uh, hmmm, now that didnt sound right did it!  Ok, Ok, you people get your mind out of the gutter, I meant her penny jar...jeese, some people....You folks better be studying, cause it's all gonna be on the final, and as you know, the final counts as 50 percent of your grade.  Then there's 50 percent for class participation, and 50 percent for homework, and 50 percent for all your other testssssssss.

Yes, a very happy birthday to each and everyone of youse youtes!
Here's an Idear that has been passed in front of me by my good friend TJ!   If any of youse youtes wish to bring YOUR favorite drink or food, or are on any prescribed diet, liquid and or food, please feel free to bring whatever makes you happy.  Whenever I go to a get together, I generally stock the truck with bottled water, mainly because I dont generally drink anything but water when I'm out and about.

Rest assured that we will have plenty of beer, wine, spirits, ritas, pina coladas, water, sodas, plus mixers for drinks, as we already have the aforementioned on hand.  4 plus cases of beer (99 bottles of beer on the wall), dozens of bottles of wine, many of which might not be to some folks liking.  We have a few cases of Masina Hof wines,  "ANGEL REISLING" , and "BEAU".  Yup, they named a wine for me, it is very sweet, sort of like me. Both wines are sweet, but good.   If I drink wine, it has to be sweet, or just pure welches grape juice otherwise, I just stay away from it altogether.

The idea that TJ has, and is a good one and a good point, is to lighten the load on My beloved and I as far as work on the Flall Fling. However, this Fling, is really a Godsend for Diane and me, a labor of love, and I can promise you,  a far better ride than any in all of the Disney Whirld Kingdom.   However, if anyone wishes to bring ANYTHING, you are more than welcome.  If there are "twoies and threeies" of items over what is needed, then I'm sure we can put our collective heads together and figure something out.

Have I muddied the water up too much?   If you wish to bring something for diet needs, or just to help out, any and all is greatfully welcomed, but not necessarily a mandate.  Whatever youse youtes do, JUST COME AND HAVE A HAPPY TIME WITH US ON THE HILL.  As time draws near to the party, I will keep you abreast of what we have and what might be needed.

Actually, if one wanted to bring chips and dips, that would be appreciated.  We will have CORN CHIPS AND SALSA AND CHEESE DIP, that comes with the catering. So Diane and I will stick to corn chips and salsa and cheese dip on hand, and yall can bring tater chips and othe dips, howzthat?

Let us know if there is anything we are forgetting.  Any and all suggestions are welcome.  As of this typing, we have just 28 people signed up, and 2 tentative.

Please pray for our dear classmate, Allen Geiser.  I just talked to Betty and he has been in the hospital since Friday with heart issues.  He will have surgery today at 3:00 at Methodist for defibrillator/pacemaker.  God Bless Allen and Betty.  I'll keep you posted.

Update, they took Allen for pre-op because surgery was moved to 1:30 instead of 3:00.  Allen was upbeat and glad they moved surgery up so he could eat sooner!  God Bless

Haven't been on in some time and see that Allen is having heart surgery. My husband had quardruple bypass surgery three years ago and we understand how serious these situations are. Praying for Allen to have complete recovery and back to his old self.  Betty, you will be his nurse for a few days so be "ready".

On another note, please keep Kay Kepler Bonner in your prayers as well. She was just released from the hospital today with medical issues. All tests came back normal but it was a stressful and upsetting time.

Good News!!!  Allen's surgery is over and he was taken to recovery room at 7:30.  Everything went well --he had the defibrillator placement as well as a pacemaker.  The doctor was very pleased with how everything went.  Thank you God!  Our prayers continue for a healthy recovery.  And prayers for Kay, too.  God Bless

Hi out there in Waltripian Land. I have been reading the goings and comings on the forum from my very SMART iphone, but the smarty pants iphone will not let me respond. By the time I get to the computer I have forgotten any response I might have made and since I have read the postings already ... well you get the picture. Anyway, Happy BIrthdays and all the BEST wishes I wanted to make to all you wonderful "posters".

Granddaughter No. 1, Meghan Thomasson and her fiance, Andy Barreras, are having a GARAGE SALE at our house this weekend. All those things that I have been worrying about what to do with are going in the sale. She is raising $$$ to finish her last semester at HBU. YES!!! to GRADUATE!!!. Come on by the house on at 2310 Carleen Road, Houston 77018 on Saturday August 25th to visit, buy or contribute.  I often remind the grand kids. "Pennies make dollars, dollars make hundreds and hundreds make thousands so save those pennies!!!

The Wedding - December 29, 2018 - Andy is a great young man!

Another granddaughter is off to Bowling Green University in Ohio to continue her education in "Art with a Digital Focus". I have no idea just what part of the digital she plans to focus, but I am certain she will do well.

Richard and I are busy, but think we are not... life on Carleen is good.

See y'all at Beau's in October !!!
