Kay Watters '65 (Greene)

Beau and Diane,  so sorry about your neighbor, we all have the faith that he is in a better place.  He was too young.

Payers are with his young family.  Our age group I suppose, has to endure so many endings of life. It is especially hard to see those we love, lose their lives too soon.

Beau Wann, Jr.

Johnny and Kay, thank you for your support and prayers, and thank you one and all for your support and prayers.  Visitation is Thursday eenin from 5 till 8 and then again from 12 to 1, and I guess it will be at Woodlawn, but then back to OSL for the actual services, then back to Woodlawn for interment, then back to Osl for reception, at least that's what I understood when I was suppose to understand it.  My beloved knows what's what, so she wont let me go astray, askew or otherwise willy nilly.

Jan Barnes '65 (Nimtz)

We too are so sorry for Jeff's loss. They were our neighbers as well in Candlelight Oaks for over twenty-six years and our boys grew up there with Jeff and his parents before Jeff & Cathy lived in that house.. I am sorry we cannot attend the services as we just returned from our Scandinavian "vacation" as sick as dogs. I don't know where that saying comes from, but we are both really sick. Back to the doc today to try to find something that helps ease the misery as the Scandinavians medical formulas did very little to help. And a 23 hr. flight day home only made our symptoms worse.

Our hearts go out to Cathy & Lucy and the rest of Jeff's family and we wish them the eventual peace that passes all understanding. We will be with you all in heart & spirit and are sending many friends and relatives to the services as our envoys. God bless you all.

Teddie Jordan

Sorry for your loss Beau and Diane. And thank you for your being with them Diane, you can pretend to care, but you can't pretend to be there..

Jan, it sounds like y'all got the Viking version of Montezuma's revenge. Maybe Thor's revenge.  And a 23 hour flight, must have been some layovers? You can fly to Asia in less time.  I'm sure home sweet home never looked better.

And Cephus, count us in on the Spring class ball game. Sounds like a fun idea. Instead of the boys of spring, it will be the old folks of spring!

10/21/16 08:17 AM #8208

Jan Barnes '65 (Nimtz)

Teddie, not so much Montezuma's revenge as double pneumonia. I saw the doc yesterday. He wanted to hospitalize me but I promised to rest and drink fluids at home. Got two injections, two nebulizer treatments and four prescriptions to bring home. Feeling much better this morning but still have a long road ahead. BTW I recalculated now that my head is more clear and the flight day was only 19 hrs. Yes, lots of flight changes & layovers. One truly miserable day in planes & airports.

Good Chappell Hill mornin to you all myne fyne waltripyne fryens.  The above pic was about 30 minutes ago.  Temperature is 43 degrees......The string of lights down in the valley is the start of my Christmas lighting program. They are along the top of our new 2 split rail fence.....Preety huh ! ! !

Thanks TJ, and Jan.   My goodness, DOUBLE PAMONIA?  Single pamonia is bad enough, but double?   Hope you will be feeling better sooner rather than later.  I've had double and single and everything inbetween and then some.  Doc Frahnckenstein gave me a pamonia shot back in 13 methinks. Consulted the resident physician/pharmacist, my beloved, and that's the year she said.   Gonna check with doc Holiday about getting another one. There's a shot  out now that covers about 5 strains of pamonia.

Why is it on the days you need to be at your b est, I'm at my worst. What ever the cold front  brought in, dropped it off at our house. Diane was sick, and my sinuses were acting a fool. Sneezing and wheezing, not one earache, but two...sinus headache etc, plus the night  before didnt get any sleep, so got out of bed around 3. Tossin and turning ought to have worn me out, but no. So, I baked some cupcakes about 330.

We dropped off the kids at the vets, along with fresh baked cupcakes, and then headed into Houston to attend Jeffs services.  All went well I suppose, as well as you can expect at a funeral. Kathy and Lucy were trying to keep a stiff upper lip, but it's hard when you lose someone that is a part of you.   If friends and hugs are healing, Kathy and Lucy and all concerned should be healed in a megaparsec.  More than hundreds of friends and family was there as support.

Church was beautiful. And I suppose the service was nice, lots of great words spoken by the pastor. However, (and aint there always a however) about the only two words that I could understand, were RESURECTION AND GOD ! ! !  And I had my hearing aids on also too ! ! ! It's like everyone is speaking a foreign language, and the pastor had a microphone ! ! !   It sure does make a body feel like they are alone when you cant hear, or understand what people are saying.  Kinda makes me feel like I dont want to leave the house anymore.

Plus I kept having to leave the sanctuary to sneeze. Just embarassed me to no end !

Ok, got to go pick up the kids from the vets. Want to get there before they open. I feel so bad for having to leave them there overnight. I understaand, but they dont!  I'll be back though....

