Totally Beau, you are a chocolate chip oatmeal cookie all wrapped up in one mind...you really missed your calling. In case you claim authorship rights, I have printed your last message and gave to the school secretary to guffaw at as well, 'cause when she comes in my office most mornings she finds me laughing at my computer.

Seriously, I was thinking today (danger, danger) that February is made to make us all feel despair and desperation for the light at the end of the 6 week tunnel, sunshine and spring! I wondered why I had to be born in February. Not enough seratonin to keep away the spells of gloom and doom!

Nope, you are not old, as I have done the same thing myself walking across the house for something I need, loss of what it was and having to retrace my steps to try to resurrect what I forgot. Did it this morning while dressing for work, in search of an aspirin, couldn't remember why I went into the kitchen, only staring vacantly at the corner of the room (where the aspirin lies) I recovered and took one (baby aspirin). I have little tricks to remember if I took my insulin though and which one to take, but sometimes I do forget.

Frustrating to watch Lawrence Welk....so corny, and cute. The Lennon Sisters were my very favorites, I adored little Janet! Thought they could do no wrong, and if they did, they kept it to themselves, not spread out all over the news and media. That is what should be called back into use. More information than I ever needed or wanted to know about famous or political people. Take down their outrageous salaries and let them just be regular people with private lives. The sins are the same ones as we've ever had, but do we have to take such delight in using this as entertainment. I vote No.

Burg, your dogs are sound soooo cute. I've gotten a lot of pleasure out of mine as well. They do make life definitely more bearable and they depend on us for their own well-being.

I like to move my house around too, folks, but not as dramatic as Beau, and if you have semi-blind dogs, best to keep everything about the same. I have a dog that acts totally nuts. She sees dark as a "hole" I think and won't step on it. She backs up and runs like ""H" all of a sudden, and she won't cross the threshold of my back door....no matter what! Keeps me laughing!

Thanks for the laughs, chuckles and information.

Y'all are really with it ---
Beau, if you get another "rearranging furniture" attack come on over to my house. I used to move all my furniture around, but now -- it just stays put --- don't have the strength like I used to. And yes, we are probably all in that "what did I come in here for?" phase. And it's happening more frequently -- scary!

Richard and Scotty, thanks for all the dining tips in the Haights. As you know I don't live far -- and didn't have a clue these places existed. I'll have to venture out!!

Kay, Jennie and all -- yes, Kaplan's Ben-Hur. What an icon -- it was my mother's favorite place. We spent many hours shopping there. Well, heck we were probably all there at the same times with our moms and didn't know it. Mom knew all the sales clerk. And in fact, she was a "stay at home mom" but worked one Christmas there just for the fun of it. We always had the most beautiful presents under the tree - yep, they all came from Kaplans.

There were the two Kaplan brothers - one stayed in the background but the other one was always roaming the store and visiting - very friendly. His wife on the other hand oversaw the gift department - she wasn't at all friendly. And then in later years there was Martin, their son -- yes, many great memories and sad that the store closed.

Burge, saw the pics of your dogs on your profile - they are beautiful and certainly enjoyed hearing their "individual personalities" ---

Wayne - loved your "Full Moon" description -- just too bad it was so cloudy we couldn't see it here, I tried, but nope.

Remember next Tuesday, Feb. 9 is Fudd's - anxious to see all of you!

Happy Almost Valentines! You guys remember your brides!
Hugs,
J

hey beau sorry i got coop mixed up with gus.theres nothing wrong with my memory, when i can find it.

02/03/10 07:27 PM #2157

Beau Wann, Jr.

Burge,
dont feel bad about calling coop, gus! Hell he's my dog, and EVEN I FORGET HIS NAME!!! He doesnt care anyway, he'll answer to Gus or hey you! Actually, he really doesnt answer to anything, except a higher power from the mother ship!!! Thanks one and all, about the memory loss info! It sounds so funny when someone else says they go into a room and forget why they went in to the room! Kay Jackie and burge, you kracked me up! Hell, I crak me up, and half the time I cant even hear me, or know what I'm talking about...

