Sad news, our dear classmate, Terry Hurzeler,  passed away this past weekend.  Will let you know when Memorial Service is scheduled.

From Sharon Walker - 12/17/15 11:55 AM

Some sad news. Terry Hurzeler passed away last weekend from complications after a triple bypass. He had fought heart problems since his first heart attack when he was 43. He had a second heart attack a few years ago and was put on a pacemaker. He suffered a third attack about 2 months ago and that is when the bypass was done. He had been in the hospital since then.

The last few years had been rough years for him. He had a scooter accident in about 2011 and had some chronic problems related to that. Last year he battled prostate cancer and was cured. I guess his body just could not recover one more time.

A memorial service will be scheduled a bit later. I will try to let folks know when it is scheduled.

Terry was a great guy and I was privileged to be his friend the last 6 years. We both lived in League City. I will miss him.

Regards,
Sharon Walker

Terry was simply a nice guy! He was the same person when I saw and talked to him at our 30th and 45th reunions as he was when I first met him playing little league baseball in about 1956, and a couple of years later playing football at Black. His dad was our baseball coach and was a fine gentleman. We used to practice at some fields on west T. C. Jester just north of 43rd and near their house. And it turned out that Terry ended up selling flares and combustion equipment to refineries and chemical plants, and that was one of the product lines that my company sold to those same customers so we were competitors, but didn't know it. It truly is a small world.

Rest in peace Terry.