Was anyone watching  Fox 26 news  this morning.  Nate Griffin, Fox 26,  spent the morning with the Waltrip High School Rams for a special edition of  Friday Football Fever.  Nice to see the football boys wearing slacks, dress shirts, and ties.   You can go to Fox 26 news and see the featured Rams.  Waltrip plays Wisdom High School tonight.

Hello myne fyne waltripynes....Just thought I'd share a picture of my new LAPTOP....Yeah, that's what  I thought too also !   My beloved and her friend were cleaning out her friends moms house, and she said, she said,  "hey, found a laptop and  my friend said we could have it"...Oh boy I thought, a new laptop, now I can start my book....Seems my beloved has developed MY sense of humor, wouldnt you say! ! !

If you will note, the "laptop" is Carrie Underwoods personal one, and I'm expecting her to show up  to OFFICIALLY  present it to me.  See the stack of papers on the left?  That is the first chapter of my book.  Cool huh !   Yeah, wont be long before it will appear on the "Best Sellers" list.

Hope to get to see all yall tonight...your frien and personal almost best selling author,
Alfred Lord Wannyson...

Teddie Jordan

Johnny, it was another fun get together. Thank you for all of your efforts organizing and coordinating these flings. They are perfect.

And thank you Lord for letting Fran and I be a part of such a great, friendly, loving, laughing, caring, hugging, special group of people!

We stayed at our daughter Nicole's house this week while she and Curt went on a trip. When we got ready to come to Goode's yesterday I told 15 year old grandson JAMES Theodore, who I had been driving to his high school all week, that we were getting together with some of the "kids" we went to high school with. He got a kick out of my word choice.  Seventy something year old kids, but still kids when we gather. As I said after our 50th we were all close to 70 when we got there, but fifteen minutes later we were all 17 again. Pretty sweet time machine!

And, I want to thank Johnny, too for the planning. Also, thanks to Jackie for keeping us all informed.  See ya next year ! ! ! !

Had a great time at the get together on Saturday.  Thank you Johnny and everyone else who helped put the event together.  It was so awesome to see all of you and reconnect.  Through the years we first talked about our children, and then our grandchildren and now for many of us our great grandchildren. (I am still waiting on the great grandchildren).   I marvel at the way we have all stayed connected.   I feel so blessed to know you all!  I will see you guys in the Spring.

So sorry to hear that news Scotty. I remember Eddie through all of our school years and wondered why he wasn't listed in our class. Eddie was always a lot of fun, laughing and joking and cutting up. Just the thought of him makes me smile.

Weren't Jackie Waneck and Eddie cousins?

Rest In Peace Eddie.

Hello myne fyne waltripynes...yes, kudos to Johnny for a great find in Goode Company for our fall flang.
So good to see everyone. Couldnt understand a lot of what was spoke at me, but it was comforting to be with you, incommunicado as I was so to speak !

Been a while since I've been on the forum. Been fighting a bug, a minor bug, but aggravating nonetheless.  So tired by the time that lazy ol sun peeks it's head above the ridge across the valley.  And hurting, that by the time the end of the day approaches, I'm just too wiped out to get on the computer.

Went to mah sawbones, good ol Doc Holliday, and they did tests, and stuff. Everything came back normal, or so he says. Well, they were just blood tests.   My blood pressure spiked up to almost 200 over 180, for some unknown reason.  Been normal ever since.  My blood pressure is usually less than 120 over 70, pulse always in the 50 to 60 range.    He says they have revised the normal range for all you old folks, somewhere around 150 over 80. He explained why !  Low blood pressure can encourage blood clots, at least that's what I think he said. I'll query my resident doctor/pharmacist when she gets back from choir.

He did prescribe a stronger pain pill for me, of which I just took one, and methinks it has kicked in.  Why all the chit chat on my health?  I dont know, I do know we all have the same problems here and there with our health, so just trying to connect with you.  The new pill I took, just made my fingers numb, or number than usual. so I guess it's woikin.

Hmmm, there was a reason I got on here, but for the life of me, cant remember why!  Well, I truly enjoyed seeing everyone at the fall fling, and that's an understatement.  When I recall seeing everyone, yall are all smiling ! ! !   What a great thing to beable to conjure that up in my recollector!  Ok, I'll go away, but just wanted to thank everyone for being who you are and accepting me for who I am, whoever that is.

Keep the sun at your six, and ride boldly ride...
your dopey frien, ol dopey me.. still alive and kicking softly deep in the heart of the Brazos valley, Chappell Hill, Texas 77426 of the whirld....

Jan Barnes '65 (Nimtz)

So sad to inform those of you who have not seen this on Facebook that Tim Ware (Waltrip alumni, but graduated Spring Branch class of 1966) passed away yesterday, 11/09/16 in San Antonio from complications of recent heart bypass surgery. May he rest in peace.

11/11/16 07:14 AM #8228

Beau Wann, Jr.