Did anyone understand what I just said???? If not, good, then we all be in the dark!

Jackie, I help you move your furniture any time! I would of course, have to come over and assess your moving needs, and couple that to the utility of whichever room we were going to move!!! Once again, my brain just isnt grasping what I'm saying!!!! I think I need some coffee and a brownie!!! one of those funny brownies...anyone anyone???

Met my beloved at Krogers after work last night! Helps to have two of us getting stuff!! Well, except when I pick up y2k spam and chili and corned beef hash! I put it in the basket, and my beloved takes it out of the basket and puts it back! Well, I've done my job!!!!
But, when we get home and I'm helping to put the stuff away, lo and behold, I come across ONE ONION!!!!!
I just put it away, and didnt say anything, right away! But you know I have to say something dont you!!!

Well, today, I asked, "Dear, why did you buy just one onion"? She replied, "well, you never know when you might need one"!!!!! (How she kept a straight face, I dont know).............."NUH UH"???? Says I!( I think she was just messin with me)
Are you sure???? Ok, ladies, is that true? You might need a onion sometime???? You know, thats what I tell her when I want to buy a new gun, or a widget or some such stuff, like Y2K SPAM!!!!

An onion huh???? Boy she's strange!!! WHAT??? YOU THINK I'M STRANGE???? NAAAAHHHHH, just nuts!!!!!

Speaking of strange, my dogs are just freaking me out with their freakiness!!!! Last night they were both up at 130 AM, dancing around and hanging out in our bedroom, which is something they never do!!! I pretended I didnt see or hear them, so my beloved got up and let them out, and they just stood there!!! So she comes back to bed, and they came back in the bedroom, and were both shaking their heads and clanking their collars and tags!!!! "SHUT UP YOU STUPID DOGS" I said tenderly!!!

Finally my beloved gets up and lays down on the couch with em and she said it took a while for them to settle down! This morn, I got up early, and fed all the critters and cleaned boxes etc, and let DW sleep in!
I tried not to make any noise, but with me, thats just an invitation to be a one man band!!! So, I'm tippy toeing around in the dark, or dim light, when Cooper starts barking his fool head off!

He has hardly uttered a sound in two years, and now, when I need quiet, he sounds like an 800 pound chahooahooa!!! "SHUT UP YOU STUPID DOG", I says lovingly!!!! Must a been someone trying to get in the house, cause coop just doesnt bark!!! So I grab my bazooka, and head for the front door, and no intruder, I check all the windows, nothing!!!
Never did find what he was barking at! I guess, he felt he'd been quiet long enough!!! These critters are weirdin me out!!!! Musta been sasquatch at the door!!!

DW has choir tonight, so I'm bachein it! Jack is asleep at my feet, and running with his feet, and going nowhere!!! He fell asleep in mid play with his rubber squeaky chicken!!! What a character!!!!

Well, my mind is slip sliding away, so maybe I'll do the same! Might be back afterwhile!!! I know, thanks for the warning!!!!
Yours truly duly
quasimodo

Why is it so hard to be patient? Especially when you are in a hurry for something! I cracked my kneecap Dec. 15 and expected to be in the knee brace (immobilizer)for 4-6 weeks. Four days before the last (I hoped) appointment, it got postponed for a week. It has been the longest week of my life, thinking maybe the brace would have been off last week if I had the appointment on schedule. So it will be 7 1/2 weeks Friday. Oh well, it will eventually get here and life goes on. Everything could have been so much worse. I guess that's what we get as we get OLD!

Stay warm and dry everyone!

strange you should mention the one onion thing ...onions were expensive last night, so I bought only 1 as well. White went for .99/lb, with yellow & red at $1.29/lb. Tony Maddox was shopping as well, my pastor, some church members, didn't know Navasota at 5 p.m. was the social hour...LOL.

