I remember Sound Track was a really special show each year and it was sponsored by Track Team and Band. Bert Roth was my favorite teacher. He died a number of years ago but before he died I was able to visit with him several times out at Country Side off 288.
The other person I remember the most is Harry Lantz who conducted our Houston All-City Orchestra. One of the items on my busket list is to work with someone on doing a web site honoring both Bert and Harry. These two gentlemen touched a number of lives for the better. Had it not been for them, I would probably be serving time today up in Huntsville rather than having an MBA from Sam.
I also thank God for people like Gordon Cotton, Joe Tusa and Mrs. Blount. There were others as well but my memory fails me. We were all really blessed to have a faculty that really cared about students.
Update! Marcia and I now live in Galena Illinois during the summer. We bought a small Condo and love it. It is nice to get out of this Texas heat during the summer and come back to Texas in the Winter.
