Comments:    Hi, everybody. I had a number of friends in your class so wanted to Visit a spell and say hello.

So...where have I been and how did I fetch up in New York? Briefly:

Lived & worked in Austin 1965-79, Houston 1979-86,
Saudi Arabia 1982 & 1986-88, Mexico 1982, Portland OR 1988-99, Albany NY 1999-present. 1st marriage to Mary Ann 1976-81. With Lil 1988-present, married 9/1/1991 at 9 minutes after 1 so ol' Steve could remember it.

I started off as a physics/math major at UT but worked a year as a research assistant in nuclear fusion research which put me off - didn't think it would ever give practical results (it still hasn't) so switched to statistics & computer science. It's good that I like it (usually) 'cause I still do it! I went to UT Austin through graduate school 1965-1978. Worked in Austin (mostly community planning & computer consulting) 1968-79 then moved to Houston to take part in the Oil Boom: Mitchell Energy, Aramco, & Shell Oil.

Fled Houston and the Oil Bidness Bust in 1988.
Worked in financial systems (mostly banking) 1988-95 First Interstate Bank, 1995-current Key Bank. They closed the Key office in Portland and offered me a job in Albany. Lil wanted to move here to take care of her dad and other elderly relatives so 'Providence provided'. Lil is church administrator of our church: Niskayuna RCA aka 'Dutch Reformed Church of Niskayuna'.

Lil & I play music, especially with renaissance, baroque, & mandolin-family instruments. We also both sing. Lil also plays keyboards.

I have a 'support group' of a few fellow Texans up here and, thankfully, there are a number of good or adequate Tex-Mex restaurants around for a 'fix'.

When we retire (if we ever can), Texas seems awfully attractive...