Gloria , hope your knee comepletely heals and you have no further problems, I popped something in my left knee, went to the Fondren Ortho Center, as I was participating in 5K runs, pronounced all is fine, exercises to do given. It has never been the same, and I no longer do 5K runs, there is something about our age and prevention that I think needs to be heeded. It still hurts expecially when the cat jumps on my lap and I have to stretch out my legs to accomodate it, can't find a comfortable angle to relieve it.

Looked at your bio, Gloria, very nice family. What is happening in old town Katy? I've wanted to explore around the 'old town, and wondering when would be the best time to attend? Rodeo, antiques, popular community events, xmas, etc. - ours would have to be "bluebonnet season - so gorgeous.

Played catch-up on the Forum today... Thanks everyone.

I am home today... like in did not go to work! I strained my left shoulder recently and it is talkin' to my left arm. It is not saying nice things. The pain pierces my upper arm and plays chase around and down past my elbow. Got hooked up (and tangled up) with the TENS unit and some muscle relaxers (see stayed home - did not go to work above).

Last night at choir we were practicing a WOW of a song and I felt this tingling moving on me... I thought to my self, "Self, God is moving in this room"... then remembered I was hooked up to the little electrical impulse device. I'm still not sure it wasn't the Spirit moving in my soul!

All is well otherwise in the town with the big school. I am sitting by the little heater watching the drizzle.

Little kids are well, which reminds me to tell you Lloyd, the little kids do listen sometime. Recently Jacob who is 7 asked his little sister, Marianne 5, to help him "tump" something out. I was thrilled at his grasp of the English language. Somethings are not lost!!!

Well the drugs have found their mark and I am having trouble getting the keys to type correctly.

OK,
but why just one onion????? And why now??? Why not yesterday, or tomorrow, or next week??? As far as I knew and know, there is no plan to use this onion for anything! No onion rings, no soup, no hot dogs or hamburgers!!!! So now, this onion has been separated from it's other onion friends and family, and for what!? So it could sit all alone in our fridge???

So, I, decided to make use of said onion! I made a peppered turkey sandridge for lunch today! I ran over to Randalls, (dont usually shop there, they are too high, but they do know my name, and say it correctly. to me thats worth a trip or two) bought some bread! Not just any bread, but TEXAS TOAST bread! Yessum! Not whole wheat, or 27 grain, or any of that supposed to be good for a old man bread, but genuine, WHITE, THICK, TEXAS TOAST bread! I'm waiting for DW to get home, so she can aske me why I bought that kind of bread!!! She'll say, "it has too many carbs, and too much sugar, and too much this and that, and not enough of the other stuff, and it really has no nutritional value, blah blah blah"!!! My answer will be, "because we didnt have any, so tough nougies, you dont want to eat this bread, dont eat it, that will just be that much more for me"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or words to that effect!!!!

So, where was I, oh yeah, I made a peppered turkey sandridge, with WHITE THICK TEXAS TOAST BREAD, real cheddar cheese, very thin sliced tomato, pepper, dark green lettuce, sliced bread and butter pickles, more pepper, and one thin slice of...ONION!!!! TADAAAAH
If I'd had some liverwurst, I'd a put that on the samn dangwitch!!! It was gooooooood!!!!! Even had fritos with it. Then, dug around in my antique "Lance" candy jar,
and came up with some 72 percent cacao chocolate!!!
Then I had myself a old man nap!!!!

Where the hell are my glasses???? where the hell is the remote???? Where the hell am I????
Who the hell am I???? Better get me another samitch and anothe slice O onion!!!!

You know, like most of you out there, we buy things on sale, and such! Well, I buy bread at costco 2 fer 5 dollars! Its the 45 grain wholewheat bread thats good for a old man! But, when I have to give half of it to the birds, because it crumbled all apart, then I didnt save any money!!!!! I mean, its reall hard to make a sandridge out of bread crumbs, aint it!!!! Thats why I went to Randalls and got the WHITE TEXAS TOAST BREAD!!! Sometimes trying to do the right thing, just doesnt work out, does it!!!!!