Sorry to hear about Tim, not sure if I ever had the pleasure of meeting him.  Thank you Jan for alerting us of Tims passing.  We dont get a newspaper up here in rural America, so we cant check the obituaries. Seems it's just too hard to have someone throw the paper to us. Why the poor darlings just might have to actually get out of bed and leave the house to deliver the paper, and that can lead to "paper boy delivery syndrome" which can lead to "poor self esteem" and who knows where that might lead.

The Houston Pravda always calls us to see if we will sign up for home delivery, which I always do. Then we dont get the paper, and I call them, and they tell us we are in a no delivery area, so I cancel the subscription. Then they call and want us to subscribe, to which I do, then we get no paper, and I call them, and we are told we are in a no delivery area, and I cancel the subscription....adfinitum, etc etc etc....waiting on them to call again so I can subscribe....yet again.

Why dont I just go to the corner "stop and rob" you ask?  Well, buying one at the store costs $4.00 American dollars. That's a mite much for bird cage liner, and BBQ pit fire starter, dontcha think. I havent asked them if they will just mail us a copy, like the WALL STREET JOURNAL will.

I remember in the service, guys were getting their hometown paper in the mail, sometimes a week late, but somethings are better late than never, sometimes, eh what!  I've even subscribed to the WSJ, which they mailed to me, and really liked it, but it was just too much information to read and diseminate, and I  couldnt keep up with it.  I think they should go to maybe oncet a week, or twicet a week.....they havent actually asked me yet for my advice, but I'm sure the call is forthcoming.

I tried the ONLINE paper, and I hated it. Dont like blue tube reading, much prefer hard copy! ! ! Oh well, I've become less interested in the news as I've grown older and much much wiser!

Which leads me to my next thought, how are you and Ed doing? Have you gotten over the Double Pneumonia?  It's a tough one to shake. I've found when I've had the double P, or even single P, sitting with the sun on my back seemed to make me feel just a tad better. Even though we are closer to the sun, being up here on Wolverton Mounting, havent seen much of it this past week!   Had almost 4 inches of rain one day this week or whenever it rained last.  In fact it's raining now, softly, but still raining nonetheless.

Went to my sawbones, Doc Holliday, and received my pneumonia shot, and tetnus shot, one in each arm. Glad they evened it out like that because I would sure hate to deprive BOTH sides from hurting.  Got a notice from my insurance agency, Dewey, Cheatum and Howe, that the tetnus shot is not covered because it's not a PREVENTATIVE shot.......! ! ! ! ! ! ?????????? WHAT?????  I dont know what moron they have for consulting on meds, but PREVENTION, is all a tetnus shot is about.

Doc referred me to a rhumatolagist !   But of course, they dont use our insurance, and if they did, the insurance company probably would say, they dont cover rhumatolagists, only arthritis ointment, prop H. Was going to get our shingle shot this week, but situations beyond our control have pushed it back to next week. Doc H says if youre going to get a shingles shot, and see a pain doc or rhumatolagist and get prescribed arthritis meds, get the shot first. Why you ask?  Well, the arthritis meds lower your immune systems ability to fight infections, and if you get the shot after you go on the meds, you will for sure get shingles! ! !

They're teaching the wrong things in school, or they need to add courses like LIFE 101, GROWING OLDER 101.  And say, whilst they are at it, why not teach the brats how to write in CURSIVE, and how to solve math problems without a CALCULATOR....???????  Oh, that's right, they did didnt they, and the brats mommies and daddies thought that was just too cruel, so they quit teaching the aforementioned, and now, the poor little darlings with their wounded "self esteem", wont have to do homework anymore!   The inmates are running the asylum ! ! !  "AND JUST WHY CAN'T MY SWEET LITTLE MISUNDERSTOOD JOHNNY/SUE BRING A GUN TO SCHOOL"?????   "Why that's just mean spirited"!

I asked an official person about "signatures", and how do folks that DONT KNOW HOW TO WRITE IN CURSIVE, sign official documents, to which the reply was, "they can print their names"....."OMG" says I! Now I am practicing my cursive, making it prettier and prettier hoping to phreaque out some non cursive person, sending them into throes of unbridled loss of self esteem ! ! !  Gosh, I'm so mean ! ! !

Maybe one of the non cursive brats will figure out that PRINTING ones name, is sooooo much eaiser to forge than writing ones name ! ! !  Or not !  Probably dont care eyether !

Ok, me, the smartest person in this room, sitting in for a live and reasonable person, however hard,  we hope to have one here next go round, and return control of your TV back to you!  "The fault does not lie with this network or station, just whack the set upside it's head a few times, and maybe things will get back to normal, whatever normal might be"  ! ! ! ! !

Keep the sun at your six, if you can find it, and ride boldly ride...and endeavor to persevere...
your frien and resident krazy person, with low self esteem, and high ideals...Katmandufus
