"Mamafer" King, 67, joined the Heavenly Choir on Thursday, February 20, 2014. Born in Newark, New Jersey on July 22, 1946 to Joseph and Marie Pratt.
Known by many names, Sugar, Mom, Grandma, Mamafer, The Owl Lady or just sweet Sharon none were immune to her beautiful smile and loving and caring ways.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years Rod King, her son Chris King and her grandson Roy Allen King. She leaves behind numerous friends and extended family members. Mamafer's "adopted" sons or daughters, as Chris' friends were called, always got that special hug when they met and when they parted.
A "Gathering of Friends and Family" will be held on Tuesday, Feb 25th from 6 to 8 pm at Oaks Christian Church Fellowship Hall. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Wednesday, Feb 26th at 2pm at Oaks Christian Church Sanctuary. Oaks Christian Church is at 1216 Bethlehem in Houston (713-686-6447).
Donations to the American Diabetes Association may be made in preference to flowers should you like.
I know that God has found a special place in Heaven for someone as special as Sharon. And I know that she, and He, will continue to watch over, and care for and love her beloved Rod and Chris and Roy, just as she did so well while she was here on earth.