So today I did all wrong stuff!!! Gonna make chili with onion, for supper! Just took a dozen corn muffins out of the oven, and got a batch of oat bran muffins gonna be out in 20 minutes! Gonna eat one of each too! Might even have a slice O onion with em!!!

Ok, Gloria and Kay, QUIT BANGING YOUR KNEES!!!!!Yall made my knees hurt just reading about it!!!
I use to hit mine, and there is a spot that is like your funny bone, which I dont find very funny! Man, it hurts when I do tthat!!!

Gonna be working on a 60th anniversary party for the Cunninghams this saturday at our little country church int the city.about 60 people have rsvp'd! DW has pretty much done it all! I stayed out of the way, just offering help when asked! Gonna do the music! Got about 9 hours of big band and swing! only supposed to last 3 hours, so I guess I got the music covered!!!
Kevin is catering the food and making a 6 layer 3 tiered wedding cake for the event!!! He is a pretty good caterer and cake maker!!!

See ya Tuesday mehopes! I be back on the forum later tonight or tomorrow! So, yall jump rat on in!!!
Attila the quasimodo ogre of Notre oak forest

PS; PAIGE!!!! WHAT IN THE NAME OF PETE ARE YOU SMACKIN YOUR SHOULDER AROUND FOR??? iT WILL FEEL BETTER WHEN IT STOPS HURTING!!!! Eat a banana!!!! have some cheese!!! eat an onion!!!

Richard Meek '65

Beau, I keep wondering when you sign off as Attila. .. .
Is that as in . . . .the Hun or is that as in Attila from the comic strip Mother Goose and Grim ? I wonder about these things.

Yesterday I mentioned the book Food Rules. I remembered a couple more of Michael Pollan's funny thoughts. To be healthy eat real food. Real food is food that your grandmother and great grandmother would recognize. Also, real food is not advertised on TV. In addition to that eat mostly plant food, not food that is made in a plant. Beau just so you don't start having a guilt trip over your TEXAS TOAST indulgence, he also suggests that you break the rules once in a while. The folks at the Blue Bell Creamery will appreciate that!

I keep reading in these messages people referring to themselves as old. You need to stop that. Use my sister's suggestion. If you have to categorize yourself refer to yourself as not young. I think we would all be well advised to quit thinking about it! (easy to say, huh?)

Everyone have a great evening!
Richard
Vaya con Dios y buenas suerte!

02/04/10 11:19 PM #2163

Beau Wann, Jr.

Richard,
that would be Attila the hun, as in "hey attila, would you like some more coffee hun"? There's a few spots out there wher the waitress still calls me "hun"! I use to like Mother Goose and grimm, but they went politically left on me! So, I dont read them anymore! Just funny that way, I guess!!!

Was Attila the hun, Hungarian??? Or was he just hungry???
I'M GONNA ASK AGAIN, DOES ANYONE WANT A CUTE LITTLE CHOCOLATE POINT SIMONIZE KITTY???? tHE LITTLE DARLIN!!!
HE IS SO CUTE AND TALKS AND STANDS UP AND IS JUST THE LOVINEST LITTLE THING!!! I WILL HAVE HIM NOTARIZED TO THAT HE WILL BE IMPORTANT! SO, YOU CAN HAVE A NOTARIZED SIMONIZED KITTY!!! HE IS JUST SOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!

Yes, it's ok to break the food rules oncet in a while!
Why just today, I broke em all to hell and gone! And because of it, I am suffering!!! Had chili with onions and cheddar cheese, and jalapenos, and fritos and pepper and franks hot sauce!!! Thank goodnesss for pepcid AC!!!

I wont do that again, until the next time! Now I know why I dont eat onions and stuff like that!

Heard from one of our lost classmates, and they are coming to Fudds next Tuesday!!! I aint tellin who it is, so ifin you want to know, be there, or be square!!!!

Thought I had more stuff to say, but I guess I dont!
Besides the voices in my head are tellin me to hang up!!!
So, goodnight Mrs Simpson, where ever you are!!!
Pewwwwwww!!!! Man, I dont know what John boy got into, but he's stinkin up the joint!!!!! Goodnight John Boy,
Good night granpa...Say goodnight Gracie...Goodnight Gracie!!!!!
Quasi-modo; Seemingly, but not actually a modo???
Hmmm! What, pray tell, is a modo??? A modusoporendi???
Will you shut up and say goodnight????
NITE!!!!!

Thanks to Paige I will know the answer now to the quote; "God Moves in mysterious ways."

Methinks it is an onion conspiracy!!!
I generally dont cook any soup with onion, because if there are any left overs, I want to be able to give it to my dogs, rather than just throw it out! BECAUSE DOGS AND CATS, CANNOT, I REPEAT, CANNOT HAVE ONIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!iT WILL KILL THEM!!!!! NOT FAST, BUT SLOW AND NASTY!!!!

We now have an onion and a half!!!! Found a partial onion languising in the icebox!!! I went to fetch it, and tumped over a mess stuff!!! I recollected having made this same mess a short spell earlier! I told the little woman, that I was a fixin to clean it up directly!!!!

The voices say, "get out"!!!!
So, I get out!!!

An item of interest for you. In the upcoming Winter Olympics a Houstonian will be competing. Ruben Gonzalez a 1988 graduate of Houston Baptist University will be competing for his native Argentina in the Luge competition. Ruben will be the first person to ever compete in 4 Olympics in 4 different decades. He had to miss several Olympics because he couldn't afford the cost of training and competing. As most Olympians do, he has to pay his own expenses. Anyway if you'd like to read an article about him go to:www.universalsports.com/news/article/newsid=404594.html Or you may be able access it through the HBU website at www.hbu.edu. I thought you might be interested. We don't have many Winter Olympians from Houston.

where do all the depressed people go on saturday?am i the only one left out here?i admit,im the most depressed, but that is my way of life,im used to it.i guess ill just have to live with it.my little window on the world is becoming depressing in itself.anybody check out the news on wheere all the money went.the gov wanted to make it top secret so nobody could find out;the high court said they cant do that.what a country we have.no more hiding for the main crooks smart as they are;i mean no one in the country was as smart as tim geitner, right?thats what we were told, time after time.with friends like his you can buy anything, even the government.but he didnt buy it for himself,it was for all those little people who couldnt afford homes;still cant as they are thrown out on thier can and theoretically we now have them back to sell again.aint it marvalous.marvalous-marvalous-marvolous.but of course with an attny gen like holder, the fbi cant investigate all his friends.now that wouldnt work, would it?so the little people loose again and thier great champions look all too much like thieves.who is aig anyway;just a bunch of real smart people who know how to take a lot of money from us.the people.who-what- when- where- why? comeon 'untouchables'do your duty.ill be waiting in the car.

Cheer up, spring will be here soon. I can't wait to see all the shades of green coming out on the tree limbs. Right now our yard's St. Augustine grass is brown except along the front curb. The weedy grass there is a bright green, which I attribute to all the dogs that walk by. I guess I should go out and mow it?

Hi Kay,
I actually I live about 10 miles north of Navasota off hwy 6 on a few acres that have been in the family for years. I always worked in or around Houston and College Station and commuted. Never had enough time to get involved in the local community, probably have passed you in asiles of Bookshire Bros and didn't know it. Love living in the country.

Hi Lloyd, no green or brown grass in Berlin, but I can walk on the lakes. Just snow now for more than five weeks, but the birds are singing. Spring coming? Perhaps the birds know.

Last winter like this about 30 years ago. But I like it, because people are talking to each other because of all this mess, but no depression around here, John B, life really can be great today!

In two hours its midnite in Berlin and yall are hanging in front of your TV to watch New Orleans win, its to late for me and no TV at home anyway, but I think, they are bringing it on radio.

Stay warm in Houston or whereever you are,

Beau Wann, Jr.

I know what would be good for curing depression!!!!
Frahd grain damaters!!!!!!!!! Thats a fact!!!!
Man, ah havent had any frahd grain damaters in a coons age!!!! My mom and all her sisters and my grandmother, could whip up a mess of frahd grain damaters that would make your mouth water!!!

Last time ah had any FGT was too long ago! I bemember my aunt elenore and my mom and dad and others came out to our other house one Sunday afer church!!! We had a garden then! We had Corn, pole beans, squash, greens, damaters, pie pumpkins, watermelon, peppers etc...
Anyway they all came over for Sunday after church dinner!!! I got the water started for boiling the ears of corn, and went out into the garden! DW calls out, "the waters boiling"!!!! I cut about a quarter bushel of corn of the stalks, and shucked em as I was running for the back door! Soons I got in the house, we plunked em in the boiling water! Butter was already soft, and and my mom and aunt elenore had just fried up, and still were frying, a mess of green tomatos!!! Lordy lordy lordy they were so good!! (now that was fresh food, not picked more en a minute before it was cooked and served up, pipin hot)!!!

Anyhow, put all the vittles on the table, and then took the fresh corn out of the pot and passed em around and we buttered em up and commenced to eatin...Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm!!!! The tomatoes had come off our plants just moments before they were fried up!!! They disappeared fastern mom and elenore could put em on the platter!!!
Corn disappeared too!!! In fact there wasnt much left for "leftovers"!!! Then, me and DW went outside and filled a large bowl up with fresh picked blackberries!!!

Me and Dad and the "menfolk" retired to the deck and yaked about this and that, had whiskey and cigars, whilst the womenfolk made the best damned blackberry cobbler I have ever had on this earth!!!! We had fresh homeade vanilla ice cream, I had churned earlier, and blackberry cobbler, and big giant grins broke out on every face there!!! The memory of that day is as fresh as if it just happened today!!!!

That was the last time we were all together and enjoyed the home cooking of the "Jones girls" (my mom and elenore)!!!! That was back in 93 methinks!
Elenore died a few years back in Smackover, Arkansas, and mom cant see to cook anymore, plus she is 90!

What a busy week and weekend me and DW had this weekend!!! We gave a 60th anniversary party for her mom and dad at our little country church in the city!
Me and DW set up all the tables and chairs and serving tables and covered em with table cloths and decorated the place with purple flawrs and purple ribbons, (her moms favorite color)! I set up the DJ equipment to play their favorite Big Band tunes I had been workin on for a couple o months! Set up a big screen tv and DWs computer to play a slide show of all the pictures of their lives! What a great job Diane did too! She just did a wonderful job on the decorations and everything! I just fetched and toted! Our son Kevin, cooked all the food and the wedding cake and the grooms cake! It was all so great too! cakes looked like a professional had made them!

70 people showed up!!! We knew there would be about that many! Well, we finally got home about 8 oclock lastnight, and still have not put everything away! DW also went to Party Boy across from Arnies, and had a banner made up with a wedding picture of her parents, from 1950, and a now picture of them 60 years later! It was about 6 ft long and 2 ft tall! They did a great job, and it was only 40 dollars! Well worth every penny!!!
Max and Jeannine loved it, as they did everything else!!!

But hey, If I ever mention that we are going to do something like that again, SOMEONE STOP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My back hurts so bad, I can hardly walk!!! Although it is getting better, maybe!!! It was fun, but for once, I would like to just be invited to some shindig, without me having to do one blessed thing, except show up!!!!

Well, I guess Fudds is a start!!!
You reckon they'll have any fried green tomatos????
probably knot!!! I can dream cant I!!!

You know what I'd love to do???? Get all our classmates together and have a good old fashion Sunday afternoon dinner!!! Everyone can bring a favorite dish, or bread, or pie or cake and ice cream etc... Wouldnt that be fun???? I know, the logistics would be extremely challenging!!! Wish we had our ranch house built, we could have it there! Oh well, maybe we can work something out somehow, somewhere!!!

We could have it at our church, for free!!! Payne hall, opens up to cheshire, or is it chantilly??? Anyway, it's the street that runs between Black and Oaks Presbyterian church!!!! (Ive only lived here for 64 years, you'd think I could remember the streets by now.) We could have chairs outside, and maybe set up some horseshoes, and stuff like that! Well, you cant drink alcohol there, so I guess that wouldnt be too good for somefolks! I just drink lemonade, or good ol southern tea cause thats nectar of the Gods!!!!

Well, been ramblin like a krazy man eh! So I will say goodnight!
"when the curtains of night are pinned back by the stars..."

Kay and Teddie,
Thank's for the heads up Teddie. Upon further review and checking with AAA and Google maps I actually live 10 miles "south" of Navasota. Maybe that explains a lot of things like why I have trouble finding my way home lately and why they don't let me out alone much anymore.

Lots to chuckle at this morning. John, you only would have gotten me, as I looked at the forum several times, but felt no need to contribute, thought I'd save something for Fudds on Tuesday. The state of U.S. is so deeply mired by all the sins, it may well never recover. It doesn't seem to matter who is in office, it just keeps getting worse. Pray for America, we were so fortunate to have participated in the wonderful '60's and 70's.

Beau - you are far out of range on the fried green tomatoes, I really had to stretch to git that one! Sounds like the anniversary was a great one, and I know what you mean. It would be nice to just be able to walk in with everyone else arranging the party. Don't think that your personality would allow it though.

What's it all about, Alfie?.......

Robert - great explanation, although I would be a little apprehensive to see how you handle East and West...Hee, hee. I thought women were the only ones that didn't have a GPS in their brains!

What a great game last night! I enjoyed it and may the best team win, as I wasn't involved with either. N.O. Saints were amazing as I didn't think the human body could twist, turn, and suffer such treatment under perfect control, will almost!

The Reverend got worked up Sunday preaching about Jonah. The next four Sundays are set aside for this study. So he opens the Good Book, reminded us that if we are having trouble finding Jonah it is the book after Obediah. (Thanks for nothing, Preach.) Anyway, he commenced to referencing, expositing from Genesis to Revelations and I don't know what all and and an hour later he said, "Next week we will continue with Chapter 1 verse 4." Three verses in an hour... I think we will need more than three more weeks to finish the book.

Beau, you used to be able to get FGTs at the Black Eyed Pea. I'm not sure about currently since I haven't eaten there in a while. I'm sure they aren't up to the quality of those at your family get together but it might be a source.

FGT... my Mom couldn't cook worth a darn, but she sure could fix a good mess of fried green tomatoes (Beau, I got it right off since I can read Pho-net-tick-lee (roll over Ms. Borden)) Any way she had a tomato plant right beside the back steps. She would pluck a couple for (or is that pluck a chicken and pick a tomato) anyway she would fry them up fresh. Even a a little kid I liked them... still do.

Now I am hungry for fried okra, FGT, purple hull peas, fresh sliced RED tomatoes, corn bread, creamed corn and warm fresh peach cobbler w/cream. Sweet tea and a nap.

I'm with Richard... this old bit has got to go!!! I was visiting a retirement "settlement" this weekend. Veeeeeerweeee Scaaaaaareeee !!!

I don't think the internet is depressing, Burge, I think it is FUN... Get to talk and think or NOT whenever you want. Even get to SEE the other end of the line. It's like having the remote all the time and not having to watch TV except sometimes you have to think where as with TV you aren't supposed to think, I think?

Valentines Day is Sunday! Don't forget guys ... remember when we used to bring valentines to school to share with everyone. Seems like we each made a Valentine's box from a shoe box in elementary school. Decorated it in art (even the boys had one). Went around the room and put the "mail" in each box. My little ones make me valentines. I love 'em... the valentines, too.

Will you be mine? Can I be thine?
Say you'll be my Valentine!

See ya'll at Fudd's
